Abstract

Next to the horse's skin, the cover has a bottom layer (11) made of knitted fabric sensitive to the horse's skin and permeable to air and water. The middle layer (12) consists of one or more knitted fabrics permeable to air and water. At least parts of the middle layer have a bottom (13) and a top (14) layer of knitted fabric with intermediate layer removable through a slit fastened by a sliding clasp fastener, in the top and middle layers. The top layer (16) made of woven water-tight fabric may incorporate parts which are permeable to air and water, for air ventilation. The saddle cover has an edging seam (17) joining the layers (11,13,14,16).

Description

The invention relates to a saddlecloth made of several layers, the Layers facing the horse's back are permeable to water and air and the Upper layer are largely impermeable to water. Such saddlecloths serve the back of a mount, especially one Horse to cover. Usually the saddlecloth serves as an intermediate layer between horse and saddle.

Previous saddlecloths consisted of single-layer or multi-layer fabrics or felt. At higher loads, especially in the military and Endurance riding, it can be one of the conventional saddlecloths Heat build-up or increased sweating. It can the horse's performance is impaired, such as. through dehydration and through the effects of saddle pressure.

Known saddlecloths also show a multilayer structure, whereby the top layer is made of a waterproof material. However, the layers lying on horseback consist of sweat-absorbent Material. Sweat-absorbent textiles have that Disadvantage of not only absorbing the sweat formed, but also save. As soon as the tissue is soaked, the sweat-absorbing stops Largely affect and the evaporation becomes strong with special needs.

Die US-A-4974397 zeigt die Anordnung von saugfähigen Schaumstoff- und Filzschichten, die ebenfalls die oben genannten Nachteile aufweisen.US-A-4695496 shows a multi-layer structure of a saddlecloth an absorbent middle foam layer and a sweat-wicking Bottom layer that sucks the sweat off the horse's back should. Here, too, the sweat discharge is hindered, so that the related Effect of the saddlecloth severely limited after a short period of use is. US-A-4974397 shows the arrangement of absorbent Foam and felt layers, which are also the above Have disadvantages.

The object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages described to avoid. A saddlecloth should be provided, which the Sweat does not absorb, but the unhindered sweat discharge and better ventilation allowed, so that the heated by the horse's body Air and sweat derived from the horse's body and outwards from the Saddlecloth are guided. Nevertheless, the saddlecloth should Stay dry on the outside.

  • The saddlecloth according to the invention is primarily characterized in that it has the following layer structure starting from the horse's back:
  • a) bottom layer of skin-friendly spacer fabric with high air and water permeability,
  • b) middle layer of one or more layers of spacer fabrics with high air and water permeability, and
  • c) Upper layer of largely water-impermeable fabric.
Further features of the invention are the claims below Description and drawings can be found.

In the following, the invention is based on an exemplary embodiment described in Figures 1 to 4.

Fig. 1 shows the top view of a saddlecloth according to the invention from above. 2 is a top view of an insert for the saddlecloth according to Fig. 1. Figures 3 and 4 are sectional views according to lines III-III and IV-IV in FIG. 1.

1 is constructed so that the center line 1 comes to rest along the horse's spine. The two wings 2 extend to both sides of the horse's back and hang with it their ends 3 down. The rear end 4 is narrower than the front head end 5. The saddlecloth is outside of an edge seam 17 bordered.

Leder aufweisen. The wings 2 largely consist of their upper side waterproof fabric that sweat from horse to saddle or does not let through to the rider and any moisture from above on horseback. The ends 3 can be more wear-resistant on their surface Material such as Have leather.

The upper layer preferably has spacer knitted fabrics in sections high air and water permeability for air ventilation. In the 1 can be a rear valve surface 6, a see middle valve surface 7 and a front valve surface 8. This Valve surfaces are characterized by high air permeability, so that heated air and sweat easily re-pass through these valve surfaces can be discharged outside.

The saddlecloth is slit lengthways along the center line 1 and this slot 9 is e.g. with a zipper 10 closable.

3 corresponds to a section according to the Line III-III in Fig. 1, that is, through the edge region. The sectional view is purely schematic and does not take into account that by the Edge material, the material of the individual layers strongly compressed becomes.

The lower layer 11 consists of a skin-friendly spacer fabric with high air and water permeability. This lower class is in direct contact with the fur of the mount and has the property the warm air formed and the sweat directly from the horse's body pull away and up to the other layers that are the middle class 12 form to forward. The middle layer 12 is in this embodiment formed by two layers of spacer fabrics, namely through a lower middle layer 13 and the upper middle layer 14. Both parts of the middle class lie directly on top of each other. The gap 15 is to illustrate that the two layers 13 and 14 are not are connected to one another over a large area, so that according to a further exemplary embodiment an insert layer can be inserted.

The lower middle layer 13 is preferably made of thicker spacer fabrics formed as the upper middle layer 14.

The saddlecloth is facing upwards (i.e. towards the saddle) from the upper layer 16 completed, which is largely impermeable Tissue. The upper layer can be in the area of the valve surfaces 6 to 8 16 may be formed by a knitted spacer around the outlet the heated air and humidity.

The sweat can run off relatively freely because of the saddlecloth a space is formed between the upper layer 16 and the horse skin which offers little resistance to welding and also circulates air.

Most of the moisture runs in along the horse's body layers 11 and 12 down. Due to the ventilation effect moisture formation is further reduced.

At the edge, the saddlecloth is sewn by the edge seam 17, the Layers in the seam area are pressed together, unlike in FIG. 3 is shown.

If desired, an insert 18 can be arranged in the intermediate space 15 be, as shown in Fig. 2 in supervision. This too Interlining consists of water and air permeable spacer fabrics. The insert layer is covered by adhesive fabrics such as Velcro tape 19 between the lower middle layer 13 and the upper middle layer 14 fixable. The insert layer preferably exists along area 20 the spine of the horse from thinner spacer fabrics and in the area 21 towards the flanks from thicker spacer fabrics or from two Layers of the thinner spacer fabric. The circular cutouts 22 serve the increased air circulation directly from the horse's back upwards to the valve surface 7.

The insert layer 18 can through the slot 9 in the saddlecloth be inserted. By the zipper 10, the slot 9th be closed or opened.

Fig. 4 shows the layer structure of the saddlecloth with inserted Insert layer and with the zipper open. The reference signs to the individual layers correspond to those of FIG. 3. The interlayer 18 comprises a second layer 23 towards the flanks Spacer fabrics to provide thicker material in the flanks.

The upper layer 16 consists of sections in the cutting region shown from the air and waterproof material 16 and from the middle valve surface 7 from spacer fabrics. The seam 24 that the connecting the two materials together also fixes the upper one Middle layer 14. The further drawn seam 25 connects the two layers of the insert layer 18 as the boundary between the Areas 20 and 21 of the interlayer.

The spacer fabrics described above are commercially available fabrics in which the knitted surfaces 26 and 27 (FIG. 3) are connected to spacer webs 28. 3, these reference symbols are drawn in, for example, in the lower middle layer 13. Such spacer fabrics have no or no remarkable suction or storage effect for sweat and allow its unimpeded drainage and air ventilation. Any adhesive residual moisture is not a burden for the animal's back. Examples of such materials are the following:
    • For the lower layer 11, the skin-friendly spacer fabric Gertex 770902. This knitted fabric from Gertex Textil GmbH is also referred to as Gertex profile fillet fabric. It consists of 100% polyester and has a basis weight of 330 g / m 2 . With good ventilation, it has very little moisture absorption and is sufficiently scrubbable.
    • For the lower middle layer 13, the spacer fabric Müllertextil 5875 with a thickness of 11 mm.
    • For the other thinner spacer fabrics such as layers 14, 18 or valve surfaces 6, 7 and 8, the Müllertextil 5754 with a thickness of 6 mm.
    • Textile material Cotura, which is a coated fabric, has proven to be favorable as the material for the water-impermeable upper layer 16.

In the context of the present invention, these materials can by equivalent to be replaced if the necessary air circulation and other parameters are similar.
