Definitions
- the invention relates to a reinforcing element thermoactivable, in the form of a complex, and used in the manufacture of footwear.
- FR-A-2 065 960 describes a composite material made up of strips of fabrics impregnated with a dispersion synthetic elements of styrene-butadiene polymer carboxyl. The faces of the layer as well carried out are then, for one, coated with a dispersion synthetic materials suitable for said face the appearance of suede while being resistant to abrasion and, for the other, coated for example by a sticky coating allowing hot gluing in a shoe.
- thermoplastic resin is preferably an ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer thermoactivable at a temperature below 100 ° C.
- US patent US-A-5,354,604 relates to also a composite material serving as reinforcement, consisting of a core of thermo-deformable thermoplastic resin, layers of woven being placed on the side and other of said soul and linked to them by layers resins.
- the woven layers have a sufficient thickness to impart rigidity and sufficient strength to the composite structure.
- a subject reinforced with a fibrous element included within of a thickness of synthetic material is subject to a first coating direct by the synthetic material, the fibrous element is then affixed to the plaster and pressed so that the molten coating enters the macroscopic openings defined between the fibers, a second coating is then applied in the molten state in order to fill the depressions on the surface of the reinforcing element, joining the first coating in the openings macroscopic of the fibrous element.
- the fibrous element is embedded by applying pressure within a single layer coating of synthetic material. In these two case, the process requires the submission of the article footwear at very high temperatures in order to apply the synthetic material melted in the form of a coating.
- the coating of the material to be reinforced by a synthetic material in molten form necessarily leads to high temperatures during the manufacturing cycle of the footwear which may cause damage to said material strengthen.
- the procedure for coating the material to be reinforced lengthens the manufacturing cycle time of said footwear.
- the method described envisages only the reinforcement directly on the material of the footwear during its manufacturing cycle, the material to be reinforced in front automatically be subject to temperature conditions severe previously mentioned.
- DE-A-41 20 134 describes a fiber support suitable for welding or bonding between two compounds that are not stickable or weldable one with the other, these compounds being able to constitute two elements to link with an article of footwear.
- the support fibrous has an outer layer on one side with which one of the compounds is identical or bondable or weldable and on the other side an outer layer with which the other compound is identical or bondable or weldable, either chemically or mechanically.
- the fiber support can optionally constitute plus a stiffening element between the two compounds.
- JP-A-3221001 a manufacturing process reinforced footwear using a body of reinforcement formed from a shape memory polymer and shaped previously in curved form along a form of shoe mold.
- the reinforcement body is then heated and deformed into a plane form at a temperature below the molding temperature and is then introduced into a pocket then attached to the conservation of shape of the shoe upper.
- the invention relates to a reinforcing element thermoactivable, intended to be set up in a footwear, said element being in the form of complex and made up of at least three layered elements, said elements being: a thermoactivable element at shape memory which is an ethylene-acid copolymer methacrylic, a stiffening element thermoactivable, and a reinforcement fabric of aramid fibers inserted between the first two elements, said element of stiffening permeating said reinforcing fabric and having a softening point lower than the fusion of the fibers of said reinforcing fabric, said element of stiffening and said shape memory element being thermoactivable at a temperature below 100 ° C, i.e. within the range of temperatures used at during a manufacturing cycle of an article of footwear.
- the reinforcing element therefore consists of three elements in separate layers, each of which has specific characteristics giving the element of reinforcement of specific properties.
- the reinforcing element according to the invention can be define in two parts of distinct functions, one constituting a hard end or buttress and the other a reinforcement of said hard end or buttress, the first part being constituted by the shape memory element whose dimensions and characteristics are similar to those a standard type butt or buttress and the second part consisting of the reinforcing fabric and the stiffening element whose characteristics constitute a local reinforcement for the memory element of form.
- the shape memory element provides the footwear an ability to recover its original shape even after undergone deformation, for example by impact. He contributes therefore maintaining the aesthetic integrity of said article fit.
- a thermoactivable material is used at temperatures compatible with the manufacturing cycle of the footwear, having a shape memory, to know an ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer sold under the registered trademark SURLYN or of the type sold under the IMPERFIRM trademark.
- the stiffening element is a heat-activated resin and heat-sealed chosen so as to stiffen locally at room temperature the tissue area of reinforcement that it permeates by a local increase thick while having a softening point low, preferably below 100 ° C, to allow forming at temperatures compatible with manufacturing cycle temperatures of an item fit.
- the layer of the stiffening element can be made by direct coating of the reinforcing fabric by said resin.
- the reinforcement fabric of aramid fibers allows to limit the creep of the other two elements laminated during a brief request or permanent such as crushing or slipping of the foot in the footwear, insofar as the fibers of the tensile fabrics also have a low elongation capacity.
- the aramid fiber fabric has a basis weight of 60 g / m 2 .
- This aramid fiber fabric provides reinforcement optimal in terms of resistance to wear, tearing and also limits the risk of foot irritation the user.
- the reinforcing element thus produced is mounted on the face internal of a rod to locally reinforce an article footwear in the same way as a usual reinforcement heat-activated.
- the shape memory element which plays the role of a standard hard butt or buttress is preferably attached to the upper of the footwear so that the reinforcement fabric and the stiffening element are placed inside said footwear.
- the reinforcing element thus produced makes it possible to reinforce footwear without require significant modification in the cycle of usual manufacturing, forming temperatures, in in particular the deformation of the stiffening element and of the shape memory element, being less than 100 ° C. There is therefore no longer any risk of degradation of other components of the footwear.
- the reinforcing element is obtained by superimposition flat of the three separate layers.
- the shape memory element 1 has, from preferably, a cut and a dimension specific to constitute either a buttress or a hard end of the type standard, its thickness being between 0.5 and 1.5 mm. It is coated on its external face with a hot-melt adhesive allowing its subsequent bonding on the rod 4 an article of footwear. Its shape memory allows it return to its original shape after deformation by a shock or accidental stress.
- Reinforcement fabric of light weight 2 is preferably a fabric of aramid fibers impregnated by the stiffening element 3.
- Said stiffening element 3 is preferably consisting of poly "caprolactone" and present a softening point between 55 and 70 ° C. he covers the reinforcement fabric 2 so that it has a local increase in thickness between 0.2 and 0.8 mm.
- Reinforcement fabric 2 and element layer of stiffening 3 have the same dimensions and the fabric 2 is positioned so that the component fibers the fabric are preferably oriented at +/- 45 ° with respect to the longitudinal axis of the footwear. This position of the fibers is held in place in the reinforcing element by impregnating the reinforcing fabric 2 by the stiffening element 3.
- the reinforcing element has a structure such that the reinforcement fabric 2 is located between the element to shape memory 1 and the stiffening element 3.
- the dimensions of the element layer stiffening 3 and reinforcing fabric 2 are such that, from preferably, their surface is between 90 and 40% of the surface of the shape memory element 1.
- the element with shape memory 1 presents a trimming at the end not to mark the shoe after mounting on the upper 4 and in a sole 5.
- the dimensions of the reinforcing fabric 2 and the layer of the stiffening element 3 are also such that these do not cover the trimming area 1 'of the shape memory element 1.
- the stiffening element 3 also presents a trimming 3 'so to obtain a variation in thickness and stiffness progressive so as not to harm user comfort and also to preserve the aesthetics of the article footwear (no marking).
- Layers 1, 2 and 3 can be mounted by the so-called complexing process corresponding to the superposition of the different layers during the fitting of the footwear.
- the impregnation fabric 2 by the stiffening element 3 intervenes during the softening of the element of stiffening during forming.
- the fabric 2 is then previously impregnated by direct coating with the stiffening element 3, then laminated to the memory element of form 1.
- the reinforcing element is mounted on the rod 4 of the same way as a hard tip or a heat-activated buttress usual.
- the rod 4 of footwear constitutes the outer shell of the reinforcing element while the fabric 2 impregnated with the stiffening element 3 performs the role of inner skin in the fitted footwear.
- the reinforcing element can however be covered internally a protective fabric or film and cleanliness 6.
- the variation of the thickness of the element reinforcement preserves user comfort and aesthetics of the footwear.
- this reinforcing element can be used to reinforce any part of the rod, the dimensions and the shape of said element then being chosen in depending on the area of the rod to be reinforced.
