Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines luftspaltisolierten Abgaskrümmers (1), welcher aus abgasführenden Innenrohrabschnitten (4,5,6) und einer in Ober- und Unterschale (15) geteilten Außenschale (3) besteht, wobei die Innenrohrabschnitte (4,5,6), von denen zumindest einer als Rohrbogen (6) ausgebildet ist, ineinandergesteckt werden. Die ineinandergesteckten Innenrohrabschnitte (4,5,6) werden als ein Zusammenbauteil in die Unterschale (15) bezüglich der späteren gebildeten Außenschale (3) zentriert eingelegt, wobei dann die Oberschale auf die Unterschale (15) aufgelegt und an dieser angedrückt wird. Anschließend erfolgt die Verschweißung von Ober- und Unterschale (15) und der Innenrohrabschnitte (4,5,6) an den Stellen, an denen sie die Außenschale (3) durchragen, mit der Außenschale (3). Um in einfacher Weise sowohl einen Schiebesitz der Innenrohrabschnitte (4,5,6) als auch die Ausbildung einer gleichmäßigen Luftspaltisolierung (21) der Innenrohrabschnitte (4,5,6) nach Abschluß der Herstellung des Abgaskrümmers (1) stets zu gewährleisten, wird vorgeschlagen, die Innenrohrabschnitte (4,5,6) vor dem Einlegen in die Unterschale (15) miteinander mittels jeweils eines Verbindungselementes (20) aus hitzeflüchtigem Material kraftschlüssig zu verbinden, wobei das Verbindungselement nach der Verschweißung der Ober- und Unterschale (15) mit den Innenrohrabschnitten (4,5,6) durch Einwirkung von Hitze aufgelöst wird.
