Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for protection one device, with two each having at least two temperature-dependent Switching positions, temperature-dependent Rear deraille and at least two external connections.
- the known device comprises two independent, temperature-dependent Switches, each with its own, electrically conductive Have lower housing part.
- the lower housing part takes each a bimetal switchgear and serves as the first external connection.
- the lower part of the housing is closed by a cover which the second external connection of the respective switch is provided is.
- the two switches are next to each other or one above the other arranged, between or under the lower housing parts
- a PTC heating block is provided, so that a series connection from the two switches and the one in between Heating resistor arises.
- the two switches and the heating resistor are through an insulating tube or a housing isolated from the outside, with only the two on the outside the external connections provided for each cover and a external connection formed by a lower housing part accessible are.
- the one arranged between the first and the second external connection Switch is an opener.
- the other switch is a make contact, the one formed from this switch and the heating resistor Series connection between the second and third external connection lies.
- the NC and NO contacts each have the same Switching temperature.
- the known device is used for overtemperature protection Load at which there is only so little residual current in the event of a fault flows that this for the usual self-retention by one heating resistor connected in series with the load is not sufficient.
- the opener With the new device, the opener is now closed in series the load placed during the series connection of NO and Heating resistor is parallel to the load.
- the break contact At overtemperature the load, the break contact now couples the load from the power supply while the NO contact connects the heating resistor to the Power supply connects, so that in the heating resistor developed heat can be used to open the and to keep the closer in its high temperature position.
- the known device is therefore for a very special one Purpose designed, the disadvantage here is that two independent switches are used, so that not only the Overall dimensions are large, but also the design effort overall is very high, which is associated with corresponding costs is.
- DE-AS-1 058 606 describes a real changeover switch, known temperature-dependent switch, which is a temperature-dependent Rear derailleur in the form of a bimetallic snap disc having.
- the switch has an electrically conductive housing in which the bimetallic snap disk is guided circumferentially.
- the housing serves as the center connection of the switch. With your middle range is the bimetallic snap disc depending on Temperature with one of two spring-loaded plungers in the system, which are kept isolated from the housing and each form one of the other two external connections.
- the bimetallic snap disc adjusts depending on the temperature electrically conductive connection between the center connection and one of the two other external connections. Because of the required insulation between the housing and the two spring-loaded plunger is the known switch mechanically very complex and voluminous. In addition, it must be electrical conductive housings in various applications be insulated from the outside, which requires assembly time and thus Costs.
- this object is achieved in the above-mentioned Device solved in that both switchgear immediately are arranged in a common housing so that each Rear derailleur depending on its temperature assigned first or second external connection directly with connects a center connection, the two rear deraille together is and is preferably designed as a third external connection.
- each Switchgear designed as opener or closer as required can be.
- the two rear derailleurs can be different Have switching temperatures, which is due to the design of the respective bimetallic switching element in the switching mechanism becomes.
- the rear deraille can each a bimetallic snap disk or a bimetallic shift tongue consist.
- the construction of the new device, the only one Housing and two switchgear covers, is very simple and has small dimensions. Compared to using two separate switches is the lower material consumption an advantage, only one housing and three are used four external connections required. With the three external connections the advantage of simpler cabling goes hand in hand, since when assembling the device according to the invention on the device to be protected only three instead of four connections need to be connected.
- the central connection is not contactable from outside. This makes sense if the device should only conduct in one temperature range. A rear derailleur is then a make contact, which when the lower temperature of the area closes while the other Rear derailleur is a break contact that is at the upper limit of the temperature range opens and thus the conductive connection between interrupts the two external connections again.
- the cost of manufacturing the new device is not only because of the simple compared to the prior art Construction and low material costs low, another The advantage is that only one housing is manufactured and with Rear derailleurs must be equipped, so that the number the manufacturing steps compared to the state of the art significantly reduced.
- each rear derailleur has one Bimetal snap disk and preferably one against the bimetal snap disk working spring washer includes one movable contact.
- the housing is made of insulating material is manufactured and for each rear derailleur with the associated External connection connected, assigned electrode and a two Rear deraille common electrode is provided with the Center connection is connected, preferably the housing a recording room for the first rear derailleur and one of them has separate receiving space for the second rear derailleur and each recording space on the one hand by a common electrode and on the other hand by an associated electrode is limited.
- the housing can e.g. next to each other two receiving spaces for the switchgear be provided, being under the two recording rooms the continuous, common electrode extends while the two recording rooms upwards, each with its own Electrode are closed.
- the two Recording rooms on opposite sides of the common one Electrode are arranged, the two receiving spaces preferably each closed by an associated electrode are, which are each designed as a lid and after Insert the rear derailleur in the recording area on one edge the housing was attached.
- the assigned electrode in each case rests on an inner shoulder of the housing, the Edge of the housing preferably after inserting the electrode was hot stamped or welded.
- the common electrode preferably approximately in the middle of the housing, by casting or Injection molding so captive in the manufacture of the housing is held that it is an integral part of the housing.
- the housing is now e.g. as a molded plastic part can be manufactured, during the spraying process the common electrode is immediately encapsulated, so that it becomes an integral part of the housing.
- the common electrode can also be used as a carrier serve for the housing to give it greater stability to lend.
- the common electrode on both sides of an inwardly projecting ring Part of the housing is included, on which in a Switch position the bimetallic snap disc and / or the spring washer support with their respective edge, whereby the Bimetal snap disk and / or the spring washer preferably in the other switching position with its edge on the assigned one Support the electrode.
- the ring is fulfilled namely two functions, on the one hand it holds the common one Electrode and on the other hand it serves as an insulating pad for the edge of the bimetallic snap disc and / or spring washer in whose one switch position.
- the other switch position supports e.g. the spring washer with its edge on the inside Electrode while moving against the moving contact presses the common electrode so that an electrical Connection between common electrode and associated Electrode is produced. If the temperature is now increases, so snaps over the movable contact Bimetallic snap disk and supports itself with its edge the projecting ring, with its central area the counter contact against the force of the spring washer from the common electrode pushes away so that the circuit is interrupted becomes.
- the rear derailleur could too be inserted upside down so that e.g. alone provided bimetallic snap disc for closing the circuit is supported with its edge on the common electrode and the mobile contact now borne by her against the assigned electrode presses. If the bimetallic snap disc now jumps around, it comes with its edge in plant the associated electrode, so that now in this area insulating contact surface is required so that over the now movable contact pressed against the common electrode the circuit is not closed again.
- This isolating Contact surface could e.g. by an inside on the assigned Insulation plate provided electrode are formed, wherein but also here a projecting ring of the housing as an insulating Support surface can serve.
- the is preferred Variant where the anyway to hold the common Electrode provided ring serves as an insulating contact surface, all that is required is the bimetal rear derailleur so to speak, to put it upside down in the recording room.
- the common electrode has a molded projection protruding from the housing, which serves as a center connection, preferably each assigned Electrode an integrally formed, laterally projecting over the housing Has extension, which serves as an external connection, and further preferably each electrode is a disk-like one Sheet metal stamped part is formed on which the extension in one piece is.
- This measure is also structurally advantageous because Attach the center electrode and the two outer electrodes is by the respective extension, so to speak, in the same operation also formed the external connection.
- This extension can be designed as a soldering lug, cable plug, etc. If so Sheet metal stampings are used, so are the manufacturing costs conceivably low, so that this further reduces the Manufacturing and manufacturing costs of the new device contributes.
- Fig. 1 is schematically at 10, a new device for Protect a device indicated at 11 shown.
- the device 10 comprises a first temperature-dependent switching mechanism 12 and a second temperature-dependent switching mechanism 13, which with the first temperature-dependent switching mechanism 12 connected in series is.
- a switchgear 12 and 13 common center connection is indicated, while 16 denotes a first external connection assigned to the first switching mechanism 12 and 17 indicates an indicated second external connection.
- Both switching mechanisms 12, 13 are designed as break contacts, the switching mechanism 12 switching at a temperature T 1 which is much higher than the temperature T 2 at which the second switching mechanism 13 opens.
- the external connection 16 Via the external connection 16 is the series connection of the two Switchgear 12, 13 connected to a supply voltage 18, while the device to be protected 11 between the second external connection 17 and ground is switched. Between the center connection 15 and the second external connection 17 is a protective device 19 switched, which e.g. a heating resistor, a current limiter circuit etc. can be.
- a protective device 19 switched, which e.g. a heating resistor, a current limiter circuit etc. can be.
- the switching mechanism 13 opens and the direct supply of the device 11 by the supply voltage 18 is interrupted. However, the device 11 now draws its supply current via the protective device 19, which can ensure, for example, that only a maximum permissible current flows.
- the protective device 19 is designed as a heating resistor, it can, for example, perform a self-holding function, that is to say keep the temperature inside the device 10 so high by the ohmic heat generated that the switching mechanism 13 cannot close again.
- the resistance can also be dimensioned such that the device 10 cools down only very slowly, so that a certain switch-on delay for the switching mechanism 13 is realized.
- the device 19 If the device 19 can be dispensed with, no center connection 15 is required. The device 11 is then switched off when the temperature T 2 is exceeded and switched on again when the temperature drops below T 2 .
- the switching mechanism 12 opens, so that the power supply to the device 11 is finally interrupted.
- the switching mechanism 12 can be designed such that it closes again only at temperatures significantly below room temperature, which can be achieved by a corresponding switching hysteresis of the temperature-determining bimetal switching part.
- the arrangement according to FIG. 1 thus ensures that the device 11 is protected or switched off when the temperature T 2 is reached from an excessive current consumption or the like, but can switch on again after a certain switch-on delay, such as from electrical ones Hair dryers are known. Only when a harmful temperature T 1 is exceeded does the new device 10 completely interrupt the supply to the device 11. External measures, for example the use of cold spray, are now required in order to make the device 10 operational again.
- FIG. 2 also shows the new device 10, which protects a device 11, but which is now connected to the first external connection 16, while the supply voltage is supplied via the central connection 15.
- the protective device 19 is now connected between the second external connection 17 and ground. While the switching mechanism 12 is again designed as a break contact with a response temperature T 1 , the switching mechanism 13 is now a make contact with a response temperature T 2 that is significantly lower than the response temperature T 1 .
- the switching device 13 actuates the protective device 19, which can be a fan, for example, which cools the device 11. Should the temperature of the device 11 continue to rise and finally exceed the value T 1 , the switching mechanism 12 opens and the connection of the device 11 to the supply voltage 18 is interrupted.
- the switching hysteresis of the switching mechanism 12 can be selected so that it does not close again at room temperature.
- the device 10 initially comprises a housing 21 made of insulating material, in which indicated at 22 An injection molded electrode 23 is provided in the mirror plane is assigned to the center connection 15.
- the housing is at the top 21 closed by an upper cover electrode 24, which the is assigned to the first external connection 16 and by a projecting one Edge 25 of the housing 21 is held by hot stamping or heat welding was deformed.
- the housing 21 is at the bottom through a lower cover electrode 26 closed, which is assigned to the second external connection 17 and is held in a corresponding manner by an edge 27.
- the overmolded electrode 23 is protruding from the inside Ring 28, which is integrally formed with the housing 21 is held, a bore passing through the housing 21 in an upper receiving space 29 for the rear derailleur 12 and one divided under receiving space 30 for the rear derailleur 13.
- the switching mechanism 13 comprises a spring washer 31 which is in the Switch position shown with its edge 32 on the inside at the bottom Supported cover electrode 26 and a movable contact 33 carries by a bimetallic snap disk 34, which with its edge 35 is supported on the ring 28 by the overmolded Electrode 23 is pushed away.
- the switching mechanism 12 comprises a spring washer 36, with its edge 37 on the inside of the upper cover electrode 24 supports and carries a movable contact 38, which it presses against the molded electrode 23.
- a bimetallic snap disk 39 On the Contact 38 is a bimetallic snap disk 39, whose Edge 40 is unloaded in the switching position shown.
- the center connection 15 is through the spring washer 36 is connected to the first external connection 16, while between the center connection 15 and the second external connection 27 there is no electrically conductive connection since the bimetallic snap disk 34 the movable contact 36 of the molded electrode 34 pushes away because they are in their High temperature position. If the Temperature would also the bimetallic snap disk 39 from the jump around convex into a concave shape while doing so the movable contact 38 from the overmolded electrode 23 push away what they are with their edge 40 on the ring 28th was supported so that it is isolated from the electrode 23 is.
- the device shown in FIG. 3 thus comprises two switching mechanisms 12, 13 acting as break contacts, and thus corresponds to the device shown in FIG. 1, with a temperature greater than T 2 and less than T 1 prevailing.
- the bimetal snap disk 34 is still in its low-temperature position, so that the switching mechanism 13 is designed as a closer.
- the device 10 from FIG. 3 would correspond to the constellation shown in FIG. 2 at a temperature below T 2 .
- FIG. 4 is a top view of the new device 10, from which it can be seen that the lid electrode 24 is designed as a disc 43, which is integrally formed Has extension 44, which is the first outer connection 16th serves. At 45, the outline of the disc 43 is indicated. In the Disc 43 has an opening 46 through it a rivet-like projection 47 extends like a latch.
- an extension 48 can be seen further down in FIG. 4, formed integrally with the lower cover electrode 26 which is otherwise not recognizable in FIG. 4.
- the overmolded electrode 23 is also a disk 51 an extension 52 is formed, which serves as a center connection 15.
- a total of four openings 54 can be seen in the disk 51, through which webs 55 each extend, which are also shown in FIG. 3 are indicated.
- the stepped bore is indicated, which the receiving space 29 for the rear derailleur 12 forms, at 57 the inner Edge of the ring 28 can be seen. Inside is still that Movable contact 33 indicated, which is provided with a collar 58 is.
- FIG. 3 is longitudinal the line III-III is taken from Fig. 4, so that the extension 48 in Fig. 3 dashed for clarity is shown.
- the housing 21 is injected around the electrode 23, whereby the molded electrode 23 is an integral part of the Housing 21 is, but at the same time by the extension 52 of outside contactable.
- the two switching mechanisms 12, 13 are, so to speak, over Head inserted into the receiving spaces 29, 30 so that they with the respective movable contact 33, 38 to the overmolded Assign electrode 23.
- the cover electrodes 24, 26 are placed, being pushed through the respective projection 47 and the still upstanding edge 25 or 27 are aligned.
- the edges 25 and 27 are then hot stamped or heat welded, which ends the production.
