Date Dec. 18, 1997A device positionable upstream from a shower nozzle for dispensing solid, water-soluble or water-dispersible materials is disclosed. The device includes a tubular body (1) of which a first end (2) has a circular flange (3) and comprises an internal thread (4) defining a first shoulder (5), and a second end is threaded; and a cylindrical coupling portion (6) comprising a circular abutment (7) and two threads on either side thereof, i.e., a first or outer thread (8) with a diameter suitable for engagement with a shower hose, and a second or internal thread (9) with a diameter suitable for screwing said portion (6) into the second end of the body (1). The end of said internal thread forms a second shoulder (10). A chamber (11) is defined inside said body (1) between the first (5) and second (10) shoulders, whereat the wall of said body (1) comprises a window (12) for inserting a solid material into said chamber (4). A sealing ring (14) is positioned around said body (1) and slidable between the circular flange (3) and the circular abutment (7).

Claims (3)

  1. A device for distributing solid, water-soluble or water-dispersible, substances and disposed upstream of a shower spray head, comprising firstly a tubular body (1) having an end or first end (2) formed with an internal screwthread (4) and having a likewise threaded other or second end, and secondly comprising a cylindrical connecting member (6) formed with a first or external thread (8) having a diameter adapted for cooperation with a shower hose, a chamber (11) being inside the body and the said body having a window (12) for inserting a solid, water-soluble or water-dispersible, substance into the chamber (11), characterised in that the first end (2) has a circular projection (3), the internal thread (4) defines a first shoulder (5), the connecting member (6) has a circular abutment (7) and a thread on each side of it, the said external thread (8) and a second or internal thread (9) having a diameter for screwing the member (6) into the second end of the body (1), the end of the internal thread constituting a second shoulder (10), and the said window (12) is situated between the first (5) and the second shoulder (10), a closing ring (14) being disposed around the body (1)and being adapted to slide between the circular projection (3) and the circular abutment (7).
  2. A dispensing device according to claim 1, characterised in that it comprises a first O-ring (15) between the body (1) and the internal thread (9), a second O-ring (16) disposed in the closing ring (14) and a third O-ring (18) disposed between the window (12) and the circular projection (3).
  3. A dispensing device according to claim 1, characterised in that the connecting member (6) has a mesh at the level of the second shoulder (10).
