Description

The present invention relates to a pocket having a flexible external envelope comprising a collar followed by a flared part, the neck having a free end delimiting an opening, the pocket being likely to adopt a flattened configuration in which the aperture is closed, however the cervix is likely to adopt a substantially tubular configuration in which the opening is open, the pocket being, moreover, provided with a reinforcing element disposed at least near the free end of the neck.

Pockets of this type are used to receive waste in generally liquid form, including original waste human such as urine or vomit. These pockets show up normally in their flattened shape and are open to receive waste. On this occasion, the pocket is held in the vicinity of the free end of the neck to force the latter to adopt its substantially tubular configuration. Once the waste has been introduced, it is enough to release the free end of the neck so that it naturally resumes its flattened configuration, thus closing the opening.

Such bags are commonly made using sheets thin paper or plastic, possibly transparent, with the flexibility you want. For the opening, the reinforcing element is deformed by the user, which constrains the part of the neck arranged around of this element to adopt the desired tubular configuration.

The transverse dimensions of the opening are chosen from appropriately for the use you wish to make of the pocket. Generally, especially when the bag is intended to receive urine or vomit, the opening must be able to be handled with just one hand, so that its transverse dimensions are clearly smaller than the current transverse dimensions of the pocket. Through example, when the bag is used as urinal, its maximum width and that of the opening can vary respectively between 15 and 20 cm and between 4 and 10 cm, depending on whether the user is an adult or a child.

The presence of the reinforcing element makes it possible to open the opening of the upper end of the neck by bringing the two longitudinal edges together of this element which determine its maximum width in the configuration flattened. However, due to the flexibility of the material which constitutes the outer envelope of the pocket, there is a risk that only the collar is suitably open, while the rest of the outer casing remains flat, the leaves which constitute this envelope having naturally tendency to remain "glued" to each other. Therefore, when use, there is a risk of outward flow back to the product poured into the pocket.

The object of the invention is to remedy this drawback by proposing a pocket for which the passage to the tubular configuration of the neck ensures the spacing of the walls of the external envelope not only in the region of this pass, but also at least in the region of the flared part near the neck.

This object is achieved thanks to the fact that the reinforcing element is consisting of a relatively rigid and flexible sleeve disposed at inside the pocket, this sleeve extending into the neck from a first end located near the opening, up to a second end located on the side of the flared part, that the sleeve presents, in the vicinity of the base of the neck connected to the flared part, a cut on either side of which are delimited a first portion located on the side of the first end of the sleeve and a second portion located on the side of the second end of said sleeve, the second portion being provided with at least two legs substantially facing each other and having free lateral ends, and that, in the flattened configuration of the pocket, the sleeve is itself flattened and has two wall elements arranged one against the other, while, to bring the neck into its configuration substantially tubular and open the opening, the sleeve may be deformed elastically to adopt a so-called "open" configuration, in which the first portion is substantially tubular, while the lateral ends of the legs are spaced from one another.

We understand that, thanks to this conformation, the deformation of the sleeve not only brings the neck to its diameter opening thanks to the first portion of the sleeve, but also to spread the walls of the pocket at least in the flared part of its outer shell due to the spacing of the legs which equip the second portion of the sleeve.

The clarification that the sleeve is "relatively rigid and flexible "means that it is made of a material with rigidity greater than that of the external wall of the pocket. For example, the sleeve can be made of light cardboard or plastic of thickness greater than that of the plastic which constitutes the external wall.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the sleeve includes a holding member in the opening configuration, capable of being actuated to maintain said sleeve in its open conformation.

This holding member, for example formed by a tongue formed in a bend zone of the sleeve, is particularly interesting when the bag is intended to serve as a urinal for female use, since it avoids any untimely closing of the pocket itself if, due to improper handling, the stress of the hand placing the sleeve in its open configuration is unfortunately released.

The invention will be clearly understood and its advantages will appear better on reading the detailed description which follows, of an embodiment and of its variants represented by way of nonlimiting examples. The description refers to the accompanying drawings in which:
  • FIG. 1 is an elevation view of a pocket according to the invention, in its flattened configuration,
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view according to arrow 11 in FIG. 1, showing the upper end of the pocket in its open configuration,
  • FIG. 3 is a partial view in elevation of the upper end of the pocket, in the flattened configuration, according to an alternative embodiment of the sleeve,
  • FIG. 4 is a view similar to FIG. 3 showing another variant, and
  • Figures 5 and 6 are perspective views showing the sleeve of the variant of Figure 4, respectively substantially in its flattened configuration and in the open configuration.

This pocket has an envelope external 12 which is flexible. This envelope is for example produced at from two thin sheets of plastic cut so suitable and welded to each other over almost the entire outline, by a weld line 14.

The envelope 12 comprises a neck 16 which, in the direction going towards the bottom of the pocket, is followed by a flared portion 18, itself followed by a useful part 20 of the pocket which has a width which is substantially constant.

More specifically, in the example shown, an edge 12a of the envelope 12 is substantially straight from the free end of the neck 16, while the opposite edge 12 ′ a first presents a first portion 12b which is located in the region of the neck 16 and which is substantially parallel to edge 12a in this region, or which at most tends to slightly deviate from this edge 12a. The edge 12'a then has a second portion 12c which goes away from the edge 12a. It's that portion 12c which defines the flared portion 18 of the external envelope. Finally, the part useful 20 of the pocket is delimited between the edge 12a and the portion 12d of the edge 12'a facing it. This portion 12d can be substantially parallel to edge 12a or, as in the example shown, have slightly tending to approach the latter. Others configurations are still possible, the main thing being to obtain a volume internal corresponding to the use that one wishes to make of the pocket. Finally, the edge 12a and the portion 12d of the edge 12'a are connected by the bottom 12e of the pocket, which is located opposite the free end 16a of the col 16.

It was previously indicated that the weld 14 was almost keep on going. In fact, as seen in Figure 1, this weld forms a continuous line between two ends 14a and 14b between which it is interrupted. These ends are located on each side of the neck 16. Thus, the end 16a of the neck has an opening 17 which extends over substantially its entire width. In the following, we will consider that the length of the various elements of the pocket is defined in the direction, given by axis D, which goes from the free end 16a of the neck to the bottom 12e of the pocket, while the width of the different elements is defined transversely to this length.

The pocket includes a reinforcing element 22 constituted by a relatively rigid and flexible sleeve which is disposed inside the pocket, in the region of the neck 16. More precisely, this sleeve extends in the neck from a first end 22a disposed in the vicinity from the opening 17, to a second end 22b which is located at inside the pocket, in the region of the flared part 18. In the vicinity from the base 16b of the neck 16 (that is to say in the vicinity of the zone of connection between the neck and the flared part), this sleeve has a cutout 24 on either side of which are delimited a first portion 23a and a second portion 23b. The portion 23a extends between the cutout 24 and the end 22a of the sleeve, while the portion 23b extends between the cutout and the end 22b.

The second portion 23b is provided with two legs 26 substantially transverse to the axis D. In the flattened position of the pocket, the two legs 26 are arranged one against the other, which explains why we only see one in figure 1. On the other hand, in figure 2, the two tabs 26 are visible. The lateral ends 26a of the legs are free, that is to say that these ends do not meet and are not fixed together. Thus, the cutout 24 has two notches 24a and 24b which are substantially transverse and, optionally, a line of cut separating the ends 26a of the two legs.

The sleeve is fixed inside the pocket and, as we can see in Figure 1, it is fixed in the neck region using two welds 15a and 15b.

The first portion 23a of the sleeve extends over substantially the entire width of the neck 16, that is to say the distance which, in the flattened configuration, separates the longitudinal edges 22c and 22d from the sleeve in its first portion is substantially equal to the width of the neck given by the distance between the ends 14a and 14b of the weld 14. The second portion generally extends in line with the first, toward the 12th bottom of the pocket. However, as noted in broken lines in FIG. 1, the transverse dimension d maximum of the second portion in the leg region can be greater than the current width of the first portion. This provision aims to further increase the effect of the legs which is to separate the two walls from the pocket in the region below the neck.

We can see in Figure 2 the upper part of the pocket in the open configuration of the latter. To achieve this configuration, the sleeve is elastically deformed, so that its first portion 23a adopts a substantially tubular configuration. However, thanks to the cutout 24 and the fact that the lateral ends legs are free, the latter remain substantially straight. They are connected to the current part of the sleeve by their internal ends 26b opposite ends 26a. When we deforms the sleeve as in FIG. 2, the internal ends 26b take a given distance, depending on the diameter of the first portion of the sleeve. The legs 26 then retain, on practically their entire length, a spacing e substantially equal to the spacing between their respective internal ends.

Thus, when the sleeve is deformed, the neck 16 of the pocket which is arranged around the first portion 23a of the sleeve adopts a tubular shape whose diameter is determined by the maximum spacing walls opposite the sleeve. The legs 26 extend in the part flared 18 from the pocket and tend to spread the latter which, in a plane perpendicular to that of Figure 1 passing through the axis D, adopts substantially the diameter of the first portion 23a of the sleeve and which, in the region of the ends of the legs 26 (region which is distant from axis D) adopts spacing e. Thus, the walls of the pocket come off each other in the region of the flared part.

In the example shown, the flared part 18 is obtained by causing the portion 12c of the edge 12'a to move away from the edge 12a. Under these conditions, it is advantageous for the legs to be directed towards this portion 12c.

If the flared portion had another conformation, for example a frustoconical shape symmetrical about the D axis, we could choose to make a sleeve similar to that of Figure 1 by directing its legs towards one or the other of the two edges of the frustoconical portion. One could also choose to use a sleeve comprising four legs similar to legs 26, respectively arranged on the side and on the other side of the axis D so as to spread the walls of the pocket well in the flared part, in two opposite directions going transversely to axis D.

Overall, the first portion 23a of the sleeve has a symmetry with respect to the D axis. In particular, in the open configuration, this axis corresponds to the geometric axis of the tube that the first forms portion 23a of the sleeve. Under these conditions, the diameter of this tube is given by the spacing of the two opposite walls of the sleeve, measured along a plane passing through the axis D and perpendicular to the plane of the pocket in its flattened configuration. It pays to have the spacing e of the ends of the legs is substantially equal to this diameter. To do this, as seen in Figure 1, the cutout cleaning the two legs extends substantially to the axis D from a longitudinal edge 22c presented by the sleeve in its configuration flattened. In the example shown, this edge 22c is that of the edges longitudinal of the sleeve which is close to the portion 12c of the edge of the poached.

Preferably, it is even desirable that this cutting extends, in the direction from edge 22c to opposite edge 22d, beyond of the axis D. Thus, the ends 26b of the legs are connected to the part current of the sleeve in a region on which the walls of the sleeve diverge in open configuration, that is to say that they move apart from each other, when the sleeve is opened. The legs being relatively rigid, they thus tend, when the sleeve is open, to move away in the divergent direction given by the walls of the sleeve in the region of their internal ends 26b. So even if the pocket walls have a tendency to resist the spacing of the legs 26, it can be ensured that the spacing e between the ends 26a of these legs is sufficient. So that the legs have the desired stiffness, it is however preferable that the cut 24 does not does not extend too far beyond the D axis but only exceeds by a few millimeters.

According to the example shown in Figures 1 to 3, the sleeve comprises two similar plates 25a and 25b which constitute respectively the first and second wall elements that presents the sleeve in its flattened configuration. These plates are naturally flat and made of light cardboard or plastic relatively rigid and flexible. The plates are respectively fixed (for example by gluing or welding) on the internal faces of the pocket which are facing each other when it occupies its flattened configuration. The plates are fixed so that their longitudinal ends are adjacent two by two and respectively adjacent to the two longitudinal edges presented by the neck 16 in the flattened pocket configuration. Thus, the two longitudinal edges of the plates respectively define the edges 22c and 22d of the sleeve previously mentioned and are not designated by other references.

To form the cutout 24, each plate has a substantially transverse notch, respectively 24a and 24b. For each plate, there is a first and a second portion which extend respectively on either side of this notch and which correspond respectively to the first and second portions of the muff. It should be noted that another cut making the ends side of the free legs is not necessary since these ends normally coincide with the longitudinal edges of the pads which are initially separated from each other and are simply kept in position thanks to the fact that the width of the first portions platelets is substantially equal to that of the cervix.

The two legs are formed by the portions of the pads located between their respective cutout and that of their ends which is directed towards the inside of the pocket. Each plate has two edges longitudinal which are respectively located in the vicinity of the two edges the neck presents when the pocket is in its flattened configuration.

As can be seen in the drawings, the lateral ends 26a of the legs are rounded to avoid injuring the walls of the pocket when their spacing.

We also note that the upper edges 26c of the legs, i.e. the edges which face the opening of the pocket, do not are not completely transverse but are slightly inclined so to extend substantially parallel to the flared portion of the envelope outer pocket, more precisely on its edge 12c. Therefore, the legs have a shape perfectly suited to that of the flared portion of the pocket in which they are located and open the latter without difficulty.

The cutout 24 is located in the vicinity of the base of the neck 16 and, from preferably slightly below this base in the direction of the 12th bottom of the pocket.

We see in the figures that the sleeve 22 has a extension 27 which extends outwards beyond the opening 17. This extension is provided with means to facilitate the passage of the flattened configuration of the sleeve to its tubular configuration. It is gripping means which make it possible to grasp the facing walls well the sleeve to spread them slightly while bringing the edges together 22c and 22d. In the example of FIGS. 1 and 2, these means grip are simply formed by two tabs 27a and 27b which respectively equip the two walls of the sleeve parallel to the two walls facing the pocket.

We see that the extension 127 of the sleeve 122 has two tabs, respectively 127a and 127b, which, unlike the example in Figure 2, do not have the same shape. In effect, these two tabs have two gripping surfaces staggered. To make these surfaces, just cut the extension 127 of each of the two wall elements of the sleeve or of each of its two facing walls, asymmetrically with respect to the axis D. Thus, a cut portion of the extension of the first wafer is located opposite a portion that remains full of the extension of the second brochure.

In Figures 4 to 6, we use to designate the elements common to FIGS. 1 and 2, the same references as in these figures, increased by 200. The sleeve 222 includes a holding member in opening configuration.

More specifically, the sleeve has a folding zone 240, better visible in Figure 5, on either side of which extend its two wall elements 225a and 225b. A cutout 242 is formed in the sleeve and extends on either side of the folding zone, advantageously symmetrically with respect to the latter. This cutout 242 leaves a tab 244 which, as seen on Figure 6, can be folded on itself. In this situation, the line of fold 246 of the tongue extends substantially transversely to the folding zone 240 and somehow breaks the continuity of this folding area, which prevents the two wall elements 225a and 225b to fall back against each other. Tab 244, once it is folded as shown in Figure 6, therefore keeps the sleeve in its open configuration.

The tongue 244 remains in its folded position thanks to the relative rigidity of the material which constitutes the sleeve and the hard point formed by the break 240a of the bending zone 240.

The cutout 242 can for example have substantially the shape of a "V" as in the figures, that of an inverted "V" or another form of the same type.

In Figure 6, the tongue 244 is located in the extension 227 of the sleeve which extends outwards beyond the opening 217, this which allows this tab to be folded outwards from the sleeve. It is however possible to choose to fold it towards the inside of the sleeve, and it can be located in the part of the sleeve extending into the pocket.

In the example shown, the tongue 244 is arranged in the sleeve region opposite the free ends of tabs 226.

In the example of FIGS. 4 to 6, the sleeve is made in one single piece and is formed in a wafer which is folded back on itself according to a folding zone 240. As can be seen better in the figure 5, it is also possible to choose not to crush the folding zone 240 to form a real fold only over a height h from the second end 222b of the sleeve, which facilitates the transition from the flattened configuration to the open configuration of the sleeve.

When the bag is intended to be used as urinal, the part upper 27, 127 or 227 of the sleeve can be shaped so as to adapt to the user's gender (male or female), one piece additional adaptation that may be expected.

For male use, the shape of the first end 22a or 222 does not matter, it suffices that the tubular part of the sleeve in the open configuration of the latter has a sufficient diameter.

For female use, as shown in Figures 4 to 6, it is preferable that the first end 222a of the sleeve has an edge concave, symmetrical with respect to the plane of flattening of the sleeve. Thus, for the use of the pocket, the edge of the sleeve can be spread so as to free the urethral meatus by adapting as best as possible to the conformation of the user's gender, without risk of leakage during urination.

As seen in Figure 1, the pocket may have a valve security, for example consisting of several internal sheets arranged against each of the walls of the pocket. In the example shown, this valve thus comprises, for each wall of the pocket, a first pair of sheets 30 which extends from the opening to a middle region of the pocket. The valve also has a second pair of sheets 32 which extends inside the pair 30, also at from the opening, over a slightly shorter length than that of the pair 30. The pair of sheets 30 and the pair of sheets 32 are welded together by regularly spaced solder points 31. The valve finally has a third pair of sheets 34 which extends inside of pair 32 over an even shorter length than that of pair 32 and which is soldered to pairs 30 and 32 by solder points 33 which are regularly spaced and offset from the welding point 31.

In this case, the "internal wall" of the pocket is defined, in the neck region, by the internal faces opposite the two leaves of the innermost pair 34. The sleeve is therefore in contact with these faces internal. Thus, the first (respectively the second) sheets of each pair 30, 32, 34 are sandwiched between a first (respectively a second) wall of the sleeve (plate 25a or 25b) and a first (respectively a second) wall of the envelope external 12. The welds 15a and 15b therefore weld together, of each side of the pocket, a wall of the sleeve, a sheet of each pair 30, 32, 34 and a wall of the envelope 12.

Of course, the pocket provided with the sleeve according to the invention can have a different safety valve or, depending on the applications do not have a valve.

characterized in that the reinforcing element is constituted by a sleeve (22) disposed inside the pouch (10), said sleeve being made from a material whose rigidity is greater than the rigidity of the outside wall of the pouch, this sleeve (22) extending, in a first direction, in the collar (16) from a first end (22a ; 222a) located in the vicinity of the opening (17), up to a second end (22b ; 222b) located towards the widened part (18), in that the sleeve presents, in the vicinity of the base (16b) of the collar (16) joined to the widened part (18), a cut out (24 ; 224) on either side of which are defined a first portion (23a) located towards the first end (22a ; 222a) of the sleeve and a second portion (23b) located towards the second end (22b ; 222b) of said sleeve, the second portion (23b) being provided with at least two tabs (26 ; 226) that are substantially transverse to the first direction and that face each other and which have free lateral ends (26a) and in that, in the flattened configuration of the pouch, the sleeve (22 ; 122 ; 222) is itself flattened and presents two wall elements (25a, 25b ; 225a, 225b) disposed one against the other, while, in order to bring the collar (16) into its substantially tubular configuration and open the opening, the sleeve is capable of being elastically deformed in order to adapt a so-called "open" configuration, in which the first portion (23a) is substantially tubular, while the lateral ends (26a) of the tabs (26 ; 222b) are spaced apart from one another.
  2. A pouch according to Claim 1, characterized in that, the first portion of the sleeve (22 ; 122 ; 222) presenting a longitudinal axis of symmetry (D), the cut-out (24 ; 224) forming the two tabs (26 ; 226) extends at least substantially up to this axis of symmetry (D) from a longitudinal edge (22c) that this sleeve (22 ; 122 ; 222) presents in its flattened configuration.
  3. A pouch according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the sleeve (222) comprises a member (244) for maintaining in open configuration, capable of being actuated to maintain said sleeve in its open configuration.
  4. A pouch according to Claim 3, characterized in that the sleeve presents a zone of fold (240) which joins said two wall elements (225a, 225b) of the sleeve and in that this sleeve presents a tongue (244) formed by a cut-out (242) extending on either side of said zone of fold (240), this tongue being capable of being folded on itself.
  5. A pouch according to Claim 4, characterized in that the tongue (244) extends in a region of the sleeve opposite the free ends of the tabs (226).
  6. A pouch according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the sleeve (222) is formed by a plate folded on itself along a zone of fold (240) on either side of which extend the two wall elements of the sleeve (225a, 225b).
  7. A pouch according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the sleeve (22 ; 122) comprises two similar plates (25a, 25b) fixed inside the pouch, respectively on two opposite inner faces of the pouch, each plate presenting a substantially transverse notch (24a, 24b) on either side of which extend a first and a second portion corresponding respectively to the first and second portions of the sleeve, each plate (25a, 25b) presenting two longitudinal edges respectively located in the vicinity of a first and a second longitudinal edge that the collar presents when the pouch is in its flattened configuration.
  8. A pouch according to any one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the edges (26c) of the tabs (26 ; 226) which face the opening (17) are substantially parallel to the widened portion (18; 12c) of the outer envelope (12) of the pouch (10).
  9. A pouch according to any one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the sleeve (22 ; 122 ; 222) comprises an extension (27 ; 127 ; 227) extending outwardly beyond the opening (17), this extension being provided with means (27a, 27b ; 127a, 127b) for facilitating passage from the flattened configuration to the open configuration.
