Description

The invention relates to a device for conveying printed sheets by at regular intervals on an endless rotating Traction means attached by control means against the force of one Spring in the open position movable gripper, being used as a control means a drivable from a rest position by a handlebar, Actuator acting on a lever arm between the ends of a gripper part is provided that at the end facing away from the gripper part Is pivoted.

Such devices have stations along a conveyor path on, for checking or further processing of the printed sheets allow removal of the printed sheets.

A device of the type described in the opening paragraph is disclosed in US Pat. No. 5,172,802. A stationary hydraulic / mechanical actuator or reversing drive is provided as the control means, the drive shaft of which is connected to a pulley mounted on the frame via a drive belt. An actuating member which causes the gripper opening has a control path which faces the grippers and which, in the operating position, pivots the movable gripper part, so that the gripper opens and releases the clamped product.
This opening takes place by means of a lever gear connected to the actuator, which consists of a one-armed lever connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the pulley and a handlebar connecting it to the actuating member. Lever and handlebar form a knee joint, which is put into a stiffening position for moving the actuating member into the operating position and is bent when the actuating member is in the rest position, the rest position of the actuating member being achieved by the return spring.
As a result, the opening system is exposed to heavy wear and tear due to the sudden stress under relatively high forces, and a shooting-like noise is generated. The object of the present invention is to provide a device of the type mentioned at the outset which is not burdened by abruptly acting high forces and is not acoustically disturbing.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the end of the handlebar facing away from the actuating member is coupled to the circumferential end of a crank connected to a rotary drive.
As a result, forces exerting impacts on the device, which also have a disruptive effect on the environment, are largely avoided and a stepless transition occurs when the opening of the grippers is triggered.

1 and 2 show excerpts of a conveyor 1 or a transporter for transporting printed products 2, which are releasably clamped in their edge area in grippers 3, so that they assume a hanging position during transport.
The conveyor 1 is suspended in a guide arrangement 4 and has a chain-like, endlessly rotating traction means 5, to which the grippers 3, which can be moved into an open or closed position, are fastened at regular intervals. The conveyor device 1 or the guide arrangement 4 runs in spatial changes in direction via at least one processing station, which is not illustrated in the drawing. As the guide arrangement 4, two opposing profile rails 6 are provided, in each of which a roller 7 runs evenly distributed on the longitudinal central axis of the guide arrangement 4 and is freely rotatably supported on a shaft journal which is arranged in the joint axes 8 of the traction means 5 and projects on both sides. The grippers 3 consist of a stationary gripper part 9 fastened to the traction means 5 and a movable gripper part 10, which moves against the spring force (see torsion spring) to open the grippers 3 by means of an actuating member 11 to be described and to a guide rail running along the guide arrangement 4 12 to keep the gripper 3 open.
Fig. 1 shows a gripper 3 in the closed position with a printing sheet 2 in the conveying direction in front of the actuator 11 and an open gripper 3, the movable gripper part 10 has been displaced by the actuator 11 to the guide rail 12, where the gripper 3 in the open state linger for a short time. To actuate the grippers 3, they have a lever arm 13 which is fixedly connected to the movable gripper part 10 and which is provided at the free end with a roller 35 which is acted upon by the actuating member 11 deflected from a rest position and thereby opens the gripper 3 and the roller 35 leads to the guide rail 12. For this purpose, the end of the actuating member 11 is designed as a cam track 14, which ensures an approximately continuous transition of the roller 35 at the free end of the lever arm 13 of the movable gripper part 10 onto the guide rail 12.
The actuating member 11 is designed as a lever and is rotatably mounted with the end facing away from the cam track in a support 15 fastened to the guide arrangement 4 in order to carry out a pivoting movement. For this purpose, a shaft 16 is provided which extends transversely to the longitudinal extent of the guide arrangement 4 and has an actuating member 11 acting on the lever arms 13 of the movable gripper part 10 at both ends. This double-sided design of the device 1 according to the invention is distributed approximately uniformly on the vertical longitudinal center plane of the guide arrangement 4, so that when the grippers 3 are opened there can be no twisting effect on them. The support 15 consists, among other things, of two opposite bearing housings 17 in which the shaft 16 is supported by means of roller bearings 18. The actuating member 11 is each connected to the shaft 16 by a wedge 19 and clamped thereon against axial displacement in a known manner (by means of a clamping hub).
Incidentally, the rest position of the actuating member 11 is shown in FIG. 1 with a dash-dotted line. The actuator 11 is drive-connected to a rotating crank 21 via a link 20. For this purpose, a bore 22 designed as a clamping hub is provided approximately in the middle of the actuating member 11, into which a bearing pin 23 projecting from the actuating member 11 is firmly inserted. This bearing pin 23 is axially immovably locked in the one-sided fork-shaped link 20 by retaining rings 24 and is supported in roller bearings 25. A spacer ring 26 is arranged between each roller bearing 25 and the actuating member 11.
The opposite end of the actuator 11 is supported on a crank pin 27 clamped in the crank 21 and is also roller-mounted and axially secured for this purpose. The crank 21 in turn sits on the drive shaft 28 of an electric motor, servo motor, stepper motor or a stepping device 29 which is controlled for incremental rotary movements. To deflect the actuator 11 from the rest position into the operating position of the device and back, half a crank rotation is provided. The crank 21 can be driven by controlling the electric motor 29 or by means of a stepping drive connected downstream of the electric motor 29, for example by means of a stepping device which can be coupled and braked and which is connected to a permanently rotating electric motor 29.

The stepping device may be a known electromagnetic Mayr clutch and brake unit, that while rotating the electric motor alternately Clutches and brakes are operated and this way opening the grippers via the device according to the invention 3 causes.

On the drive shaft 28 of the stepping device 29 a control rotor 30 attached to a stationary initiator 31 interacts and initiates braking of the crank 21 or keeps the actuator 11 in the rest position. The rest position of the actuator 11 can as in 1 can be changed by moving the initiator 31.

The control rotor 30 is formed as a double vane from two opposing vanes 32, 33, one vane of which initiates the rest position of the actuating member 11 and the other vane initiates the operating position of the actuating member 11.
The start from the rest or operating position of the actuating member 11 takes place via a control of the device, which can be superordinate.
