Abstract

The front lens (2) is secured to the front of the headlamp housing by a flange with locates in a channel around the front edge of the headlamp housing and is secured by a sealing compound. Spring tags (3) fitted to the edge of the housing grip between sloping tags (7) on the mating flanges of the lens and housing and secure the fitting. The tags are sloped in two directions as are the edges of the retaining tags. The overall height of each tag is minimised. Sloping side tags (6) on the clip provide the lateral grip behind the fixed tags for a secure fitting.

Description

The invention relates to a headlight for vehicles, with a housing, with a self-locking connected to the housing translucent End disc, with at least one locking element, which with one of the connecting parts in one piece and transverse to the joining direction of the lens and Housing is designed resilient and with at least one projection, the Locking element automatically engages behind, wherein the locking element for self-locking Connecting housing and lens has a first sliding portion.

Such a headlight for vehicles is known from DE 28 46 990 A1. The the closure disk bearing housing, which of a cup-shaped Reflector is formed, has at the front outer edge of a recording bed for the Disc on. In the receiving bed a sealant is introduced. When Sealant may be a molded or inserted into the receiving bed Strangdichtung, an introduced into the receiving bed adhesive or permanently thick sealant can be used. The locking elements are on the Formed outside of the bed, over the entire circumference of the outer edge of the housing evenly distributed and point in Light exit direction. The lens has at its outer edge portion molded projections, which directed radially to the optical axis to the outside are and engage in an opening of the locking elements. When putting on the Shield on the housing slide their projections on sliding surfaces of Along locking elements. In this case, the locking elements spring so far radially to the optical Axle outwards until they engage behind the projections self-locking. The Although locking elements are not disturbing from the headlight, but can the Unintentionally detach the closure plate from the housing, since the projections of the Shield because of a small travel of the locking elements only with one very small end portion can engage in the openings of the locking elements.

From the German utility model 76 05 088 is a headlight for vehicles become known, in which the locking elements to the outer edge of the Cover disc are formed and in Aufsetzrichtung the lens point. The spring direction of the locking elements extends transversely to a radial of the optical axis. The locking elements engage behind with a laterally projecting End section self-locking a projection of the housing. When placing the Cover disc on the housing to slide the projections of the housing Run-up slopes of the locking elements along until the locking elements, the projections self-locking behind. Here is the spring travel of the locking elements because of their short length and because of their running in the spring direction wide side surfaces tiny. Therefore, a secure tight fit of the lens to the housing not be guaranteed.

The object of the invention is described in the preamble of claim 1 Make headlights for vehicles such that the locking element and then From the headlight as little as possible sticks outward when the case by long sliding surfaces a) is easily and quickly available, b) the travel of the Locking element is as small as possible to a material with low elasticity to be able to use and c) lens and housing by a large Engagement between locking element and projection is securely connected. This task is achieved according to the invention in that the projection a second Sliding portion, which seen in the joining direction in each point in a acute angle to the spring direction of the locking element runs and that of the first Sliding portion of the locking element seen in the spring direction, in each point in one acute angle to the joining direction runs. It is useful if the top Angle to the spring direction away from the headlight and the acute angle to Joining direction is open to the projection. As a lead, one of the Housing or the lens cover outwardly directed edge portion, which performed circumferentially or interrupted in the region of the locking elements can be executed. The locking element and the projection are very little and thus not distracting from the headlamp when the locking element in his Seen spring direction, the projection with at least one laterally projecting End section self-locking behind and a tab is, which with their wide Side faces in the spring direction and at its free end a first Have sliding section. The thinner the tab, the larger the possible spring travel of the locking element. In addition, he must take the lead engaging end portion not thicker than the remaining areas of the tab be executed.

A particularly large engagement between the locking element and the projection exists when viewed in the joining direction of the first sliding portion of the locking element extends in an opened to the headlight acute angle to the spring direction. In this case, the projection must be made correspondingly long radially to the optical axis be.

The locking element and the projection can when joining the lens and Housing approximately with an equal force at each point of their sliding sections abut each other when the second sliding portion of the projection in the joining direction seen and the first sliding portion of the locking element seen in the spring direction, convex.

The joining of lens and housing is with a very small force possible if the laterally projecting from the locking element end portion to a approximately in the joining direction extending desired bending section of the locking element is pivotable. When joining the lens and the housing pivots End portion around the target bending portion to the outside and springs in the desired position in its original position back, in which the end portion of the projection self-locking engages behind.

Between the lens and the housing is a very stable and secure latching connection, when the locking element seen in the spring direction T-shaped is designed, wherein the end portions of the crossbar of the T-shape each one Projection with a second sliding portion engage behind and the longitudinal beam of the T-shape between the two projections extends.

In a headlamp for vehicles, wherein the housing at the outer edge of a Receiving bed for the lens, it is also advantageous if the Detent element at a distance from the receiving bed to the outside of the housing is formed and extends at a distance over the receiving bed away, wherein the projection integrally formed on the outer edge portion of the closure disc is and extends in its longitudinal extent transverse to the joining direction. Here, the Boss be made of a rigid material, such as glass. In addition, the locking element in the joining direction can be made very long and Thus, the spring travel of the locking element at the end portion at a Be sufficient material with low elastic property.
