Definitions
- the present invention relates essentially to a cell for alternative inputs intended for information acquisition circuits, and more particularly in the rail industry.
- EP-A-0 183 406 discloses an alternative input cell according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the present invention aims to provide a cell for alternative inputs intended for circuits of information acquisition, and in particular in the railway sector, which exhibits behavior at least equivalent in terms of security than that of the state technique while keeping its own advantages, which are a smaller footprint, greater ease of maintenance and adaptation as well as longevity superior.
- the present invention aims to propose a cell where the reading in error is carried out always in the direction of safety.
- the present invention also aims to detect failures that could occur in different building blocks of the cell.
- the present invention further aims to minimize influence of variation in characteristics of components used under the influence of an external factor such than a rise in temperature, for example.
- the present invention relates to a cell for alternative inputs containing the characteristics according to claim 1.
- the elements constituting each of two detection devices mentioned above are arranged on a branch, the two branches being arranged in parallel.
- the elements constituting the device of detection for negative alternation are arranged in reverse mounting compared to those constituting the device detection for positive alternation.
- the two detection devices are arranged in series on the same plugged.
- the elements constituting the device detection for negative alternation are mounted in reverse mounting compared to those constituting the device detection for positive alternation.
- each of the optocouplers a resistance in parallel, so as to allow the limitation of the influence of the leakage current of the zener diodes.
- the device according to the present invention is essentially composed of two branches called branches A and B, which respectively include a device detection of a voltage higher than the reference for positive alternation at the input voltage (branch A) and a device for detecting a voltage higher than the reference for the negative alternation of the input voltage (branch B).
- the voltage threshold is achieved by measuring the time during which, during a alternation, the input voltage is higher than the voltage reference. If this time is greater than the time limit predefined, then we consider that the input voltage is sufficient; otherwise, it is considered that there is not enough voltage at the input.
- branches A and B include the same elements, but arranged in a reverse arrangement.
- Branch A which constitutes the detection device for alternation positive, includes a zener diode DZ1, an optocoupler Ul, a diode D2 and a resistor R1, these elements being arranged in series; while branch B which constitutes the detection device for negative alternation includes a zener diode DZ2, an optocopleur U2, a diode D4 and a resistance R3, also arranged in series but according to a reverse mounting.
- the main drawback of this arrangement described in FIG. 2 resides in the fact that the zener diodes DZ1 and DZ2 may have a particularly leaky current important which increases with temperature.
- This provision has the essential advantage to obtain a current threshold.
- Another advantage of this provision is a gain in volume and a gain in security.
- Figure 3 depicts a practical example of a device according to the present invention, using the principles described in figure 2.
- the device described in Figure 3 is a cell 110 volts - 50 Hertz alternative inputs essentially 3 functional blocks arranged in cascade.
- the first block (block I) essentially allows you to limit overvoltages.
- the second block (block II) guarantees consumption in power of the input.
- the third block (block III) achieves the threshold in cell voltage, as well as the galvanic isolation between the input and the output processing chains.
- Block I consists of a varistor VR1, a resistor R5, diodes and spark gaps to protect the surge cell, while block II which ensures minimum nominal consumption (reactive power) consists of a "4-terminal" C4 capacitor coupling the cell input terminals in block III which provides itself the voltage threshold.
- Varistor VR1 clips overvoltages appearing during differential discharges, while resistance R5 limits the amplitude of current spikes in the "4 terminal" capacity C4 during discharges, as well as dV / dt.
- the capacity "4 terminals" C4 must be determined from so as to guarantee a minimum consumption for a voltage input of 50 Hertz given.
- the device for detecting a higher voltage to the reference for the positive alternation of the voltage input, which is located on branch A, is essentially consisting of the elements described in Figures 1 and 2: the diode zener DZ1, the optocoupler U1, the diode D2 and the resistor R1, while the voltage detection device greater than the reference for the negative alternation of the input voltage, which is located on branch B, is essentially made up of the same elements as those described in FIGS. 1 and 2: the zener diode DZ2, the optocoupler U2, diode D4 and resistor R3.
- an F1 or F2 fuse is present in each of branches A or B.
- the main choice criterion for both main optocouplers U1 and U2 is to operate with a LED current as low as possible, to allow dissipate a minimum of power in the series resistors R1 and R3. This also minimizes the contribution of the characteristic of the emission LED in the value of voltage threshold.
- Measuring the conduction time of optocouplers U1 and U2 is done by sampling 32 times at intervals regular 20 milliseconds (therefore corresponding to a frequency of 50 Hertz), the electrical level supplied to output processing chains and counting the number of samples for which there is a logical state "0".
- the processing chain A scrutinizes the voltage on the transmitter Q1, while the chain B is connected to the collector of the output transistor of the optocoupler U2. At the end of each scan cycle, A and B exchange for mutual verification their own value on the number of samples taken while U1 or U2 were conductors.
- the signals useful for leaving the cell are naturally present on the collectors output optocouplers with an output impedance level high for electrical state "1" and an impedance level low for electrical state "0".
- One precaution is then to use only for the processing chain A, a transistor buffer stage reversing the level of output impedances so that this time we have a low impedance level for electrical state "1” and a high impedance level for electrical state "0".
- This characteristic presents the risk of being able perform an "OR" function on the two processing chains logical (from the point of view of the state of the inputs) in case of faults consisting of the appearance of a short circuit between the output signals from different cells.
- This buffer stage is formed by the transistor Q1 and the resistance R6 placed in the treatment chain AT.
