Definitions
- the invention is in the field of hearing aids and relates to a very Hearing aid to be worn according to the preamble of the first independent Claim.
- CIC devices to be worn entirely in the ear canal
- CIC devices CIC for "Completely In the Canal”
- the amplifier is usually integrated Circuit (chip) trained and can in addition to the amplifier function Take control functions and / or be programmable.
- the hearing aid can also have a receiving coil for receiving signals for remote control of the device or to receive radio and telephone signals exhibit.
- the hearing aid can also be used only for radio reception and then only has a receiving coil and no microphone.
- the CIC hearing aid like any other hearing aid, must have elements have and is advantageously as close as possible to the ear canal adapted to the individual wearer.
- CIC hearing aids by casting a body in the ear canal itself or in an ear canal model can be adapted to an individual ear canal, are for example in the publication EP-629101 and in a parallel application to the present application (Swiss application No. 1859/96).
- the devices do not yet indicate an individual ear canal adapted condition essentially by a stretchable membrane delimited casting cavity, which by a Pouring opening in the area of the front panel can be poured out with a casting compound is.
- an individualized hearing aid that takes the form of a irregular truncated cone or cylinder with an outer end face, has an inner end face and a lateral surface, the outer end face is formed by the front panel, the inner end face essentially through the output side of the speaker and the outer surface the body covered by the membrane and adapted to the ear canal.
- the main difference between a CIC device and other hearing aids is that it extends much deeper into the ear canal when worn. Out This position deep in the ear canal gives rise to two main advantages, an acoustic one and an aesthetic.
- the acoustic advantage is that the Space between the eardrum and the inner end of the hearing aid is smaller, which improves the sound quality and the necessary amplification, the means the energy required for operation is reduced.
- the aesthetic is that the device is less visible.
- a problem, that arises from the position deep in the ear canal is that the Device reaches into the bony part of the ear canal, which is bony Part of the ear canal is extremely sensitive to touch and pressure points.
- the CIC hearing aid adapted to an individual ear canal as closely as possible would be, its innermost part with the ear canal wall as little as possible Contact would come.
- the individualization process should be easy to carry out, in particular the cast body do not need to be reworked.
- the hearing aid according to the invention has the means before casting the body in the area of its inner end face a positioning attachment that radially surrounds the innermost part of the device and possibly also towered axially. So the positioning attachment has essentially the shape of a tube or a cap and is made of one material made as skin-friendly as possible.
- the positioning attachment ensures that the innermost part of the hearing aid is essentially centered in the ear canal, and if necessary also to ensure that the body to be cast is in this area cannot expand to the ear canal wall. After watering the positioning attachment is removed from the body.
- the hearing aid which is adapted to the ear canal, ensures the individualized hearing aid Body for a precisely defined position in the ear canal, which is essentially corresponds to the position of the general device.
- the innermost Part of the device the same position, whereby by the removed positioning attachment a distance between the ear canal wall around the innermost part of the device and device is maintained.
- a part of the positioning attachment axially projecting over the innermost part of the hearing aid can also serve as a tampon, i.e. as a means of ensuring that the general The device is not pushed too close to the eardrum.
- the positioning attachment is, for example, by means of appropriate positive locking means reversibly attached to the hearing aid in the area of the inner end face. He can also by means of the projecting over the inner end face of a hearing aid Part of a preliminary support element to be attached to the device. After this Pouring the body, the positioning attachment is also removed and if necessary replaced by a protective cover for the output side of the speaker.
- Figure 1 shows a schematic section of an example of a CIC hearing aid according to the invention, which can be customized by casting a body.
- the cutting plane runs parallel to the axis of the device.
- the hearing aid is shown in its general state, that is to say it has it not yet a body that is adapted to an individual ear canal.
- the device itself except for the positioning attachment, which is in the area of the inner End face is placed on the device is in the parallel application already mentioned described in detail for the present application, so here a detailed description can be dispensed with.
- the hearing aid shown has, for example, elements serving as the hearing function a microphone 10, an amplifier chip 11 and a loudspeaker 12 on.
- the device also has a front plate 13 with a battery opening on, the front panel 13 essentially the outer end face of the Device and the output side of the speaker 12 essentially the represents the inner face of the device.
- An expandable membrane 14 extends essentially tubular from the outer to the inner end face and represents the outer surface of the device.
- the membrane 14 delimits one Casting cavity 15, for example through a pouring opening 17 in a Casting template 16 is pourable with a casting compound.
- the casting template 16 is positioned in the battery opening of the front panel 13 and serves primarily in addition, a battery compartment between the body to be cast and the front plate 13 keep clear.
- the general hearing aid also has a provisional support element 18 on the outside and on the inside face of the device protrudes and is removed from it after casting the body. So that Loudspeaker 12 occupies a defined position relative to the front panel 13, a connecting means 19 is provided in the area of the inner end face, positioned relative to each other by the loudspeaker and trunk element will.
- the provisional support element has a load-bearing one in the general condition of the device and the function of positioning the components relative to each other. Further it limits the axial length of the device so that this length when Pouring the body does not enlarge and thus the inner parts of the Device can be pushed against the eardrum. It shows, that the length-limiting function is the most important and that in many cases the supporting and positioning function can be dispensed with. In these cases, a flexible, length-limiting can be used instead of the provisional support element Element are used, for example a kind of string and from the front plate to the inner one, which forms the vent channel Front, also flexible pipe runs. Both a preliminary Support element as well as a flexible, length-limiting element is removed after casting the body.
- a front panel with a battery opening and an im general condition of the casting template closing the battery opening have a front panel with an indentation in the shape of a battery compartment.
- This battery compartment has a pouring opening for casting the body and optionally a ventilation opening, with the pouring opening a pouring hose can be connected up to the inner
- the end face of the hearing aid is sufficient and ensures that the body from the side of the inner face against the outer face is poured.
- a positioning attachment in the area of its inner end face 20, which in FIG. 1, for example, as a cap 21 with molded on it Tampon 22 is shown.
- the positioning attachment 20 encloses the innermost part of the hearing aid radially and has a diameter, which is smaller than the inner diameter of the inner part of a normal one Ear canal.
- the positioning attachment 20 of the hearing device of FIG. 1 is in the range of inner end face of the device on the preliminary support member 18 or on a appropriate, flexible and length-limiting element attached.
- the end of the support element 18 projecting over the inner end face is, for example poured into the positioning attachment 20 or the flexible, length-limiting Element represents an extension of the positioning attachment.
- Additional are on the end face side of the connecting means 19 and / or on Positioning attachment advantageously provided form-fitting means 23 with which the positioning attachment is attached to the connecting means 19.
- In the Figure are exemplary positive locking means 23 in the form of groove and comb shown.
- the positive locking means can also be used as a snap lock for others Be trained.
- the positioning attachment 20 of the hearing aid according to FIG. 1 projects above the connecting means 19 in the axial direction not only in the direction of the eardrum but also in the opposite direction (against the front panel 13). That means in an area 24 it takes over the function of the casting mold when casting the body and prevents radial in this area Expansion of the membrane 14 up to the ear canal wall.
- the positioning attachment 20 consists, for example, of a thermoplastic Elastomers or from a polyurethane and is advantageously in one Injection molding process made. With a multi-material injection molding process it is easily possible, not just a temporary support element 18 in the form of a metal wire, but it is also possible for example pouring two different materials together, So for example a foamed material for the tampon 22 and unfoamed material for the cap 21 or two correspondingly different soft materials.
- the tampon can also consist of cotton wool.
- FIG. 2 shows a detailed section (same sectional plane as in FIG. 1) through the innermost part of the hearing device according to FIG. 1.
- the hearing device is shown in its individualized state, that is to say it now has a body 30 surrounded by the membrane 14 on the jacket side
- the provisional support element 18 or flexible length-limiting element and the positioning attachment 20 are also removed.
- the device now has a vent channel 25 passing through the device essentially in the axial direction (kept free in the cast body by the provisional support element 18 or by a tube forming the vent channel, which is not removed) and an innermost part which has a smaller diameter than that Rest of the device.
- the output side of the loudspeaker 12 and the output of the vent channel 25 are covered by a finely perforated loudspeaker cover 26, which has the same form-fitting means as the positioning attachment 20 and is therefore fastened to the connecting means 19.
- This loudspeaker cover 26 protects the output side of the loudspeaker 12 and the outlet of the vent channel 25 against contamination and / or clogging by cerumen.
- the loudspeaker cover 26 can also be removed from the device and can therefore be replaced when it is dirty.
- Variants of the hearing aid of FIGS. 1 and 2 can be found therein, for example exist that the positioning attachment 20 only on the connecting means 19 or is only attached to the provisional support element 18 that it does not have a tampon 22 has that it is not designed as a closed cap but as a tube and that it does not protrude the connecting element 19 against the body 15.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 show further exemplary embodiments of hearing aids with positioning attachments, the innermost part of the device in its general state being shown as a section parallel to the device axis.
- Figure 3 shows a very simple embodiment, in which the positioning attachment 20 in addition to its main function, which consists in positioning (centering) the innermost part of the general device in the ear canal, also the function of a provisional attachment of the membrane 14 to the loudspeaker 12 and if necessary, even the provisional positioning of provisional support element 18 and loudspeaker.
- the positioning attachment 20 in addition to its main function, which consists in positioning (centering) the innermost part of the general device in the ear canal, also the function of a provisional attachment of the membrane 14 to the loudspeaker 12 and if necessary, even the provisional positioning of provisional support element 18 and loudspeaker.
- the positioning attachment 20 is again shown as a cap 21. That cap 21 is dimensioned such that it extends over the output side of the speaker 12 is stretched elastically so that it is by elastic frictional connection is attached to the speaker 12. Between speaker 12 and cap 21 is the membrane 14, which is advantageously uninterrupted via the output side of the loudspeaker 12 runs, positioned and the provisional support element, for a sleeve attached to the loudspeaker 12, if applicable (not shown) is provided.
- the support member 18 can through the cap 21 run and act as an additional fastening element of the cap 21 and also wear a tampon 22.
- FIG. 4 illustrates on the one hand a tubular positioning attachment and on the other hand it shows that a hearing aid with a permanent (instead of provisional) support element can also be provided with a positioning attachment.
- Hearing aids with permanent carrying elements that are not removed after individualization are described, for example, in the publication EP-629101 already mentioned. They have a so-called skeleton, which consists of an outer element (front plate, not shown), an inner element 41 and a middle skeletal element 40 connecting the two skeletal elements.
- the simple, tubular positioning attachment 20 is simply placed over the inner skeleton element 41 and fastened to it by means of an elastic connection.
- FIGS. 1 to 4 are the same Hearing aids and positioning attachments also in other than that shown Can be meaningfully combined.
