No 2 715 767.This type of differential protection electrical device is located in particular described in the French patent application which, filed on February 2 1994 under No. 94 01134, was published under No. 2 715 767.
In this French patent application, the electrical appliance differential protection in question is more specifically a differential circuit breaker, its breaking part comprising, in association with the phase circuit, two triggers, namely a thermal, bimetal type trigger and a electromagnetic type trigger, with excitation coil, which both control the circuit breaker mechanism.
In addition, in this French patent application, the input terminals and of the phase and neutral circuits extend on two opposite faces of the insulating housing, being in practice all arranged on the side of the part of cut.
More specifically, in the present case, a modular electrical device, i.e. a device electric whose insulating housing is in a form general parallelepiped, with two main faces parallel, and, on the edge, a rear face, two faces side, and a front face, the input terminals intervene on one of the side faces of this insulating housing and the output terminals on the other of these.
Now it turns out that, at least for some installations, it can be advantageous, especially for facilitate wiring, as input and output terminals operate on the same side face of the insulating housing.
The present invention generally has for object a provision which, while allowing, the benefit some standardization, and therefore a reduction in costs, to keep the general organization of the device differential protection electric described in the request French Patent No. 94,01134 mentioned above, allows also that the output terminals of the phase and neutral are on the same side of the insulating box and conduit in addition to other advantages.
More specifically, it relates to a device differential protection electric of the kind described above and characterized in that the output terminals of the phase and neutral circuits intervene in the part of differential protection, on the other side of the toroid of the differential transformer with respect to the crossings by which these phase and neutral circuits pass through through the insulating wall, and open on the outside on the same side face of the case insulating as their input terminals.
In other words, the toroid of the differential transformer extends between these crossings and the output terminals.
In addition, instead of four when these terminals of outlet are on the cut-off side, it is no longer only need two crossings for the passage of the circuits of phase and neutral through the insulating partition, to the benefit a simplification of construction, and therefore a cost reduction.
Finally, and in particular because of the removal of two of these crossings, the cutting part comprises, between the input terminals of the phase and neutral circuits and the remaining crossings, enough space for there to be be installed, if desired, in association with the phase, at least one electromagnetic type trigger.
The electrical device according to the invention is then a Differential Switch.
But the space in the cut-off part is also sufficient for it to be implanted there, if desired, a another trigger, thermal type.
The electrical device according to the invention is then a differential circuit breaker.
Thus, the arrangement according to the invention allows advantageously to carry out, with the choice, with the same basic organization, and therefore with common constituents, either a differential switch or a circuit breaker differential.
In the case of a differential switch, this differential switch can also very simply result from a residual current device whose trip device thermal type has been eliminated or deactivated, deactivation which can for example result from a simple cutting of the active end of its bimetallic strip.
In all cases, among the common constituents, figure, in particular, the cover of the insulating housing, this cover can advantageously present each time the same dimensions, only being placed accordingly the holes giving access to the cable entries of the input and output terminals of the phase and neutral circuits and those giving access to the head of their clamping screws.
Preferably, these input and output terminals acting on the same side face of the insulating housing, it is planned, in the vicinity of the holes giving access to the head of their tightening screws, a mark to distinguish those of these terminals which are the input terminals and those which are the output terminals.
Préférentiellement, également, le tore du transformateur différentiel appartient à un sous-ensemble auquel appartiennent, également, d'une part, les enroulements primaires des circuits de phase et de neutre passés sur ce tore, et, d'autre part, un bornier comportant, dans un corps isolant qui affleure avec la face latérale correspondante du boítier isolant, les bornes de sortie des circuits de phase et de neutre, déjà reliées, chacune respectivement, aux enroulements primaires de ceux-ci.Preferably, also, the torus of the differential transformer belongs to a subset to which also belong, on the one hand, the windings of the phase and neutral circuits passed on this torus, and, on the other hand, a terminal block comprising, in a body insulation which is flush with the corresponding side face of the insulating box, the output terminals of the phase circuits and neutral, already connected, each respectively, to primary windings of these.
By the prior concretization of such sub-assembly, the assembly of the assembly is advantageously simplified.

If, moreover, in the European patent application No EP 0 530 392 A, there is indeed an insulating partition between a breaking part and a protection part differential, this insulating partition does not extend over all the length of the box concerned, so that the terminals of exit do not intervene in the protection part differential but in separate compartments of it.
En outre, dans cette demande de brevet européen, ne se trouvent explicités ni un quelconque mécanisme de coupe-circuit, ni un quelconque mécanisme de déclenchement couplé à celui-ci.Furthermore, in this European patent application, no find explicit or any mechanism for circuit breaker or any tripping mechanism coupled with this one.
