Definitions
- the present invention relates to a push button of the type comprising in a body a pusher and a housing at the bottom of which are arranged a first part fixed contact with opening, a second fixed contact piece with closing and a third fixed common contact part, the pusher being movable between two positions along a sliding axis and requesting a washer capable of tilt on pivots defining a support line substantially perpendicular to the axis of sliding.
- actuation of the push button causes the washer from a stable first position where it is applied to the first and the third contact pieces to a second stable position where it is applied to the second and third contact pieces, and vice versa, so as to obtain a operation of the push button in reverse.
- Patent FR-2,478,366 describes a push button of this type. There are some disadvantages, especially when switching an arc effect on the contact of common, which serves as a pivot point, and a fretting-corrosion phenomenon on the pivot zone specific to this contact, which alter the life of the push button.
- the object of the invention is to avoid these drawbacks in a reversing push button of the type described to increase in particular its longevity.
- the support axis is defined by two pivots electrically isolated by compared to the three contact pieces, and the third contact piece has two Separate contact points located on either side of the support line to be implemented each exclusively in one of the positions washer.
- the third contact piece is a U-shaped piece whose branches end with the aforementioned separate contact points and the core of which serves connection zone with the common terminal. It is more particularly advantageous the first and second contact parts are U-shaped parts identical to the third contact part.
- Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a push button according to the invention.
- Figure 2 is a bottom view of the push button.
- Figure 3 shows a top view of the bottom of the housing of the push button.
- Figure 4 is a view of the push button in section along the plane P.
- Figures 5 to 7 are elevational views with partial cutaway of the push button in two stable states and a transient operating state.
- Figures 8 to 10 show a top view of the bottom of the push button housing in the operating states corresponding to the respective figures 5 to 7.
- Figure 11 shows in perspective a contact piece.
- the push button shown in the figures is of the monolithic type, that is to say accommodates in the same body A a push button B and the fixed and movable contacts actuated by this pusher.
- Body A has a cylindrical outer shape and is housed inside a housing 10 also cylindrical at the bottom 11 of which are located three parts contact lights C1, C2, C3.
- Pusher B is of the type with two stable positions; it turns moves along a sliding axis X1 and acts, via two elements thrust R1, R2 constituted by springs of unequal lengths and forces, on a tilting washer D.
- the washer D is an electrically conductive thin piece and constitutes in a sort of movable contact bridge arranged tilting on two pivots 14,15 determining a support line X2, substantially orthogonal to the axis X1 and contained in a plane P which passes through the axis X1; the pivots 14,15 are electrically insulated by with respect to contact parts C1-C3, preferably by being formed by projections insulators of the body A.
- the height of the pivots 14,15 relative to the contact parts C1-C3 and / or the shape of the bearing zones of the washer D on the parts C1-C3 are such that the washer may briefly disengage from all of the parts contact during its tilting.
- pivot 14 located near the parts of contact C1-C2 can be higher than these and pivot 15 located near the workpiece contact C3 may be higher than this; the washer can also have a shape convex towards the bottom 11 of the housing of the body A.
- the pivot 14 is slightly higher than pivot 15.
- the washer D offers two stable positions correlative to those of the pusher B of so as to ensure, in the extended position of pusher B, the connection between the parts contact C1, C3 and, in the depressed position of push-button B, the connection between the contact parts C2, C3. Switching the washer D from a stable position to the other is carried out by means of the two springs R1, R2 as described in the patent FR-2 478 366.
- the long and weak spring R1 is applicable by its lower end to an area D1 of the washer D, while the short and strong spring R2 is applicable on a zone D2 of the washer. Zones D1 and D2 are located on either side of the plane P, respectively on the side of the pieces of contact C1 and C2.
- Contact C1 is for example an opening contact (normally closed), the contact C2 a normally closed contact and contact C3 a contact of common potential, the contacts C1-C3 being linked to respective screw terminals E1, E2, E3.
- Each screw terminal E comprises a screw 21 with a clamping plate 22.
- the screws are accessible through the bottom 16 of the push button and the conductors are introduced through lateral openings 17 of the body A or the screws are accessible through openings on the side of the body and the conductors are introduced through the bottom 16.
- Each contact piece C1-C3 is a conductive piece 24 folded into a U shape immobilized when the push button is assembled; the branches 25.26 of these pieces constitute at their ends contact points C11, C12; C21, C22; C31, C32 and the core 27 of these parts is tapped with an orifice 28 which cooperates with the thread of the screws to form a connection pad for the external conductor to be connected.
- the two branches of contact C3 are electrically useful, while only one branch of each contact C1, C2 is electrically useful.
- the contact parts C1, C2 can of course be formed so as to present only one point of contact.
- the indicated conformation of C1 and C2 offers however the advantage of being homogeneous with that of C3 and allowing maintenance satisfactory of all the contact parts by the positioning of their two branches 25.26 in adapted passages 29.30 from the bottom 11 of the housing 10.
- push-button B is in its stable position output shown in Figures 5 and 8.
- the long and weak spring R1 is applied by its lower end to the area D1 of the washer D, while the short and strong spring R2 is not applied or is applied only weakly on the area D2 of the washer.
- the washer D is therefore supported on the pivot 14 close to C1, C2, on the contact point C31 located at the free end 26 of the common part C3 and on the contact point C12 at the free end of branch 25 of part C1 of the contact at opening.
- the washer D is not in contact with the part C2 of the closing contact; Moreover, it is not supported on the pivot 15, because its zone D3 is slightly separated from this one. The connection is therefore established between terminals E1, E3 and interrupted between terminals E2, E3.
- the switching takes place in a way double cut, because we first cut a connection (for example C1, C3) before establish the other connection (for example C2, C3) by briefly disconnecting from the contact of common C3, and that on the other hand the function of pivoting of the electrical conduction function at the common contact.
- a connection for example C1, C3
- the other connection for example C2, C3
