Description
Vorrichtung zur Messung und/oder Kontrolle eines FlüssigkeitsniveausDevice for measuring and / or checking a liquid level
The invention relates to a device for measuring and / or checking a liquid level in a reservoir, wherein at least a minimum and / or maximum level can be represented by the device being insertable into an opening of the reservoir.
Devices for measuring and / or checking liquid mirrors have hitherto been known, in which a measuring rod can be immersed in a liquid reservoir via a tubular opening. Devices of this type are preferably used for checking the oil of petrol and diesel engines. An oil dipstick is inserted into the opening to remain. To check the oil level, this oil dipstick is pulled out, wiped off and put back into the tubular opening, so that the oil level then wets and read the oil dipstick. The disadvantage here is that each time oil is wiped from the reservoir into the atmosphere by wiping the dipstick, this principle is not ecologically justifiable, and there is also a risk of contamination. Level measuring rods are also known (for example DE-OS 40 27 286) in which a cleaning device is arranged in the lower region of the measuring rod. This cleaning device works together with the tubular element associated with the oil pan or the engine. The cleaning device must therefore be adapted to the respective construction. There is therefore no universal use. A further disadvantage is that the extensive construction of the cleaning device is contaminated with residual oil after the rod has been pulled out, so that this device is ecologically unsafe.
The object of the invention is to provide a device for measuring and / or checking a liquid level, which is not only easy to handle, but at the same time is directly readable and ecologically harmless.
To achieve this object, it is provided according to the invention that an element is arranged within the tubular body, which element extends into the region of the handle, and that the element extends from the handle, penetrating the tubular body, into the reservoir. It is advantageous here that the measuring means are connected directly to the handle, and at the same time a cleaning device can be used which, after the device has been pulled out of the reservoir, allows the actual level to be read off immediately.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, it is provided that the handle and the measuring means form a unit and the cleaning device is connected to this unit. A further embodiment provides that an at least partially cylindrical element is provided as the measuring means. The element can be surrounded by a sleeve-shaped body. The sleeve-shaped body can also be made at least partially from flexible material, so that correspondingly curved designs are also possible.
An embodiment which is favorable in terms of production engineering provides that the sleeve-shaped body is provided with at least one recess through which the measurement of the liquid level can be carried out.
A structurally simple and technically favorable embodiment of the cleaning device is provided in that the cylindrical element connected to the handle is arranged so as to be relatively movable relative to the sleeve-shaped body.
A further embodiment provides that an element provided with a cross-section deviating from the circular cross-section is provided as measuring means and a body surrounding the element can be moved relatively axially relative to the element.
Wischkanten versehen. In an advantageous embodiment, the body is designed as a cleaning device. According to a further embodiment, the body can be provided with wiper strips or wiping edges.
A perfect return of the liquid before the measuring process is given if the recess is provided with drainage channels on the side facing the liquid level. A permanent opening can also be provided as the drainage channel, so that the liquid on the element can be fed to the reservoir without resistance.
According to a further design, it is provided that the body is formed in two parts, the two parts being connected to one another via a snap connection.
The two parts of the body are provided with an anti-rotation device to ensure that the cleaning device functions properly.
In order to produce a curved design, it is advantageously provided that a tube spring is provided as the flexible material. The tube spring consists, for example, of a helical wire through the cavity of which the element for measurement can be passed.
Tubular elements and / or at least partially flexible metal elements are provided as the element.
As a further essential feature it is provided that the tubular body has limit stops for the element in at least one direction of movement of the element.
In a further embodiment, it can be provided that the element is supported against the tubular body by at least one spring. Preferred exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown schematically in the drawings.

The device and / or control of a liquid level (shown in broken lines) in a reservoir (not shown) shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 essentially consists of the handle 2, which is connected to a tubular element 5, the cylindrical element 5 is surrounded by a sleeve-shaped body 6. A recess 7 is provided in the sleeve-shaped body 6, which forms the measuring device 3 together with the cylindrical element 5. In addition, the side edges of the recess 7 form the cleaning device 4 in this exemplary embodiment.
If the device 1 is immersed in a reservoir and the handle 2 is rotated together with the cylindrical element 5 in the idle state and the sleeve-shaped body 6 remains in its position, the liquid to be measured is stripped off at the side edges of the recess 7, so that the actual liquid level wets the cylindrical element 5. When the handle 2 is subsequently pulled out together with the sleeve-shaped body 6, the actual liquid level of the reservoir can be read directly on the cylindrical element 5 within the recess 7 without any further handles. Before the liquid level is measured or checked, no cleaning process outside the liquid reservoir is necessary.
A detail can be seen from FIG. 4, in which the handle 2 is connected to the cylindrical element 5. Both parts are arranged together in the sleeve-shaped body 6, the sleeve-shaped body 6 being arranged via a seal 13 in the tubular extension 14 and being sealed off from the atmosphere. Due to the friction of the seal 13, the handle 2 can be rotated together with the cylindrical element 5 relative to the sleeve-shaped body 6, so that the handle 2 is then together can be pulled out of the tubular extension 14 with the element 5 and the body 6.
Wischkanten 8, so daß eine Reinigung des zylindrischen Elementes 5 gegeben ist.FIG. 5 shows an exemplary embodiment of the lower region of the cylindrical element 5 and of the tubular body 6, as can be used, for example, with an upper part according to FIG. 4. The cylindrical element 5 can be rotated relative to the tubular body 6, but not axially displaced, since the snap ring 15 is provided as an axial securing device. The recess 7 serves as a measuring window, with the rotation of the cylindrical element 5 first allowing cleaning and then measuring or checking the liquid level. The side walls of the recess 7 serve as wiper strips 8 or wiper edges 8, so that the cylindrical element 5 is cleaned.
In the embodiments according to Figures 6 and 7, a handle 2 is shown, which is formed in one piece together with the cylindrical element 5 and in the area of the lock in a e.g. tubular extension provides a plastic part encapsulation, which is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner against the cylindrical element 5 by a pinch 16.
The cylindrical element 5 is led out of the handle 2 to the outside, the handle 2 forms together with the sleeve-shaped body 6, the cleaning device by axially moving the cylindrical element 5 relative to the sleeve-shaped body 6 is formed. After the cylindrical element 5 has been partially pulled out once, the measuring means 3 are cleaned, so that the handle 2 together with the element 5 and the body 6 can then be pulled out, so that a reading of the liquid level can be carried out with one hand.
Die Bedienung entspricht ansonsten dem in Figur 8 bis 10 dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel.FIG. 11 shows a device according to FIGS. 8 to 10, with the difference that the handle 2 can be formed in one piece together with the cylindrical element 5 and can be held in position relative to the sleeve-shaped body by means of a rotary lock 17. The operation otherwise corresponds to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 to 10.
Die Figur 14 zeigt im Unterschied zu den Figuren 1 bis 13, daß ebenfalls Aus¬ führungsformen von Elementen 5 und Körpern 6 mit einem vom Kreisquerschnitt abweichenden Querschnitt ohne weiteres ausführbar sind.FIG. 12 shows a sleeve-shaped body 6 at the lower end of which the measuring means or the cleaning device 3 or 4 are arranged via a snap connection 11. The measuring means 3 in turn have a recess 7, the lower end of which is provided with a permanent opening 10 so that the liquid to be measured can drip into the reservoir without resistance. To clean the measuring device 3, wiper strips 8 and drainage channels 9 are again provided. A similar device is shown in FIG. 13, in which the lower region is fixed relative to the sleeve-shaped body 6 via an anti-rotation device 12. This device is again provided with wiping edges 8 and drainage channels 9. The measuring principle also in these embodiments is that the liquid to be measured leaves a liquid film on the cylindrical element 5, so that the height of the liquid level can be read off without problems. In contrast to FIGS. 1 to 13, FIG. 14 shows that embodiments of elements 5 and bodies 6 with a cross section deviating from the circular cross section can also be easily implemented.
Wird der Handgriff 2 ausgefahren, so läßt sich der Endbereich des Elementes 5 gegenüber dem Körper 6 reinigen und zur eigentlichen Messung vorbereiten.FIG. 15 shows a device 1 in which the tubular body 6 consists at least partially of an elastic tube spring 18, so that measuring points are also accessible through bent tubes. The tube spring 18 is held in its two end regions on solid tubular bodies 6. The lower end of the tubular body 6 forms, together with the element 5, the measuring device, the element 5 being formed over the length with different diameters. On the end of the body 6 facing the handle, a handle element 19 is formed which serves to hold the actual handle 2. The handle 2 is axially movable in the handle element 19, as can be seen in FIG. 16. If the handle 2 is extended, the end region of the element 5 relative to the body 6 can be cleaned and prepared for the actual measurement.
A device 1 is shown in FIGS. 17 to 20, in which an arcuate tube 20 is immersed in a reservoir. The device according to FIGS. 15 and 16 with a central flexible area can be introduced into such bent tubes 20 according to FIGS. 17 to 20, so that according to FIG. 18 the measuring point has to be cleaned first, then as shown in FIG. 19, the element 5 can be removed together with the body 6 and the handle 2. FIG. 20 shows the device which has been pulled out, so that it is then possible to read off the liquid level in the reservoir. FIG. 21 shows an embodiment of an element 5 together with a rectangular tube spring 18. The element 5 is also rectangular and shows a so-called measuring window 21, while the bent end region of the element 5 works as a spacer. The spacer prevents streaking on the measuring window 21 and at the same time forms an end stop, so that the user can recognize when the cleaning was carried out and when the measuring process can then begin.
A further embodiment can be seen in FIG. 22, in which a rectangular element 5 is arranged in a round tube spring 18. Otherwise this principle corresponds to that already shown in FIG. 21.
Further embodiments are shown in FIGS. 23 to 26, FIG. 23 having a body 6, in the interior of which a stop 22 for the element 5 is arranged. FIG. 24 also shows a spring 23 which, when element 5 is retracted, ensures positioning in the original position.
A similar element is shown in principle in FIGS. 25 and 26, with the difference that the stop 22 in the region of the handle 2 and the return spring 23 are likewise arranged in this region (FIG. 26). The function itself corresponds to the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 23 and 24.
Die partiellen Umgreifungen sind in Form von Laschen 24 ausge¬ führt.FIG. 27 shows a body 6 as a flat element, which at least partially encompasses the element 5 in order to guide the element 5 guarantee. The partial encirclements are in the form of tabs 24.
A similar device 1 is shown in FIG. 28, in which bodies 6 in flat form are assigned to the element 5 on both sides, with a perfect axial guidance for the element 5 via an elongated hole 25 in the element 5 and a corresponding riveting in the bodies 6 can be achieved. By designing a correspondingly long slot 25, the stroke of the element 5 can be limited in both directions.
