Dans le cadre de cette invention, l'écran de tambour est constitué d'un certain nombre de protubérances axiales de support, et les dispositifs permettant d'extraire des matières retenues à l'intérieur de l'écran de tambour (2) sont constitués d'une canalisation ouverte de décharge de matières s'étendant longitudinalement dans la partie supérieure de l'écran de tambour, pour la réception, lors de sa rotation, des matières soulevées par les dites protubérances de support. A cela viennent s'ajouter des organes placés au-dessus de la canalisation (16) de décharge de matières et servant au nettoyage de celle-ci depuis l'extérieur de l'écran de tambour.
