Definitions
- the invention relates to a shower head for a hand and / or stationary shower head with a housing which can be connected to the water supply and forms at least one water chamber and a base part, the base part having at least on one outer jacket region a ring element made of rubber-elastic material which has a plurality of on the outer circumference Has grooves for the generation of shower jets, wherein the ring element rests with at least a part of its outer jacket on a receiving bore.
- Such a shower head is known, for example, from US Pat. No. 3,826,429.
- limescale deposits can form in the area of the shower jet-forming grooves or openings, which impair the shower jet formation.
- These limescale deposits or lime incrustations in the grooves or openings are mainly caused by the fact that the water drop adhering to the outlet area of an opening dries out when the shower is not in use.
- the lime crystals are deposited at the exit end of the opening or groove and harden, depending on the drying time, to a greater or lesser extent.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of improving the shower head specified in the preamble of claim 1, so that the incrustations formed in the grooves of the shower head can be removed relatively easily by the shower user.
- the ring element projects with a collar downstream over the base part acting as a support plate, so that limescale deposits in the grooves can be removed by wiping or flexing the collar.
- the ring element according to the invention can be arranged both on a fixed base part arranged in the housing of the shower head and on a base part which can be moved axially relative to the housing of the shower head, for example in order to change the spray pattern of the shower head and / or to change the cross section of the individual shower jets, so that, for example, shower jets of different hardness can be generated.
- the bore part of the shower head which interacts with the ring element can also be lined with a rubber-elastic material.
- the base part can also be made entirely of a rubber-elastic material, in which case the supporting area of the base part - in order to have the required rigidity - is correspondingly thick-walled and / or support bodies made of rigid material, such as metal, are provided (vulcanized) in the base part .
- a shower head of a stationary shower is shown.
- the shower head is essentially formed by a housing 1 and a base part 2 with a ring element 3.
- a spherical head 11 is coaxial to the central axis 10 at the upstream end region of the housing 1 intended for stationary attachment to a water supply line in a building wall (not shown in the drawing).
- the shower water supplied passes through the ball head 11 into a water chamber 12 of the housing 1.
- a hollow cylinder 13 is formed coaxially in the housing 1, the upstream end of which is closed. Radial openings 130 are formed in the side wall of the hollow cylinder 13 projecting into the water chamber 12, through which the water in the water chamber 12 can flow into the hollow cylinder 13.
- a hollow piston 14 is arranged axially displaceably in the hollow cylinder 13, the bottom part 2 being fastened to the downstream end region with a hollow screw 21, which at the same time forms a nozzle 210 for shaping a massage jet.
- the hollow piston 14 is axially displaceably arranged in the housing 1 with a movement thread 141, wherein in the movement thread 141 axial slots 1410 are provided for the passage of water.
- a rotary ring 15 is also rotatably attached to the housing 1, which on the other hand is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the downstream end region of the hollow piston 14 via ribs 151.
- the rotary ring 15 also has a bore 16 for receiving the outer shell of the ring element 3. It also carries a grip ring 152 with which the user can set the desired position of the hollow piston 14 with the base part 2 relative to the housing 1 and the bore 16.
- the base part 2 carries on its outer casing the ring element 3 made of rubber-elastic material with a material hardness of Shore A 35 to 50.
- a plurality of grooves 33 are arranged on the outer casing of the ring element 3, the base 310 of which is arranged inclined to the central axis 10.
- a circumferential collar 30 is formed on the downstream end face of the ring element 3, the protruding length 300 of the base part 2 being approximately 2 mm.
- the collar 30 is tapered in the direction of flow of the water, so that the downstream wall thickness 301 is approximately 0.5 mm.
- the individual grooves 33 form with the wall of the bore 16 in the rotating ring 15 jet-forming nozzles for the individual shower jets, the cross section of the grooves 33 being square or rectangular depending on the depth of immersion of the shower base 2 in the shower head or the bore 16.
- the shower water reaches the water chamber 12 via the ball head 11 in accordance with the arrows 100.
- the water flowing through the radial openings 131 into the hollow cylinder 13 either reaches the grooves 33 or the hollow piston 14, such as it is shown in the right half of Figure 1, and from here via the nozzle formation in the screw 21 as a single, bundled emerging massage jet to the outside.
- the water flowing through the radial openings 131 into the hollow cylinder 13 passes through the axial slots 1410 into an annular space above the base part 2 and from here into the individual grooves 33 distributed over the outer jacket of the ring element 3 and is emitted here as a wreath of individual shower jets. If the hollow piston 14 is now lowered from its position shown in the left half of the figure by a screwing movement with the rotating ring 15, the base part 2 with the ring element 3 is also pushed out of the bore 16 of the rotating ring 15 to the same extent.
- the outlet cross section of the grooves 33 is enlarged, since the base area 310 is inclined towards the central axis 10, so that the exit velocity of the individual shower jets is correspondingly reduced and the spray pattern of the shower is generally softer. If, on the other hand, the hollow piston 14 is guided past the radial openings 131, the water supply to the grooves 33 is shut off and the inflowing water is discharged solely via the central nozzle 210.
- the remaining shower water generally remains in the grooves 33, which have a relatively small cross section, and the annular space above them when the shower is turned off.
- the water located in the end region of the nozzle channel formed by the groove 33 evaporates in the ambient air, so that lime can separate out, the evaporated water from the upstream nozzle channel and the annular space being filled up at the same time.
- the user can now, in the event that disruptive scale deposits have built up at the outlet end, by wiping or flexing the collar 30 blow off these incrustations by hand so that the grooves 33 can emit 33 trouble-free shower jets during the next showering process.
- the ring element 3 is equipped with four differently inclined grooves 31, 32, 33, 34, which are repeated periodically on the outer jacket of the ring element 3, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 3 of the drawing .
- the groove 31 has a depth 3102 of 0.45 mm and is arranged with its base 310 parallel to the central axis 10.
- the groove 32 is formed with the base 310 inclined by 5 ° to the central axis 10, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 4 of the drawing.
- the base surface 310 of the groove 33 is arranged inclined at an angle of 10 ° to the central axis 10, as can be seen in FIG. 5 of the drawing.
- the groove 34 is finally arranged with the base area 310 inclined by 15 ° relative to the central axis 10, as can be seen from FIG. 6. Due to the different inclination of the base area 310 of the grooves 31, 32, 33, 34, a fanned shower image can be generated.
- the conical tapering of the inner wall 303 of the collar 30 is designed in a correspondingly stepped manner, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 7 of the drawing.
- An inclination of the inner wall 303 for the groove 31 of 15 °, for the groove 32 of 20 °, for the groove 33 of 25 ° and for the groove 34 of 30 ° has proven to be advantageous.
- the grooves 31, 32, 33, 34 have the same width 3101 of 0.9 mm.
- the smallest depth 3102 for the grooves 31, 32, 33, 34 is 0.45 mm.
- the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 to 13 differs from the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 to 7 only in that the projecting collar 30 is formed by individual projections 302 formed around the grooves 31, 32, 33, 34, as is particularly the case can be seen from Figures 8 and 13. With the individual protrusions 302, stripping and milling can be achieved particularly cheaply in order to remove scale deposits.
- the base part 2 is made of plastic by injection molding.
- the plastic polypropylene can advantageously be used here.
- the ring element 3 has been injection molded from a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) on the base part 2 as a composite material.
- TPE thermoplastic elastomer
- the thermoplastic elastomer "Santoprene” has proven to be cheap.
- the ring element 3 can also be made of another suitable rubber-elastic material and vulcanized or glued to the outer surface of the base part 2 made of a suitable material.
- the bottom part 2 can also be provided with an encircling annular groove into which an inner annular collar encircling the ring element 3 snaps in the plug-in position, so that the ring element 3 is held positively in the axial direction by the bottom part 2.
- the base part 2 with the ring element 3 is arranged to be movable axially with respect to the housing 1 of the shower head.
- the bottom part 2 with the ring element 3 can also be arranged in a fixed position in the shower head.
- Ring elements arranged concentrically with different diameters can be provided, so that several rows of shower jets can also be generated.
- the bore 16 can be rubber-elastic or lined with its wall in the region of the contact of the ring element 3.
- the base part with the ring element can also be produced in one piece from a rubber-elastic material.
- the support area of the base part can be made correspondingly thick-walled and / or a support body, for. B. metal plate, so that a required dimensional stability is ensured.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a shower head for a hand and / or stationary shower head with a housing which can be connected to the water supply and forms at least one water chamber and a base part, the base part having at least on one outer jacket region a ring element made of rubber-elastic material which has a plurality of on the outer circumference Has grooves for the generation of shower jets, wherein the ring element rests with at least a part of its outer jacket on a receiving bore.
Such a shower head is known, for example, from US Pat. No. 3,826,429. In the case of shower heads, limescale deposits can form in the area of the shower jet-forming grooves or openings, which impair the shower jet formation. These limescale deposits or lime incrustations in the grooves or openings are mainly caused by the fact that the water drop adhering to the outlet area of an opening dries out when the shower is not in use. The lime crystals are deposited at the exit end of the opening or groove and harden, depending on the drying time, to a greater or lesser extent. Frequent repetition of this drying process, as occurs after every shower at the shower head, can lead to malfunctions in the spray jet formation or even to a complete occlusion of the grooves or openings for the generation of the individual spray jets. Although in the shower head according to US Pat. No. 3,826,429 the ring element on the base part made of rigid material is already made of a rubber-elastic material, it can be problematic in this case to remove the undesirable and disruptive scale deposits.
The invention is therefore based on the object of improving the shower head specified in the preamble of
This object is achieved in that the ring element projects with a collar downstream over the base part acting as a support plate, so that limescale deposits in the grooves can be removed by wiping or flexing the collar.
Further refinements of the invention are specified in
With the proposed measures, removal of the lime incrustations which occur essentially at the outlet end of the grooves acting as jet formers is made possible with simple means, since it is only possible to dry out the shower water to a considerable extent in the area of the ambient air. The ring element according to the invention can be arranged both on a fixed base part arranged in the housing of the shower head and on a base part which can be moved axially relative to the housing of the shower head, for example in order to change the spray pattern of the shower head and / or to change the cross section of the individual shower jets, so that, for example, shower jets of different hardness can be generated.
The bore part of the shower head which interacts with the ring element can also be lined with a rubber-elastic material.
The base part can also be made entirely of a rubber-elastic material, in which case the supporting area of the base part - in order to have the required rigidity - is correspondingly thick-walled and / or support bodies made of rigid material, such as metal, are provided (vulcanized) in the base part .

For the sake of simplicity, the same or corresponding elements are provided with the same reference numerals in the exemplary embodiments in the drawing.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, a shower head of a stationary shower is shown. The shower head is essentially formed by a
The
During the showering process, the shower water reaches the
At the position of the
The remaining shower water generally remains in the
Die kleinste Tiefe 3102 bei den Nuten 31,32,33,34 beträgt 0,45 mm.In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 to 7, the
The exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 to 13 differs from the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 to 7 only in that the projecting
In the three exemplary embodiments, the
Of course, however, the
In the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing, the
Finally, the base part with the ring element can also be produced in one piece from a rubber-elastic material. Here, the support area of the base part can be made correspondingly thick-walled and / or a support body, for. B. metal plate, so that a required dimensional stability is ensured.
