Claims (20)

  1. Frame-like stand (2) as the base for tables (1), desks, furniture or the like, comprising metallic hollow profiles (3, 4, 5) which are screw-connected to one another, more especially light-metal extruded profiles, longitudinal and transverse spars (4, 3) of the stand (2) forming an H-shaped frame, to the free spar ends (24) of which the legs (5) of the stand (2) are secured, characterised in that the longitudinal and transverse spars (4, 3) have a rectangular cross-section, on the narrow sides of which protrude inwardly two webs (12) which form therebetween a continuous screw channel (13), and in that the legs (5) of the stand (2) comprise a tubular profile, on the external face of which is provided a first groove (6), which extends along a generatrix, and in which the narrow side of the free spar end (24) is guided.
  2. Stand according to claim 1, characterised in that the shorter transverse spars (3) are screwed onto the end faces of two longitudinal spars (4), which lie parallel to each other, to form a T-shaped butt joint, and in that the transverse spars (3) have the free spar ends (24).
  3. Stand according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the external faces (15) of the webs (12) extend parallel to the wider external faces (17) of the spar profiles (3, 4) and serve as the supporting face for screw heads (53) which traverse the external face (17) and are disposed transversely relative to the profile longitudinal axis.
  4. Stand according to claim 3, characterised in that the spacing (16) of the external web face (15) from the external profile face (17) corresponds to the height of a screw head (53), which fills in a flush manner a corresponding through-bore (19) in the profile wall.
  5. Stand according to claim 1 or one of the following claims, characterised in that the tubular profile (5) has a second externally situated groove (7) extending along a generatrix, which groove is situated opposite the first groove (6) for accommodating the free spar end (24) and is closeable by a U-shaped cover profile (8) so as to leave a continuous channel (25).
  6. Stand according to claim 5, characterised in that, in the base of the second groove (7), two through-bores (21) for the heads (53) of screws (10) are provided, which are supported on the internal face of the base (26) of the first groove (6), and the threaded shafts of which engage in a self-tapping manner in the screw channels (13) of the free spar ends (24).
  7. Stand according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the webs (27) of the cover profile (8) engage in a snap-closing manner in undercut portions of the lateral walls (28) of the second groove (7).
  8. Stand according to one of claims 5 to 7, characterised in that the channel (25), surrounded by the cover profile (8), is intended to accommodate cables.
  9. Stand according to claim 1 or one of the following claims, characterised in that webs (22), which extend radially in the tubular profile of the leg (5), form with their ends, in co-operation with the base (20) of the second groove (7), a guide means for a hub (33) which can be pushed into the leg (5).
  10. Stand according to claim 9, characterised in that the base (20) of the second groove (7) has a curved configuration, corresponding to the curvature (23) of the hub (33).
  11. Stand according to claim 1 or one of the following claims, characterised in that a cap (30) is inserted into the individual leg end (5), which cap is formed, more especially, from plastics material and has an axial continuous bore (31) for accommodating a pin (32), the hub (33) of the cap (30) being guided on the webs (22) and the base (20) of the second groove (7) of the leg profile (5) and protruding, with lock-like extensions (34), into the space between the webs (22) and the base (20) of the second groove (7).
  12. Stand according to claim 11, characterised in that the pin (32) is a component part of a fitting (35, 36), which is intended as the foot part (35) or flange (36) for securement on a plate (38).
  13. Stand according to claim 12, characterised in that a flanged plate (37) is connected to the pin (34) by way of pivot joint (39).
  14. Stand according to claim 12 or 13, characterised in that a row of radial bores (40) are disposed in the pin (32), and a radial locking element (41), which engages in one of the bores (40), is disposed in a lock-like extension (34) of the plastics material cap (30).
  15. Stand according to claim 14, characterised in that the locking element (41) is in the form of a setscrew with a locking ball (42) resiliently guided therein, which ball engages in the bore (40).
  16. Stand according to claim 11 or one of the following claims, characterised in that there is provided, in the external face (44) on the end-face of the cap (30), a radially extending concave groove (45), in which a U-shaped pin hook (46) is guided, which hook traverses one of the bores (40) and engages in a securing manner in another bore (40) with its curved hook part (47).
  17. Stand according to claim 16, characterised in that the hook part (47) has a resilient property and is slightly V-shaped.
  18. Stand according to claim 11 or one of the following claims, characterised in that the cap (30) has a continuous threaded bore (49), in which a spindle pin (50) of a fitting (35), in the form of a foot part, is guided in a vertically adjustable manner.
  19. Stand according to claim 1 or one of the following claims, characterised in that there is disposed, on a longitudinal or transverse spar (4, 3) of the frame-like stand (2), in a longitudinally displaceable and securable manner, a slidable guide (58) which is connected, via a securing plate (57) or the like, to a leg (63) provided externally of the table (1), said leg being supported on the floor and carrying, for example, a PC.
  20. Stand according to claim 19, characterised in that the securing plate (57) is connected via a bracket (64) to the leg (63), the upright portion of the bracket (64) engaging in an externally situated elongate groove (6) of the leg (63) in a non-rotatable manner.
