Description

The present invention relates to work stations and specifically, but not exclusively, targets a position operator for trading room, or a workstation similar. A workstation includes a desk, consisting essentially by a tray, having a front edge, in front which operator is placed, a rear edge and two sides, the tray resting on legs or boxes. The trading rooms are premises located in banks, brokerage firms and other trading organizations of diverse products. The workstations of those who process these markets must allow intense activity with the minimal disruption to be quick and efficient.

An operator station, to provide access to multiple information simultaneously is generally equipped, in addition to several telephone lines several computers simultaneously, for example three or four, as for example the position which is represented on the Figure 1 of the attached drawings. A computer has between another a screen and a central unit. To be usable, the screen must be placed on the workstation, so facing towards the front edge. In general, the central unit is placed on the table, below the screen, which is placed above.

On an operator station, already very crowded with phones and screens, there is not enough room to house the central units or other equipment, electronic among others. Until now, these units are set apart, next to or under the table in a small cabinet on roulette. We accommodate this provision which is not not always practical, because the operator must be able to access on the front of the central unit, as well as on the front rear, to undo, redo or modify the connections.

Document US-4,491,375 discloses a work station IT with shelves hinged on one edge side of the workstation to facilitate access to elements arranged on the shelves.

Document US-5 403 082 discloses a work station computer with a sliding mounted trunk front to back and containing the central unit of the computer.

Document DE-35 06 381 discloses a unit box central unit whose position can be adjusted in height and which can be fitted on the side of a work table.

The present invention relates to an operator station having a particularly advantageous arrangement of central units.

According to the invention, an operator station is provided, especially for trading room, comprising a tray of work, support elements in the form of boxes or feet, a chest, one or more screen (s) computer (s) and one or more central processing unit (s) corresponding (s), said work platform being supported by said support elements and having a front edge before which the operator normally sits, said or said screen (s) being arranged on said tray, said or said central unit (s) being arranged to immediate proximity in said trunk, in particular in below the work tray, said trunk having a front side and one rear side with openings in front which are placed respectively the front face and the rear face of said or each of said unit (s) central (s), so that the operator can access the front and rear faces of said unit (s) central (s), characterized in that said trunk is attached to one of said support elements by a connection which allows a rotation of the trunk relative to this support element, so that each of said front and rear faces of the trunk may be presented towards the front edge of said work platform by rotation of the trunk relative to said audit support element.

Advantageously, the trunk is articulated around an axis vertical, preferably on one side of the front of the trunk and on one side of a front edge of the post table operator. Advantageously, the trunk has several boot parts hinged independently of each other others around the vertical axis. Wiring passes near the axis and has a sufficient length to accompany the movement of the trunk. The front panels of the central units or other equipment is directly accessible by the operator, and by a simple gesture he operates the rotation of the safe and has all connections directly on hand central units, which he can handle individually without wasting time searching for cables to move.

FIG. 1 represents an operator station according to the invention. Such a station can be used in a bathroom markets, as well as in trading organizations having to deal with similar issues.

This station comprises a plate 1, of which optionally a front part can be foldable or retractable. The tray is supported by boxes 2 and 3 which can contain storage drawers, wiring, etc. On the tray is arranged a telephone system 4, adapted to the relationships necessary for the operations to be performed by the user. The operator station according to the invention is equipped with computers therefore the screens E ₁ , E ₂ , E ₃ , E ₄ , here four in number, are arranged near the rear edge of the tray. The central units U ₁ , U ₂ , etc. corresponding are placed in a trunk 5 organized in a particular way according to the invention.

The chest, rectangular parallelepiped is hinged around a vertical edge 6, the front face 5A of the boot, the along a vertical edge 7 of the front face 2A of the box 2. The trunk is advantageously mounted on casters. The chest can be made individually or include several parts of chests, such as drawers, articulated independently of each other around the pivot axis 6, 7.

In the position shown in Figure 1, the trunk presents towards the front of the station, the front face 5A, provided with opening O ₁ , O ₂ , etc. in front of each of which is placed the front face of a central unit U ₁ , U ₂ , etc. The user of the operator station can therefore have access, from his work place, directly to the front panels of the central units. An operating bar 8 8 is fixed on the front face of the boot.

Thanks to the articulation 6, 7, the trunk can be pivoted forward and brought into an intervention position in which the rear side of the trunk is directly accessible at the front of the operator station.

In Figure 2, the trunk is shown after swiveling from approximately 90 to 120 °. The importance of pivoting depends on the dimensions of the elements of the position, in particular the thickness of the box 2. It is only necessary that the rear face 5B of this box is easily accessible, as in the example of representation in FIG. 2. The rear side of the boot 5 has sufficient openings for extracting or inserting central units.

Figure 3 shows in more detail the rear face 5B of the trunk in the intervention position. The internal lateral face 2L of the box 2 is provided with sockets 9 connected to other sockets, not shown, arranged on the tray 1, in the vicinity of the rear face of said tray, to which other sockets are connected the screens. The rear faces of the central units have their usual sockets. C ₁ , C ₂ cables, etc. are connected on the one hand to the sockets 9, on the other hand to the sockets of the central units. These cables have a sufficient length to allow movement without any gene of the trunk 5. Fixing means 11, 12 are provided on the faces of the trunk to keep the cables in clear order. We see that it is thus possible and simple, for example to extract a central unit and replace it after intervention, or to replace it with another: we rock the trunk, or disconnect a unit, without touching the others or their connections. We replace a unit and re-tilt the trunk. The disturbance is reduced to a minimum, both in the duration of the intervention and in the disturbance to the environment.

Claims (5)

1. An operator workstation, in particular for a trading room, comprising a worktop (1), support elements (2, 3) in the form of boxes or legs, a chest (5), one or more computer screens (E1, E2, E3, E4), and a plurality of corresponding central processor units (U1, U2), said worktop (1) being supported by said support element (2, 3) and presenting a front edge in front of which an operator is normally installed, said screen(s) being placed on said worktop, said central unit(s) being disposed in the immediate vicinity thereof in said chest (5), in particular beneath the worktop, said chest (5) having a front face (5A) and a rear face (5B) provided with openings (01, 02) in register with which there are placed respectively the front face and the rear face of said or each of said central unit(s), such that the operator can access the front and rear faces of said central unit(s), the workstation being characterized in that said chest is connected to one of said support elements (2, 3) via a connection enabling the chest (5) to be rotated relative to said support element so that each of said front and rear faces (5A, 5B) of the chest can be presented close to the front edge of said workstation (1) by turning the chest relative to said support element.
2. A workstation according to claim 1, in which said chest (5) is hinged about a vertical axis.
3. A workstation according to claim 2, in which the chest comprises a plurality of chest portions that are hinged independently of one another about said vertical axis.
4. A workstation according to claim 2 or claim 3, in which the chest is placed on the ground, the hinge axis is situated on one side of the front face of the chest, and on one side of the workstation.
5. A workstation according to any preceding claim, in which the cabling of the rear faces passes close to the hinge axis, and is provided with a length that is sufficient to enable it to accompany the movement of the chest.
