Durch die Kombination von Stumpf- und Gehrungsstoß ist es möglich, die äußere Sichtseite wunschgemäß zu gestaften und beispielsweise dem Erscheinungsbild eines Holzrahmens anzupassen. Außerdem lassen sich ohne Schwierigkeiten auch Profile unterschiedlich breiter Außenteile stoßen. Die gehrungsgestoßenen Innenteile wiederum führen zu einem eirnwandfreien Übergang der Innenteile im Eckbereich vom einen zum anderen Profil mit Erhalt der zwischen den Innenteilen bestehenden Nuten oder Kammern, so daß trotz der außen stumpfgestoßenen Profile innenseitig ein umlaufendes Verlegen von Dichtungen u. dgl. gewährleistet ist. Beim Vorbereiten der Profilstirnseiten ist nur darauf zu achten, daß sich tatsächlich die Innenteile bis zur gemeinsamen Gehrungsebene erstrecken und der Außenteil des einen Profils, der den Eckbereich überdeckt, mit seiner Stimkante bis zur Verlängerung der äußeren Längskante des Außenteils des anderen Profils vorragt, womit zwangsweise der Außenteil des anderen Profils mit seiner Stimkante nur bis zur Verlängerung der Innenlängskante des den Eckbereich überdeckenden Außenteils reichen kann.
