Abstract

The system is for winding up a strip of paper on a roll (9). When a roll is full, another roll spindle is spun up to speed on an arrangement (7) with a belt (7.3) stretched over two rollers (7.1,7.2). The roll core is then dropped or positively moved down onto the paper web just before it joins the nearly full roll. The paper web is then cut before it joins the full roll, but after the empty roll core. An air blast nozzle blows the paper strip towards the empty roll core, which then catches the loose end of the paper strip and proceeds to roll it up. The support for the full roll is then dropped away and the roll is then removed and the new roll then moves onto the support.
