Abstract

The wallet, designed for the delivery of photographic prints and negatives, consists of two compartments, one for the negatives (N) and the other for the prints, each being open along its inner edge and closed along its other three edges. The negative compartment is made with an additional flap, and this has a round tongue (G) cut out of it which is placed over the edge of the negatives once they have been inserted into the compartment so that they cannot drop out accidentally. To remove the negatives the tip of the tongue is pushed away from their edges, and they can then be taken out in the normal way.

Description

The present invention relates to an improved pouch intended for the delivery of photographic work, essentially to amateurs who have used a photographic film for a series of shots, and who entrust this film to a professional laboratory in order to develop it and make a number of color or black and white prints.

These operations are repeated each year tens of millions of times around the world and, taking into account this enormous number of works, we sought to simplify, standardize and lower the cost of the sleeves in which the laboratories deliver their work to their clients.

The problem to be solved being the need to separately deliver the negative film strip (s) with or without glued additive and the prints on paper, the simplest solution was to design such a pocket with two flaps, generally folded one on the other, each component constituting a compartment for the negatives and for the prints, respectively, each compartment being closed on three sides and open on the fourth side, this fourth side being the one closest to and parallel to the fold line.

However, if such a pocket offers complete safety when it is closed, since the two open sides are oriented in the same direction, and in the direction of the fold line, it is quite different when the pocket is open, because the sides open of the two compartments are oriented in opposite directions, so that one compartments being oriented so as to immobilize its content in its closed bottom, necessarily the content of the other compartment will tend to escape, since its orientation will be reverse. If this has relatively little importance for prints on paper, which generally occupy most of their compartment, and have little tendency to slip while escaping, quite the contrary, negatives, because of their small size. size and their very slippery material, have a strong tendency to escape from their compartment.

It is this drawback that the new type of pouch according to the invention aims to eliminate in which, in a pouch for the delivery of photographic works of the aforementioned type, comprising a first compartment intended for negatives and a second compartment intended for paper prints, the invention resides in that means are associated with said first compartment for opposing the exit of said negatives.

More specifically, in such a pocket in which said first compartment has the form of an elongated space, closed along its base and on its two lateral sides and open upwards, said means consist of a retention tab situated along on the open side of this space, open down and closed up.

Thus, in the case where said elongated space is created by a V-shaped fold of the paper blank constituting said pocket, said retention tab is formed according to the invention by an inward fold of the upper edge of the outer branch of said V, the permanent opening, downward, of said fold, resulting from the "paper memory".

According to another possible embodiment, in the case where said space is created by gluing, on the external face of said second compartment, a strip of paper or of transparent material, along its lower longitudinal edge and its lateral edges, said retention tab is formed according to the invention by a strip of paper or similar material glued along the upper edge of said outer face, the width of the glued portion of the strip leaving free an unglued portion flaring down said space.

To ensure the effectiveness of the arrangement according to the invention, it is preferable that, in all cases, the height of said tab is such that it opens above the upper edge of said negatives when these are in place in said first compartment.

  • La figure 1 est une vue à l'état déployé à plat d'un flan de papier découpé en vue de constituer une pochette conforme à l'invention ;
  • La figure 2 est une vue en plan de la pochette, représentée à l'état ouvert ;
By way of illustrative example without any limiting character, a preferred embodiment of the invention will be described below, referring to the appended drawing, in which:
  • Figure 1 is a view in the deployed state flat of a blank of paper cut to form a pocket according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 is a plan view of the pouch, shown in the open state;
  • Figure 3 is a section along III - III of Figure 2; and
  • Figure 3 'is an enlarged partial view of Figure 3, showing the positioning of the negatives in their compartment, and their retention in place by the retention tab according to the invention.

In this drawing, by convention, the reference numbers (1, 2, ...) will designate flat surfaces (panels, strips, tabs), while the reference letters (A, B, C, ...) will designate free edges or folds.

As seen in Figure 1, the blank constituting the cover of Figure 2 consists of successive panels 1, 2, 3, ..., 6 going from one extreme transverse edge A to the other extreme parallel edge G , alternately folding back in one direction and in the other, and being joined by gluing of lateral tabs 7, 7 'and 8, 8' folded inwards according to folds H, H 'and I, I', defining two compartments respectively BCD and DEF.

The panel 1, delimited by the edge A and the fold B, constitutes, in the embodiment shown, a shutter for closing the pocket.

The panel 2, delimited by the folds B and C, constitutes, by gluing the lateral tabs 7, 7 ′ of the panel 2 on the panel 3, delimited by the folds C and D, a BCD compartment, intended to receive the paper prints.

The panel delimited by the folds D and E likewise constitutes by bonding the lateral tabs 8, 8 ′ of the panel 4 on the panel 5, delimited by the folds E and F, a DEF compartment intended to receive the negatives.

Finally, to the panel 5 is articulated along a fold F an auxiliary band 6, delimited by the fold F and the edge G, and folded towards the inside of the compartment DEF so as to create a tab for retaining the negatives N contained in this compartment.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the outer edge G of the retention tab 6 has a width such that this tab 6 opens above said negatives N when these are in place in the compartment DEF. Onne there is therefore no risk of blocking the retention tab, which remains constantly open in the direction of the E fold.

We see even better in Figure 3 ', where we deliberately exaggerated the thickness of the blank constituting the pocket, how the negatives N, grouped in their DEF compartment in the usual way, are held in place by the tab of retention 6 (FG), which, folded inwards, remains constantly ajar thanks to the elasticity of the paper.

Par contre, comme représenté, s'ils tendent à s'échapper vers l'extérieur, ils sont happés par le repli formé par l'onglet 6 et demeurent dans le dièdre EFG.Normally, the negatives N remain in the bottom E of the compartment, being narrower than the width EF minus the width FG of the tab. By cons, as shown, if they tend to escape outwards, they are caught in the fold formed by the tab 6 and remain in the EFG dihedral.

In addition, to push the negatives against the panel 5, that is to say above the opening of the retention tab 6, one can provide a punctured 9, cut in the panel 4 and protruding elastically towards inside the DEF compartment. Likewise, the bonding tabs 8, 8 ′ of the panel 5 extend over their entire common width, with the exception of the height of the tab 6, where they include a notch, which avoids the excess thickness which would have resulted of their overlap.

The embodiment of Figures 1 - 3 is a preferred example because of its ease of realization on an automatic machine at high speed cutting - folding - gluing.

Other embodiments fall within the scope of the invention. For example, by reversing the arrangement of the bonding of panel 1 to panel 2, the compartment for receiving prints on paper could be formed for the assembly of panels 1 and 2, which would then be articulated on the compartment for receiving negatives. , consisting of the assembly of panels 4 and 5, joined to the previous by fold B. The retention tab 6 would however remain unchanged, within the framework of the invention.

Similarly, instead of a system consisting of a single plane folded as shown, the pouch according to the invention could result from the bonding of individual strips, possibly made of paper made of transparent material different from the rest of the pouch.

Thus, according to yet another variant, falling within the scope of the invention, the first compartment, intended for negatives, may consist of a sheet of paper or of transparent material, glued by three sides to the inner surface of the closure flap of the pocket, the fourth side, which remains open, being open in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the folds forming the pocket, and itself comprising a fold directed towards said interior surface constituting the negative retention tab.

These various variants are of course included as well as all equivalent variants within the scope of the invention.
