Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a part horological, in particular a wristwatch, comprising a horometric movement having an axis and a frame, a box formed of a middle part and a bottom constituting a housing to receive said movement, means of axial positioning of the movement relative to the box by means of bearing surfaces which extend in a plane perpendicular to said axis in a peripheral region said frame and said housing, and means for lateral positioning of the movement relative to the box.
  • This invention also relates to a box intended to equip such a timepiece.
  • the lateral positioning of a horometric movement in a box which is also called positioning radial, is in classical constructions provided by an outer edge of the movement which is engaged in a peripheral scope formed inside the box. This edge is often formed by a radial collar which serves also to the axial positioning of the movement.
  • the publication EP-A-396 007 describes a watch from the genre defined in the preamble above. Immediately under the watch face, the movement has a collar radial called a thread, which is tightened axially between the dial and an annular shoulder of the box, extending in a plane parallel to the dial, to ensure the axial positioning. Lateral positioning is assured by means of two centering devices in the form of nails or screws that are planted in the box in the axial direction. Each of these organs has a cylindrical head that emerges of said shoulder and slidably engages in a opening of the same diameter of the neck of the movement.
  • Patent CH 43503 provides for fixing a movement of shows in its box by screwing the movement onto a stud central threaded which is integral with the bottom of the box, the lower part of the frame being provided with a central nut fixed. Axial and lateral positioning is ensured by cooperation of two complementary conical surfaces formed respectively on an upper collar of the movement and on the edge of the upper opening of the box. The application of this system would require a expensive machining of conical surfaces on the periphery and would furthermore be incompatible with current methods production by automated molding and assembly.
  • EP-A-64 950 describes a watch case having two elastomer pads on the bottom of the box, but these studs only lean axially against the movement, from which they are separated by lateral play.
  • the object of the present invention is to respond to aforementioned disadvantages in providing a room timepieces having a construction such as movement can be mounted in the box in an easy way, fast and ensuring high accuracy in the long term lateral, without risk of subjecting the movement of stresses due to expansion.
  • This invention has also to provide an inexpensive solution, especially in certain applications, such as the case injection molded boxes, and avoid machining precise centering surfaces with a large diameter
  • the present invention also aims to provide a box responding to the above problem and able to equip such a timepiece.
  • the invention relates to a part timepieces of the type indicated in the preamble, characterized by what the so-called lateral positioning means are made up of at least a couple of elements small complementary compared to transverse dimensions of the frame, said elements complementary being provided respectively on the bottom of the box and on a lower part of the frame, and in this that one of said complementary elements is an orifice centering and the other is a protruding stud engaged by axial sliding in said orifice.
  • the invention has the effect of dissociating the axial positioning means and those of lateral positioning, to allow these last in a location and in a form that allow machining that is both very precise and inexpensive.
  • the movement is positioned axially by pressing in a plane perpendicular to the axis, where it can have if necessary a lateral play to absorb radial expansions differentials between the case and the movement, as well as manufacturing and assembly tolerances throughout direction of said plane, that is to say in the directions of large dimensions of the box and movement.
  • the flat axial support surfaces, disposed at the periphery, have a large diameter ensuring good stability of the movement and their precise realization is not expensive, in particular by molding.
  • the lateral positioning members can advantageously have an axial clearance, so they keep the movement in the box only laterally, to prevent it from sliding on the plane of axial support. They can be placed in the center of the timepiece or near this center, so that the centering is not affected by dilations differential or dimensional deviations due to shrinkage molded parts. Thanks to their small diameter, we can machine them with precision at a lower cost than peripheral surfaces.
  • the stud projects from the bottom in direction of the housing receiving the movement, while the centering hole in which this stud engages is formed in said lower part of the frame.
  • a box intended to equip a such a timepiece has a middle and a back constituting a housing for receiving a movement, the box being characterized in that it comprises at least a cylindrical centering stud secured to said bottom and projecting from said bottom towards the housing, said pad being intended to position the movement laterally compared to the box.
  • the stud is made in one piece with the bottom and also in the same matter and is in the center of the bottom.
  • Timepiece 1 includes a case in particular monobloc type 2 formed by a middle part 4 and a bottom 6. On the box 2 are provided in a conventional manner horns 8 provided to allow the attachment of the strands of a bracelet, not shown here.
  • a housing 10 which is defined inside this box by the middle part 4 and by the bottom 6, and more particularly by their respective interior walls referenced 4a and 6a.
  • the timepiece 1 further comprises a horometric movement 12 which is housed inside the housing 10.
  • This movement 12 having a central axis 13, has a frame 14 which is formed of an upper part 14a containing a bridge and a lower part 14b containing a platinum.
  • the frame 14 supports so classic mechanical, electrical and / or electromechanical, driving display means 16 of digital or analog type, constituted in this example by two switches 16a and 16b.
  • the switch 16a is a center switch with hour hands, minutes and seconds; the switch 16b is off-center and has a hand, for example a chronograph.
  • the part 1 further comprises a glass 18 and a bezel 20 notched in the middle 4.
  • the glass 18 presses axially against a flange 22 which maintains the movement 12 by pressing in the same direction on the dial 24 which rests on the upper part 14a of the frame.
  • This part upper 14a has a peripheral shoulder forming an annular planar surface 25 which in turn rests against the flat surface 26 of a shoulder formed in the inner wall 4a of the middle part 4.
  • the part widened upper part 14a of the frame plays the role of a collar or classic net but only to ensure the axial positioning.
  • movement 12 can preferably benefit from lateral play in plane 27 of these surfaces, which is perpendicular to the central axis 13. This will absorb any differential expansion and increase manufacturing tolerances in direction radial in the peripheral region of the box and movement.
  • the movement 12 also includes a battery 28 which is kept in an appropriate housing (not referenced) by a seal 30 secured to a cover 32.
  • the seal 30 and the cover 32 close a battery door 34 formed in the bottom 6.
  • the cover 32 is engaged in the bottom 6 by a bayonet system 35.
  • the part 1 comprises positioning means lateral P ensuring lateral (or radial) positioning of movement 12 in and with respect to box 2. These positioning means P are provided between the bottom 6 and the lower part 14b of the frame 14.
  • these positioning means P are made up, on the one hand, by a cylindrical stud 36 which projects from the bottom 6 towards the housing 10, and on the other hand, by a centering orifice 38 in which the stud is engaged 36.
  • the centering hole 38 is formed in the part lower 14b of the frame 14, for example along the axis central 13 of the movement, and it is formed directly during injection of the frame 14 which is made of a material plastic. This hole 38 is thus obtained by a core appropriately positioned in the injection mold (not shown). This configuration therefore allows guarantee that very narrow tolerance ranges are obtained and perfect reproducibility of shapes and dimensions, in comparison with the systems of conventional positioning that was planned usually on the periphery of the top 14a.
  • the pad 36 is made in one piece with the bottom 6 and in the same material which is metal here.
  • the box 2 is preferably produced by a process metal injection, called MIM (Metal Injection Molding).
  • these positioning means being provided for level of the bottom of the box 2 offer a solution particularly advantageous because this injection process leaves, after its implementation, a carrot which is the cylinder of material which remains in the mold duct, just after removing the injection nozzle.
  • a carrot which is the cylinder of material which remains in the mold duct, just after removing the injection nozzle.
  • the diameter of the pad 36 and that of the orifice 38 are approximately 1.5 mm, while the the largest diameter of the movement is commonly around 18 to 30 mm.
  • the largest transverse dimension (diameter) of the stud 36 is smaller than a tenth of the greatest transverse dimension (diameter) of the housing 10.
  • the pad 36 and the centering orifice 38 therefore have a small diameter compared to those of movement 12 and housing 10. Precise machining of the stud is therefore easier than that of the centering surface according to the prior art, on the outskirts of the housing 10. It will be noted that this stud 36 and this orifice 38 are in this example centered by in relation to room 1, especially in relation to the accommodation 10. This position has several advantages. She facilitates precise positioning of the tool for the machining of the stud. It also facilitates positioning angular movement during nesting, in allowing small swivels around the center without the movement approaches the peripheral wall interior 4a. In the case of chronographs, including the pushers are generally oriented towards the center, the stud 36 and the orifice 38 are precisely on the action line of each pusher, so that this action does not tend to rotate the movement.
  • the movement can also be positioned angularly roughly when fitting the frame 14, by a projecting element of frame 14, in the occurrence a pin 40 engaged with a certain play lateral in a recess 42 formed in the wall inner peripheral 4a of the middle part 4.
  • the finer angular positioning can then be done by a time setting rod 44 slidingly mounted in the middle part 4 and comprising a control crown 46.
  • the part shown in Figure 1 further includes a sliding pusher 48 likewise in the middle part 4 and which can actuate a mechanical element and / or electric movement 12, for example a chronograph device.
  • a sliding pusher 48 likewise in the middle part 4 and which can actuate a mechanical element and / or electric movement 12, for example a chronograph device.
  • the invention is not limited to the embodiment represented. It could have two studs, no centered, engaged in two centering holes corresponding, one of the holes being oblong in shape to absorb the phenomena of expansion. In that case, the time setting rod 44 no longer has a function of angular positioning of the frame 14.
  • the pad 36 could be made on the frame 14 to extend in direction of the bottom 6 and engage in a hole made in this background.
  • This solution is however less optimal, in particular because of the risk of damage to the stud at time of assembly.
  • a protruding stud under the movement would hinder the handling of it during manufacturing, testing and storage.
