Abstract

Eine Gefriertruhe weist mindestens einen von oben zugänglichen durch eine Umwälzkühlung gekühlten Kühlraum (39) auf, in dessen Wand (15,16) ein Kaltluft-Einlaß (18) und ein Kaltluft-Auslaß (19) vorgesehen sind. Über dem Kühlraum (39) ist eine Abdeckhaube (11) mit mindestens einem als transparente Scheibe ausgebildeten Deckel (27,28) angeordnet, der in solcher Höhe gegenüber dem Kaltluft-Einlaß (18) und dem Kaltluft-Auslaß (19) angeordnet ist, daß sich unter ihm ein im wesentlichen ruhendes Luftvolumen (42) oberhalb der Kühlstromung (41) bildet. Die Abdeckhaube (11) verhindert das Eindringen von Umgebungsluft in den Kühlkreislauf, wodurch Kühlenergie eingespart wird. Es dringt auch weniger Luftfeuchtigkeit in den Kühlkreislauf ein, was ein langsameres Vereisen bewirkt und selteneres Abtauen des Verdampfers (23) erfordert.
