Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a sheet metal strip metallic intended to form bond between two elements of construction such as soles or plates, at least one of these elements being of wood, said strip of metal sheet comprising on at least one edge of the anchoring projections provided with teeth intended to be forced into at least one of said teeth construction elements which is made of wood, and comprising between at least some of said anchoring projections at least one member penetration stop in the wood.
  • Said anchoring projections in the wood provide between they niche.
  • the sheet metal strip is inserted into the wood in the factory using a continuously operating press, and this is a delicate operation since on the one hand, the sheet metal strip does not must not penetrate into the wood beyond the base of the slots formed between the anchoring projections to avoid creating a primer cracking and on the other hand, the anchoring projections must be completely inserted in the wood despite the natural heterogeneity wood fibers.
  • the object of the present invention is to remedy the disadvantages of the prior art and to propose a sheet metal strip according to the preamble of claim 1, the manufacture of which is easy and inexpensive.
  • the arresting body of penetration consists of a gouge-shaped tooth making protruding outwards.
  • Wood which when sinking the sheet metal strip enters the concavity of the gouge-shaped tooth, comes abut on the surface, substantially transverse to the direction of penetration into the wood of the bottom of the gouge, to limit the insertion of the sheet metal strip into the building element in wood.
  • the gouge-shaped tooth has a substantially cylindrical concave wall, connected to the rest of the sheet metal strip by an inflected wall coming from forging or stamping, said inflected wall defining a surface constituting the bottom of the tooth and substantially orthogonal in the sense penetration of the tooth into the wood, so as to stop this penetration.
  • the teeth are arranged in the shape of a gouge so that two consecutive teeth have concavities facing opposite directions with respect to the sheet metal strip, which avoids rectilinear primers of wood cracks.
  • the strip of metal sheet is folded in zigzag along fold lines parallel to each other, two strip portions adjacent to the same fold line forming a obtuse angle.
  • Said strip of metal sheet is preferably made made of steel with a protective coating against oxidation.
  • the anchoring projections advantageously include teeth which may have a profile such as that described in the patent FR-A-2 702 236.
  • the anchoring of these teeth is improved by the elasticity of the wood which closes on the teeth after their insertion and also by removing the sheet metal strip substantially stretched by the press during the insertion operation.
  • said sheet metal strip comprises preferably on the side and on a song means intended to secure the sheet metal strip in a concrete plate.
  • a sheet metal strip according to the invention can also be used to make a structural element.
  • said sheet metal strip has on its two edges of the anchoring projections provided with force-on teeth in wood and the sheet metal strip has between at least some anchoring projections at least one penetration stop member wood made of a gouge-shaped tooth projecting towards outside.
  • FIGS. 1A and 1B show a strip of sheet 1 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
  • This sheet metal strip 1 comprises on an edge anchoring projections 4 forming slots and provided with teeth 6 to be forced into wood.
  • the band singing region in between between two anchoring projections 4, i.e. the base 5 of the niche formed between these anchoring projections 4, is provided with two members wood penetration stop in accordance with the invention in the form of teeth 7 projecting towards the exterior and gouge-shaped.
  • the sheet metal strip 1 is zigzagly folded along lines of folding L and L parallel to each other. It thus presents ripples as shown in Figure 1B.
  • the sheet metal strip has in each interval separating two anchoring projections 4 consecutive, two gouge-shaped teeth 7, formed equal distance from the same fold line L.
  • the sheet metal strip 1 is also folded at the level of the anchoring projections 4 and more precisely along a fold line L 'contained in a plane median of symmetry for the anchoring projection concerned.
  • the use of a strip of sheet metal with corrugations has the advantage of increasing the adhesion surface of the sheet in the wood or the building element, and avoids the constitution of a rectilinear crack initiator during the sheet metal penetrating into the wood.
  • the use of a sheet presenting ripples also has the advantage of facilitating handling of it, which can be stored in rolls prior to its use.
  • the gouge-shaped teeth allow, in addition to stopping the penetration of the sheet metal strip into the wood, to improve the resistance sheet metal strip in the latter.
  • the adhesion of the gouge-shaped teeth is improved when the two main faces of the latter are coated a hot-melt adhesive, preferably with a low melting point of so that the simple insertion into the wood creates a sufficient local heating to melt the glue, which cooler polymerizes and increases the adhesion of the tooth in wood.
  • the teeth 6 are advantageously coated formed on the anchoring projections 4 with a hot-melt adhesive for increase their adhesion.
  • FIGS. 2A to 2C show a tooth in shape of gouge 7, according to the invention.
  • Each tooth 7 came from forming with the sheet metal strip by stamping or stamping and has a cylindrical wall 7a connecting to the rest of the sheet metal strip by an inflected wall formed by the union of two wall parts 7b and 7c each having the general shape of a portion of torus.
  • the wall part 7b is concave towards the inside of the tooth while the wall part 7c has its concavity located on the outside of the tooth.
  • the wall parts 7b and 7c define at their junction a substantially 7th surface perpendicular to the direction S of penetration of tooth 7 in the wood.
  • the wall parts 7b and 7c stiffen the sheet at right of the tooth connection on the rest of the sheet metal strip and prevent it from bending when it enters the wood.
  • the free end 7d of the tooth is tapered to facilitate insertion into the wood, and this end 7d is preferably tapered like a spoon like represented.
  • the cylindrical wall 7a of the tooth present in section transverse a semicircular shape as shown in the Figure 2C.
  • the teeth 7 are formed on the sheet metal strip so as to be staggered on either side of the sheet metal strip when observed parallel to the fold lines L and L ', as shown in Figure 1B.
  • FIG. 3 shows an assembly of two flanges 2a, 2b connected by a sheet metal strip 1 conforming to the invention, and constituting a structural element.
  • the sheet metal strip 1 is symmetrical with respect to a plane median perpendicular to the fold lines.
  • Figure 3 shows a small gap between the surface of each of the soles 2a and 2b and the base 5 of the slots, in reality the surface of the soles 2a and 2b comes to bear on the base 5 of the slots, until the wood stops against the 7th surface constituting the bottom of the teeth in the shape of a gouge.
  • FIG. 4 An assembly consisting a concrete floor 3 and a beam 2b connected by a strip sheet 1 according to the invention.
  • the sheet metal strip 1 has a fallen edge 9 on a song stiffening the sheet and flares 10 allowing passage and maintenance of metal reinforcements 11.
  • the sheet metal stampings 8 forming protrusions participate in the stiffening of corrugated sheet and anchor it in concrete. Singing opposite has anchoring projections 4 and teeth in the form of gouge 7 as described above.
  • penetration stop members in the wood according to the invention allow a good spacing to be obtained determined between the two building elements that the strip of sheet metal connects, therefore to precisely respect the dimensions of construction.
