Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Seitenkanalverdichter, mit einem aus zwei Gehäusehälften (5) und (15) bestehenden Verdichtergehäuse, in dem ein mit Förderschaufel versehenes Laufrad (10) drehbar angeordnet und mit seinem Nabenteil (11) mit einer durch eine an der einen Gehäusehälfte (5) vorgesehene Einführöffnung (7) in das Gehäuse (5,15) ragenden Antriebswelle (9) eines Antriebsmotors (1) verbunden ist. Eine Ausbildung des Verdichtergehäuses (5,15) aus Kunststoff wird dadurch ermöglicht, daß die zwischen dem Laufrad (10) und dem Verdichtergehäuse (5,15) bestehende Spalte mittels entsprechender Dichtelemente abgedichtet und die Umlaufkante der Einführöffnung (7) die Antriebswelle (9) mit radialem Spiel umgibt.
