Abstract

The compressor has a two-part compressor housing containing a rotor which is driven by the drive output shaft of a drive motor. The output shaft fits through an opening in one compressor housing half into engagement with the rotor hub. The compressor housing is made of plastics, with the gap between the rotor and the housing sealed by a sealing element. The sealing element encloses the peripheral edge of the insertion opening for the drive output shaft with a defined radial play. The rotor blades are attached to a carrier ring, axially projecting beyond the hub on at least one side, with the sealing element provided adjacent the carrier ring.
