Abstract

Mobile Rundfunkempfänger mit Auswertung von RDS-Daten sind bekannt. Bei diesen werden mit den RDS-Daten unter anderem alternative Frequenzen übertragen, über die dasselbe Programm wie über die eingestellte Frequenz empfangen werden kann und auf die ein Empfänger wechselt, wenn sich die Empfangsqualität verschlechtert. Weiterhin werden EON-Daten übertragen, die Frequenzen kennzeichnen, über die ein Programm mit Verkehrsfunk empfangen werden kann. Kurz bevor eine Verkehrsmeldung gesendet wird, wird über den Sender ein Umschaltsignal ausgesendet, das den Empfänger veranlaßt auf eine EON-Frequenz zu wechseln und die Verkehrsdurchsage auszugeben.
Insbesondere in Tunneln tritt das Problem auf, daß sich die Empfangsqualität der nicht über spezielle Tunnel-Füllsender ausgestrahlten Programme schnell verschlechtert. Dann verbessert auch ein Wechsel auf eine alternative Frequenz die Empfangsqualität nicht nachhaltig. Sobald der Rundfunkempfänger keine Verbesserung durch einen Wechsel auf alternative Frequenzen feststellt, werden im gesamten Übertragungsfrequenzbereich Übertragungssignale mit einer Mindest-Feldstärke gesucht, was einige Zeit dauert, und die neuen Frequenzen in dem Speicher abgelegt. Da durch die Tunnel-Füllsender meist Programme mit Verkehrsmeldungen ausgestrahlt werden, wird erfindungsgemäß durch einen Wechsel auf eine Frequenz, die mit den EON-Daten übertragen wurde, eine schnellere Verbesserung der Empfangsqualität erreicht und es wird vermieden, daß wegen einem Tunnel die Inhalte der Programmspeicher verändert werden.
Das Verfahren ist ohne zusätzliche schaltungstechnische Maßnahmen bei allen RDS-Rundfunkempfängern anwendbar.
