Bei der Buchausgabe für Klassiker o.ä. hochwertigen Büchern wiederum verwendet man gerne sehr dünne Decken, wie sie eingangs beschrieben sind, um die notwendige Weichheit und Biegsamkeit zu erreichen. Dabei wird vorzugsweise eine Lage des Deckelblattes in der Querrichtung kürzer ausgebildet als mindestens eine andere Lage, um das relative Gleiten mindestens einer der Lagen zu gewährleisten.
