Gemäß einem weiteren Aspekt der Erfindung weisen der Deckelrücken an der dem Buchblockrücken zugewandten Seite und / oder dieser selbst Haftmittel auf, aufgrund deren der Deckelrücken mit dem Buchblockrücken bei geschlossenem Buch wenigstens vor dessen erstmaligem Aufklappen fest verbunden ist und deren Haftwirkung ausreichend klein ist, um beim Aufklappen des Buches ein Ablösen des Buchblockrückens vom Deckelrücken zu erlauben. Eine Weiterbildung hierzu besteht darin, daß das oder die Haftmittel einen Dauerhaftkleber umfassen, der eine mindestens mehrmalige Wiederverklebung des Deckelrückens mit dem Buchblockrücken bei geschlossenem Buch erlaubt. Mit dieser Ausgestaltung der Erfindung unterscheidet sich diese vom eingangs genannten Stand der Technik, bei dem der Buchblockrücken nicht mit dem Deckelrücken verklebt ist, vielmehr wird der Deckel wie bei einer einfachen Kartonbroschur auch am Rücken angeklebt. Durch die erfindungsgemäße Verstärkung bzw. Versteifung des Deckelrückens und eine Veredelung dieser Rückenverstärkung wird nun aber eine dauerhaft feste Verklebung vom Deckelrücken am Buchblockrücken verhindert. Beim Schneidvorgang ist die Verbindung so fest, daß ein problemloses Schneiden sichergestellt und ein Ausfransen ausgeschlossen ist. Die Broschur hat eine exakt kantige Form. Bedingt durch die infolge Rückenverstärkung extrem hohe Biegesteifigkeit des Deckelrückens kann sich beim Aufschlagen der Broschur der Deckelrücken der Bewegung des Buchblockrückens nicht anpassen. Die Zugkräfte sind höher als die relativ geringe Haftkraft, weswegen sich der Buchblockrücken vom Deckelrücken löst, wenn die Broschur aufgeschlagen wird. Die Haftwirkung der Haftmittel wird vorzugsweise so gewählt, daß ein erneutes Verkleben des Buchblockrückens mit dem Deckelrücken stattfindet, wenn die Broschur zugeschlagen wird. Nachsatz) verklebt sind, an dessen anderem Bogen (äußeres Blatt) das jeweilige Deckelblatt angeklebt ist. Der Falz jedes Doppelbogens kann dabei mit dem Buchblockrücken bündig angeordnet sein, wird jedoch vorzugsweise im Abstand von der jeweiligen Kante des Buchblockrückens angeordnet und es ist weiterhin vorgesehen, daß in diesem Bereich die Deckelblätter jeweils eine Faltrille oder ein Faltrillenpaar aufweisen. Der Deckel wird also nicht mehr unmittelbar am Buchblock und damit am kritischen ersten und letzten Blatt angeklebt sondern am jeweils äußeren Bogen des vorzugsweise breit angeklebten Vor- bzw. Nachsatzes. The tensile forces of the cover can thus be fully transferred to these two outer sheets when the cover is opened, without a substantial transfer of force being exerted on the inner sheet of the header or trailer. From this inner sheet almost no forces act on the first or last sheet of the book block. This means that it does not require a backing layer on the back, which makes production cheaper overall.

Das in der Zeichnung dargestellte Buch 10 besteht aus einem Buchblock 12 und einem Deckel 14, der zwei Deckelblätter 16, 18 und einen Deckelrücken 20 aufweist. Der Buchblock 12 ist hier mit einem rückseitigen Fälzel 22 dargestellt, welches mittels einer Leimschicht 24 mit den rückseitigen Kanten der Blätter des Buchblockes 12 verklebt ist. Das Fälzel ist vorn und hinten umgeschlagen und zusätzlich in den Umschlagbereichen am ersten Blatt 26 und am letzten Blatt 28 angeleimt.The

Die Oberfläche der Veredelungsschicht 34 weist zusätzlich eine Haftklebeschicht 36 auf, die mit einer Haftmittelschicht 38 zusammenwirkt, welche sich an der freien Oberfläche des Rückens des Fälzels 22 befindet. Im geschlossenen Zustand des Buches 10 sind die beiden Haftmittelschichten 36, 38 miteinander fest verbunden, sodaß der Buchblock 12 am Deckelrücken 20 befestigt ist. Diese feste Verbindung erlaubt ein problemloses Schneiden des Buches, sodaß die Broschur eine exakt kantige Form aufweist, die auch bei Gebrauch erhalten bleibt, wobei im zugeschlagenen Zustand des Buches kein deutlich sichtbarer Spalt zwischen dem Buchblockrücken 12a und dem Deckelrücken 20 vorhanden ist. Öffnet man nun aber das Buch 10, so hebt sich der Buchblockrücken 12a zuerst in der Mitte vom Deckelrücken 20 ab, da dieser dank des Verstärkungsstreifens 32 extrem biegesteif ist. Die Spaltbildung erfolgt zwischen den beiden Haftmittelschichten 36, 38 und beim weiteren Aufschlagen wird der Buchblockrücken 12a vom Deckelrücken 20 vollständig gelöst und hebt sich von diesem ab. Beim anschließenden Zuschlagen des Buches gelangen die beiden Haftmittelschichten 36, 38 wieder in Kontakt und es tritt eine erneute Haftverbindung zwischen Buchblockrücken 12a und Deckelrücken 20 ein.The surface of the
Die Deckelblätter 16, 18 sind über sogenannte Vor- und Nachsätze mit dem ersten Blatt 26 bzw. dem letzten Blatt 28 des Buchblockes 12 verbunden. Der Vorsatz besteht aus einem Doppelbogen 40, 42, der in einem Abstand von der Blockrückenkante einen Falz 44 aufweist. Der Außenbogen 40 ist breitflächig mittels eines Klebestreifens 46 mit dem Deckel 16 verbunden, während der Innenbogen 42, ebenfalls breitflächig, mittels Klebstoffschicht 48 mit dem ersten Blatt 26 des Buchblockes 12 verbunden ist. Im Bereich dieses Falzes 44 weist das Deckelblatt 16 eine Faltrille 50 auf, sodaß beim Aufklappen des Buches der Deckel 16 um diese Faltrille 50 verschwenkt, dabei die Zugkraft auf den Außenbogen 40 des Vorsatzes überträgt. Am Falz 44 des Doppelbogens 40, 42 wird ein Gelenk gebildet. Das Aufklappen des Deckelblattes 16 übt praktisch keine Zugbeanspruchung auf das erste Blatt 26 des Buchblockes 12 aus. Eine Ausreißgefahr des ersten Blattes 26 bzw. letzten Blattes 28 vom Buchblockrücken ist also eliminiert.The

- Book in form of a booklet comprising a book block (12) consisting of a plurality of sheets connected at the back (12a) and a flexible cover (14) containing the book block (12), front and rear cover sheets (16, 18) thereof directly or indirectly connected to the first (26) and the last sheet (28) of the book block (12) respectively, whereby the cover back (20) at least with its largest portion is spaced from the book block back (12a) when the book (10) is opened characterized in that the cover back (20) has a greater flexural strength than at least the largest portion of at least one of the cover sheets (16, 18).
- Book according to claim 1 characterized in that the cover back at its inside is glued together with a stiffening strip (32) extending substantially over the whole back width.
- Book according to claim 2 characterized in that the stiffening strip (32) to a largest extent consists of non-fibrous material.
- Book according to claim 2 or 3 characterized in that the free surface of the stiffening strip (32) is hardened by upgrading.
- Book according to one or more of claims 1 to 4 characterized in that the cover back (20) facing the book block back (12a) and/or said one itsself comprises adhesive means by which the cover back (20) is fastened to the book block back (12a) when the book is closed and at least before the book is opened for the first time and the adherence of which is small enough to allow a separation of the book block back (12a) from the cover back (20) during opening of the book (10).
- Book according to claim 5, characterized in that the adhesive means (36, 38) comprise a permanent pressure sensitive adhesive allowing re-gluing together the cover back (20) with the book block back (12a) at least several times when the book (10) is opened.
- Book according to one of the claims 1 to 6 characterized in that the first (26) and the last (28) sheet of the book block (12) is glued to one sheet (40, 52) of folded double sheets (40, 42; 52, 54) (fly-leaf and trailer leaf) respectively, at the other sheet (42, 54) thereof the cover sheet (16, 18) is glued respectively.
- Book according to claim 7, characterized in that the folding line (44) of each double sheet (40, 42; 52, 54) lies in the region of one of the edges of the book block back (12a).
- Book according to one of the claims 1 to 7 characterized in that the folding line (44) of the double sheet (40, 42; 52, 54) is spaced from the respective edge of the book block back (12a).
- Book according to claim 9 characterized in that the cover sheets (16, 18) have a folding groove or pair of thightly adjacent folding grooves (50) respectively in the region of the folding lines (44) of the double sheets (40, 42; 52, 54).
