Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for renovating suspended ceilings from mineral fiber boards inserted in ⊥-profiles of a supporting system arranged under the fixed ceiling, furthermore to a suspended ceiling and suspension elements produced by the method for carrying out the method.
Suspended ceilings, consisting of mineral fiber boards inserted in reverse T-profiles (main and cross rails), in particular fiber cement boards containing asbestos, must be quickly renovated according to current knowledge. The existing mineral fiber plates are preferably replaced by metal plates. In addition to the inevitable costs for the new panels, there are usually costs for dismantling the existing ceiling and often costs for changing or adapting the support system.
The object of the present invention was to optimize costs in the renovation of existing suspended ceilings made of mineral fiber boards.
This object has now been achieved according to the invention in a method of the type defined in the introduction in that, from below, joints in the suspended ceiling to be renovated are used to attach hanging elements which protrude downwards to the supporting flanges of the ⊥ profiles, and that new ones Suspended ceiling elements are hung at a distance below the suspended ceiling to be renovated on the hanging elements protruding downwards.
The basic idea was to leave the existing ceiling in place (no dismantling) and to use the existing support system together with additional suspension elements to be attached to it, in order to hang new ceiling elements below the ceiling to be renovated. Apart from the new ceiling elements, the effort is minimal, since thanks to the existing support system and suitable cross point hangers, even larger plate formats can be used.
If the new metal plate elements are provided with so-called acoustic fleece on the back, the acoustics can be improved at the same time. With the same procedure e.g. Existing fire protection ceilings can also be renovated economically.
The invention also relates to a suspended ceiling construction produced by the method according to the invention.
The invention further relates to a particularly suitable suspension element for carrying out the method, which is characterized in that the element is designed as a cross-point hanger in the form of a clip made of resilient material, the U-shaped clip having two legs which are separated in the longitudinal direction and which on have free upper end receptacles for snapping into the support flanges of the ⊥-profiles of the support system and which can be rebounded both in the leg plane and transversely to it.
The element is preferably made of spring steel. Appropriately upward cheeks, possibly with a preferably central notch, are provided on the side edges of the connecting web of the legs, into which the new suspended ceiling elements can be suspended from above with suspension lugs in their longitudinal edges.

Fig. 1 and 2 of the drawing show a support system arranged under a fixed ceiling (not shown) of main and
