    a second sub-assembly integral in rotation with a first sub-assembly, and incorporating said indexing device (115, 119),
    and a third sub-assembly integral in rotation with the first two and incorporating said locking device (93, 94).
  3. A device according to one of Claims 1 to 2, characterised in that the locking device incorporates first and second linking elements (91), for example turnbuckles, that are hinged, at a first end, to the rod (101) of the locking jack (100), and a second end, respectively to first and second pivoting locking elements (93) co-operating with an edge of the bay (8) so as to lock it.
  4. A device according to Claim 3, characterised in that the locking jack (100) is a linear jack whose rod (101) is vertical and in that the first and second linking elements (91) are inclined with respect to the horizontal.
  5. A device according to one of the above Claims, characterised in that at least one linking element (91) is a turnbuckle that can be adjusted so as to take up the play likely to exist in the locked position.
  6. A device according to one of Claims 3 to 5, characterised in that the first and second pivoting locking elements (93) are placed in the vicinity of an inner edge (160) of the bay (8) and in that it incorporates first and second rods (106) hinged at a first end, to the second end respectively of the first and second linking elements (91) and at a second end, respectively to third and fourth pivoting locking elements (94), placed in the vicinity of an external edge of the bay (8) and co-operating with it so as to lock it.
  7. A device according to one of Claims 3 to 6, characterised in that the third and fourth rods (106) also comprise an adjustable turnbuckle (92) that allows the play likely to exist in the locked position to be taken up.
  8. A device according to one of the previous Claims, characterised in that the fixed assembly incorporates at least one fixed support (110) having housing (108) for a support element (86, 116, 117) and in that the indexing device incorporates:
    at least one mobile element (122) having a plurality of support elements (86, 116, 117) corresponding to different adjustment positions,
    at least one fastening element (115) for a selected support element in said housing (108).
  9. A device according to Claim 8, characterised in that the fixed support (110) incorporates a profiled area (145) having an offset part in the vicinity of the housing so as to allow the support elements (86, 116, 117) to successively slip past in the vicinity of said housing (108).
  10. A device according to one of Claims 8 or 9, characterised in that the mobile assembly incorporates two lifting elements (99) able to be placed above the internal edge (160) of the bay (8) so that when the bay (8) swivels forwards under the action of the tipping jacks (21) of a bridge deployment device on said vehicle the mobile assembly is caused to be lifted.
  11. A device according to one of Claims 8 to 10, characterised in that it comprises slings (140) linking the stay (60) of said deployment device to the mobile assembly so as to allow the mobile assembly to be lifted under the action of a stay jack (23) when the vehicle is not carrying a bridge.
  12. A device according to Claim 2, characterised in that the locking device incorporates at least one rotating linear jack (70) carried by the third sub-assembly and whose rod (71) has an end head (72) that can be rotated between a locking position and an unlocking position.
