Abstract

The container consists of an outer cover made from two panels hinged to a spine, and an inner plastics liner (2) moulded to form two rectangular housings which fit one inside the other when the cover is closed. The two housings (6, 7) are of the same depth, one (6) forming a base and the other (7) a lid which fits over it and makes a firm contact with it to keep out dust and provide sufficient friction to hold them together in the closed position. The base of the housing has notches (21) in two opposite edges to facilitate the removal of its contents.

Description

The invention relates to a container for specially for the storage of content including a multiple sheets or overlapping walls - the case if necessary free from each other - such than photographs for example.

We already know box-shaped containers comprising two half-shells connected together by a back flexible hinge and nestable one in the other.

According to documents EP-A-284,458 and US-A-4,641,750, the two half-shells are dissimilar in their height or depth, one being greater than the other. In addition, the external joint plane of the two half-shells nested in the closed box is substantially located at middle of the slice. Besides the fact that the parting line is unsightly, the difference in height or depth between the two half-shells prohibits stable overlapping boxes in the open state, which is required for mechanization or storage.

According to document AU-A-539 485, the two half-shells appear to be about the same height or depth but the outer seal is also located at middle of the slice.

The container of document EP-A-0 582 532 does not include than a complete half-shell with the adjoining wall container hinge does not have the same height than the other walls in the open state of the container. Also, this configuration does not allow stable overlay boxes in the open state.

In addition, this container includes two sides separate but partially attached to each other, and is thus fragile.

Containers according to documents US-A-4 641 750 and AU-A-539 485 are intended for the storage of cassettes video, i.e. an object, if not monobloc, at least massive and unitary. Such an object can be stored in a first of the two half-shells of the open box while protruding above this first half-shell so to be covered by the second half-shell of the box closed. Indeed, the projecting part of the object to be stored not only is it not bothersome - since it is intended to be housed in the second half-shell - but it offers the advantage of facilitating the gripping of the object.

This situation is not found when the object to store is in the form of a multiplicity of overlapping sheets or walls - if necessary free relative to each other - such as photographs, playing cards or the like.

The invention is concerned with more and more specifically to this type of object, for which the containers according to documents US-A-4 641 750 and AU-A-539 485 are not suitable.

The invention therefore relates to a container for photographs or equivalent which provides solutions to specific problems of obtaining a seal sufficient - especially for dust - of a height minimum overall in relation to the height of the content to tidy up - therefore a minimum volume loss or volume maximum useful, maintained in the closed state as effective as possible, possible mechanization and storage implying that the boxes can be placed easily superimposed in the open state, with a minimum cost price, and an aesthetic related to that of the content.

The container according to the invention is intended specially for the storage of content including a multiple sheets or overlapping walls - the case if necessary free from each other - such than photographs for example.

The container is of the general type in the form of a box monobloc comprising two half-shells 6a, 7a connected between them, nestable one inside the other.

This container comprises two walls 1, 2 planes, thin, generally rectangular in shape and of the same size, which are fixed edge to edge against each other by bonding or any other similar means. These two walls 1, 2 have a certain hold but allow folding repeated in a corresponding area forming a hinge.

According to a variant embodiment not shown, the two separate walls 1, 2 come from the same folded sheet.

A first wall, called the outer wall 1, forms both the cover of the container as well as its back, where signs, such as logos, mentions. This wall 1 can have on its external face a label holder.

The wall 1 is made of or from cardboard, paper, plastic or molded cellulose.

A second wall, called inner wall 2, forms both inside the container, which is intended for receive the content, and its slice. Wall 2 is made in cardboard, paper, thermoformed plastic, or in molded cellulose.

According to a possible embodiment, the container is made of a single material, preferably of material molded plastic, cardboard or cellulose.

According to another mode, it is carried out in several materials.

One can in particular provide that the outer wall 1 of the container is made of cardboard while the inner wall 2 is made of plastic; or that the outer wall 1 is in cardboard while the inner wall 2 is made of cellulose molded.

As shown in Figure 3, the outer wall 1 delimits two panels 3a, 3b planes or substantially plans, rectangular, and substantially identical. These panels 3a, 3b are placed laterally on the wall 1, form the large faces of the cover and are separated by a deformable connecting zone 4, also planar, forming back. This zone 4 is placed in the middle on the wall 1 between the two longitudinal free edges 27 and 28 of the wall 1, while extending parallel to its two free transverse edges 29 and 30.

At the intersection of each panel 3a, 3b and the connecting zone 4 and over its entire length, the wall exterior 1 has two parallel outlets 12a, 12b forming two lines or two linear zones of folding of the container and protruding towards the outer face of the outer wall 1.

The container can take two extreme positions: an open position (Figures 1 and 3) where the two panels 3a, 3b and the connection zone 4 are located in the same plane, and a closed position (Figure 4) where both panels 3a, 3b are superimposed one above the other after folding the container at the location of the outlets 12a, 12b, which avoid embrittlement of the container, the area of connection 4 constituting the back of the container. Preferably, the height of this back, and therefore the width of the area of link 4, counted parallel to the longitudinal edges 27 and 28, is minimal compared to the stack height of the content to store.

The inner wall 2, located to the right and against the outer wall 1, first forms along the edges 27, 28, 29, 30, a peripheral border 5 of rigid association with the outer wall 1 flat or substantially flat.

It also forms a connecting zone 8 deformable, also flat, located opposite the corresponding connection 4 of the outer wall 1, and same dimension.

On either side of this connection zone 8, the inner wall 2 forms two frames 6, 7 projecting from relative to the rest of the wall 2 and in particular the border 5, the connection zone 8 and the bottoms 25a, 25b of the frames 6, 7. Frames 6, 7 are adjacent to zone 8 by one of their sides 13, 15 and at border 5 by their other sides 19a, 20a, 19b, 17b, 20b, 17a.

These frames 6, 7 are thus located opposite the panels 3a, 3b and form two half-shells 6a, 7a with the internal parts forming the bottom belonging to the wall interior 2.

It can also be provided that the interior wall 2 comprises two outlets 12c, 12d forming two lines of folding in line with those 12a, 12b of the outer wall 1.

These upsets 12c, 12d will then be of form complementary to those of the outer wall 1.

According to a particular embodiment, the bottom 25a, 25b of one and / or the other of the two half-shells 6a, 7a has reliefs and / or a covering trim added, allowing a certain rigidity of said bottom 25a, 25b, and therefore of the container, or facilitating the packaging of the content, or improving the aesthetics of the content.

Preferably, these reliefs are arranged in rows and columns parallel to the longitudinal edges 27, 28 and transverse 29, 30 of the wall 1.

These reliefs can appear differently. They can for example be arranged in rows and columns following directions other than those mentioned previously.

These reliefs can have other forms of production. They can present themselves as patterns repetitive, such as geometric shapes or logos.

The two frames 6, 7 are a basic frame 6, normally intended to receive content and dimensions substantially equal to those of said content, and a frame cap 7, of dimensions substantially greater than those of the base frame 6 and intended to cover said frame 6 by interlocking with the latter in the closed state of the container. The base frame 6 is placed, inside the closed state, inside the container and the styling frame 7 outside. It is therefore the latter which forms the edge of the visible container outwardly.

The two frames 6, 7 have the same or substantially the same height, which is substantially equal to the transverse width of the connection zone 8 and therefore of the back of the container. The height of the frames 6, 7 is counted perpendicular to the planes of panels 3a, 3b and funds 25a, 25b.

The interlocking of the two frames 6, 7 is carried out on all or substantially all of their height, the styling frame 7 coming, outside, at right and in basic frame look 6.

As shown in Figure 4, in the closed state of the container, the outer joint plane 9 of the two half-shells 6a, 7a is located at or substantially opposite the location of the junction 5a between the border 5 and the frame base 6, so it's almost invisible.

It is the same for the free edges 17b, 20b, 17a of the styling frame 7. By edges is meant free the small faces forming the thickness of the frames 6, 7, these songs extending parallel to the planes of panels 3a, 3b and bottoms 25a, 25b.

The outer face 10 of the base frame 6 and the face internal 11 of the styling frame 7 cooperate with one the other, in the closed state of the container, with one contact closed device continuous, or substantially continuous, all around the housing formed by the two half-shells 6a, 7a associated with each other. This contact is suitable for ensuring a certain tightness of said housing - and therefore of its content - especially dust.

Preferably, said contact is with gentle friction in order to maintain the container on its own closed. In this version, the container with lines folding 12a, 12b can be devoid of specific members locking in the closed state such as projections and recesses complementary.

In addition, the external face 10 of the base frame 6 and the internal face 11 of the styling frame 7 are essentially smooth and devoid of substantial localized reliefs. This structure makes it possible to strengthen the seal against dust.

As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the frame of base 6 forms at its foot adjoining the bottom 25a, on the face on its side 13 adjacent to and along the area of connection 8, a projecting recess 14, directed towards outside the base frame 6, towards the area of liaison 8.

This recess 14 is adjacent or substantially adjoining link area 8.

At the place of its free projecting song, the frame styling 7 forms on its side 15 adjacent to and along the connection zone 8, a recess 16 recessed by relative to the free edges projecting from the other edges 17a, 17b, 20b of the styling frame 7.

Free edges 17a, 17b on the sides of the frame cap 7, adjacent to the recessed recess 16 and extending perpendicular to the connection zone 8, are locally rounded at their adjacent ends 18a, 18b at the offset 16 to ensure continuity with said recessed recess 16.

Thus, the recesses recessed 16 and protruding 14 are intended to form through their cooperation one in the other mutual support when the container is closed, the rounded ends 18a, 18b of the edges 17a, 17b facilitating the folding of the container around the lines of folding 12a, 12b.

Preferably, the height of the step in projection 14 and the recess depth 16 are equal or substantially equal. This height and this depth are counted perpendicular to the planes of panels 3a, 3b and bottoms 25a, 25b.

In the embodiment shown (see figure 5), this height and this depth are substantially equal to a third of the total height of the frames 6, 7.

In addition, the transverse widths l and l of surface projection 14 and recess 16 are equal or substantially equal. These widths are counted perpendicular to the sides 13, 15 of the frames 6, 7 where the recesses 14, 16 are located and in parallel to the plans of the panels 3a, 3b of the bottoms 25a, 25b.

Advantageously, the transverse width the recess of the recess 16 is equal or substantially equal to the transverse width l '' of the free edge in projection on the side of the base frame 13 where the raised projection 14.

Thus, the width 1 of the projecting recess 14 and the width l '' of the free edge on the side 13 of the frame base 6 where said recess 14 is located are substantially identical.

In addition, depending on the embodiment shown, the two sides 19a, 19b of the base frame 6 extending perpendicular to the bonding area 8 are each with a transverse width greater than that of other sides 13, 20a. The transverse width of the sides 19a, 19b is counted parallel to the edges 29 and 30.

We can however foresee that only one of these sides 19a, 19b and / or the other sides 13, 20a, have this feature.

To facilitate handling of the container when opened or the contents of said container, one at less of the two frames 6, 7 comprises from its edges free at least one passage notch 21, constituted an opening allowing the passage of a finger. This finger is that of the user or an organ of a implementation of the container.

The bottom of a passage indentation 21, opposite to the opening adjacent to the free edge is, on the side of the outer face 10 of frame 6 where it is located, apart slightly from the foot 22 of said frame 6.

So even if the container is not completely closed, its watertightness remains assured, the notch being obscured.

On the other hand, in order to allow better entering the contents of the container, the bottom of the notch 21 may be, on the side of the internal face 10a of the frame 6, attached to foot 22 of said frame 6.

In the embodiment shown, the frame of base 6 has two free songs passage indentations 21 while the covering frame 7 in is devoid.

More specifically, at least one notch 21 is formed on each of the two sides 19a, 19b of the frame 6 extending perpendicular to the connection zone 8, these notches 21 being located opposite one another and substantially in the middle of the two sides 19a, 19b.

In addition, side 13 of frame 6 adjacent to the area connection 8 is devoid of passage notch 21.

We could also foresee that at least one passage notch 21 is formed on the side 20a, 20b of the frame 6, 7 parallel to, but distant from the area of liaison 8.

It can also be provided that the container does not contains no notch 21.

According to a particular embodiment, the container may also contain at least one reserve, not represented, recessed and / or limited by one or more protrusions for a secondary object, such as negatives, vouchers, etc.

This reserve can be provided either by or in the bottom 25a, 25b of a half-shell 6a, 7a, either in a song free enlarged on one side 19a, 19b of the base frame 6 on the side a passage notch 21, as described beforehand.

Besides this reservation, one can also consider the fixing, by gluing or the like, of an envelope, or other holding member, which may contain elements annexes, on the bottom 25a, 25b of one or two half-shells 6a, 7a.

Finally, reliefs, not shown, in hollow, and / or protruding, wedging the contents of the container can be present on the internal face 10a and / or the bottom 25a of the basic frame 6.

These wedging reliefs preferably include a or several recesses provided in the internal face 10a of the basic frame 6. These recesses delimit, in the corresponding side of frame 6, part of larger transverse width and part of smaller width transverse where there is then a passage notch 21.

Finally, the invention relates to an assembly comprising a container as previously disclosed and content housed in the base half-shell 6a, presented under the form of a multiplicity of overlapping sheets or walls - where appropriate free from each other -, such as photographs or playing cards by example.

This set may further include an object secondary, such as negatives, vouchers etc, housed in the reserve or in an envelope or equivalent fixed on the bottom 25a, 25b of one of the half-shells 6a, 7a.

Claims (31)

1. A container, of the type comprising:

   an outer cardboard wall (1);

   an inner wall (2) of thermoformed plastic, situated in line with and against the outer wall (1), and so shaped as to form:

   a peripheral rim (5) for rigid association with the outer wall (1);

   a projecting base frame (6) and covering frame (7), contiguous with the rim (5) and forming, with the internal parts of the inner wall (2), two half-shells (6a, 7a) able to cooperate by nesting when the container is closed,

   a deformable connecting area (8),

   the two frames (6, 7) being of the same height when the container is open and when it is closed, their nesting being effected over the whole of this height, the base frame (6) being placed - when the container is closed - on the inside and the covering frame (7) on the outside, forming the edge of the container, the external joining line (9) of the two half-shells (6a, 7a) being situated at the junction point (5a) between the rim (5) and the base frame (6);
   characterised in that, in combination:

   the external face (10) of the base frame (6) and the internal face (11) of the covering frame (7) cooperate with each other, when the container is closed, with a substantially continuous closed peripheral contact able to ensure a degree of impermeability, particularly to dust,

   the base frame (6) forms, at its foot, on the external face of its side (13) adjacent to the connecting area (8), a projecting step (14), directed towards the outside of the base frame (6), in the direction of the connecting area (8),

   the covering frame (7) forms, at its projecting free face, on its side (15) adjacent to the connecting area (8), a step (16) recessed in relation to the free projecting faces of the other edges of the covering frame (7),

   the hollow (16) and projecting (14) steps being intended to form, through their cooperation one in the other, a mutual support upon closure of the container.
2. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that the external face (10) of the base frame (6) and the internal face (11) of the covering frame (7) cooperate with one another, when the container is closed, with a contact with gentle friction suitable for ensuring in itself that the container is kept closed.
3. A container according to Claim 2, characterised in that it has no specific parts, such as complementary projections and recesses, for locking in the closed state.
4. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that the height of the projecting step (14) and the depth of the recessed step (16) are equal or substantially equal.
5. A container according to Claim 4, characterised in that the height of the projecting step (14) and the depth of the recessed step (16) are equal or substantially equal to one third of the total height of the frames (6, 7).
6. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that the transverse widths (l) and (l') of the projecting step (14) and of the recessed step (16) are equal or substantially equal.
7. A container according to Claim 6, characterised in that the transverse width (l') of the recessed step (16) is equal or substantially equal to the transverse width (l'') of the free projecting face of the side (13) of the base frame (6) on which the projecting step (14) is located.
8. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that the external face (10) of the base frame (6) is, with the exception of the projecting step (14), essentially smooth and without any substantial localised reliefs.
9. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that the internal face (11) of the covering frame (7) is essentially smooth and without any substantial localised reliefs.
10. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that the projecting step (14) of the base frame (6) is contiguous or substantially contiguous with the connecting area (8).
11. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that the projecting (14) and recessed (16) steps extend over the entire length, from one end to the other, of each of the two sides (13, 15) of the base frame (6) and covering frame (7) on which they are situated.

17. A container according to Claim 15, characterised in that at least one passage scallop (21) is formed on the side (20) of the frame (6, 7) remote from the connecting area (8).
18. A container according to Claim 15, characterised in that at least one passage scallop (21) is formed on each of the two sides of the frame (19a, 19b) extending transversely with respect to the connecting area (8).
19. A container according to Claim 18, characterised in that the respective passage scallops (21) on the two sides (19a, 19b) are situated opposite one another.
20. A container according to Claim 15, characterised in that there is no passage scallop (21) on the side (13) of the frame adjacent to the connecting area (8).
21. A container according to Claim 15, characterised in that the bottom of a passage scallop (21) is, on the side of the external face (10) of the frame (6) where it is situated, distant from the foot (22) of the said frame (6) and/or, on the side of the internal face (10a), contiguous with the said foot (22).
22. A container according to Claim 15, characterised in that a scallop (21) consists of an opening allowing the passage of a finger in order to manipulate the content of the container and/or the container itself.
23. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that at least one of the two sides (19a, 19b) of the base frame (6) extending transversely with respect to the connecting area (8) is of greater transverse width than its other sides (13, 20a).
24. A container according to Claim 1, characterised in that it also has at least one space, recessed and/or delimited by one or more projections, for a secondary object.
25. A container according to one of Claims 23 and 24, characterised in that a space is formed recessed in the broadened free face of one side (19a, 19b) of the base frame (6) extending transversely with respect to the connecting area (8).
26. A container according to Claim 24, characterised in that the space is formed through or in the bottom (25a, 25b) of a half-shell (6a, 7a).
27. A method for the production of containers according to any one of Claims 1 to 26, in which the starting point is the plane and distinct outer walls (1) and inner walls (2), characterised by the following consecutive steps:

    the inner wall (2) is thermoformed according to the required configuration;

    the internal face of the outer wall (1) is coated with glue;

    the previously configured inner wall (2), through its internal face, is placed on the corresponding internal face of the outer wall (1), and reciprocal bonding is ensured;

    the containers thus produced are stored, successively, in the open state, and stacked one on top of another.
28. A method according to Claim 27, characterised in that outer walls (1) with indentations (12a, 12b) are used and the internal face of the outer walls are coated with glue, with the exception at least of the indentations (12a, 12b).
29. A method according to Claim 28, characterised in that outer walls (1) with indentations (12a, 12b) are used and the internal face of the outer walls is entirely coated with glue.
30. An assembly comprising a container according to any one of Claims 1 to 26 and a content in the form of a multiplicity of sheets or partitions placed on top of each other - where applicable free with respect to each other - housed in the base half-shell (6a).
31. An assembly according to Claim 30, also comprising a secondary object housed in a space formed in the container.
