Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a refractory lining for metallurgical vessels, in particular steel pans, consisting of a cast wear lining facing the melt and a permanent lining arranged between the inner pan wall and the wear lining.
In the production of steel, the steel melt produced is poured into so-called pans, which consist of a steel container with an inner refractory lining, for transport, but also for carrying out metallurgical work such as alloy adjustment, desulfurization and the like. This refractory lining is subject to chemical and mechanical wear, particularly in the upper area of slag formation, so that the pan delivery has to be renewed from time to time.
Whereas in the past the refractory lining consisted mainly of brick refractory bricks, more and more people have recently started to manufacture the refractory lining from poured and compacted refractory materials. For this purpose, a pan template, which generally tapers downward, is inserted into the interior of the pan in such a way that a gap is formed between the inner pan wall and the template, which corresponds to the desired thickness of the subsequent refractory delivery and into which a casting compound is poured. This is by z. B. compacted vibration and then dried or burned.
Since the pans can no longer be used for safety reasons if the thickness of the refractory lining falls below a certain minimum, but there is still a not inconsiderable remaining layer thickness of the lining, the refractory lining has been built up in two layers in such a way that a so-called permanent lining is initially arranged directly on the wall of the pan , which is followed by the internal wear lining.
This means that only the remaining wear lining has to be removed when the pan is relined.
The permanent lining used according to the prior art consists of refractory plates, which are about 20 mm thick and are stuck on top of one another to avoid continuous joints.
In the case of refractory linings constructed in one layer, a method has become known, for example from European patent specification 0 514 383, according to which the remaining lining is partially removed or roughened by mechanical processing before the pan is relined. However, this mechanical processing of the monolithic infeed is comparatively complex, and there is also the risk that cracks will form in the remaining feed.
The invention has for its object to provide a generic refractory lining, in which an application of the wear lining is simplified.
This object is achieved in that the permanent lining consists of a refractory mass cast using a formwork template, which is connected to the inner pan wall with the aid of anchor elements.
In the refractory lining according to the invention, it is first possible to produce permanent feed monolithically using a formwork template. This makes it possible to dispense with prefabricated refractory molded parts, such as have been used previously. There is also no need to glue the individual refractory plates to the inner pan wall.
The permanent lining applied according to the invention is firmly connected to this with the aid of anchor elements which are arranged on the inner pan wall, so that overall the dimensional stability of the pan or the permanent lining is increased.
The layer thickness of the permanent lining is preferably between 60 and 150 mm, so it is significantly increased compared to the prior art. For this reason, the remaining layer of the wear lining to be processed is relatively thin, so that the amount of residues to be disposed of is also comparatively small.
Another significant advantage of the permanent chuck according to the invention results from the fact that the remaining wear chuck can be slit linearly from top to bottom, for example with the aid of a chisel, up to the joint between the permanent chuck and the remaining wear chuck, so that, depending on the number of slots, two or more Circular segment-like wear lining areas that can be easily removed from the permanent lining, for example by tilting the pan.
In this way, a new delivery of the wear lining is possible in a significantly shorter time than with the previously known refractory linings.
Experience has shown that the steel pans show different wear behavior in the vertical direction such that the wear in the upper pan area is significantly increased. On the one hand, this is due to the higher bath temperature in the upper melt area, on the other hand, a chemically very aggressive slag floats on the steel melt, which in the feed attacks this area very intensely. Accordingly, it is advantageous to increase the layer thickness of the permanent lining in the lower pan area, so that the remaining wear lining layer to be removed is relatively thin everywhere.
The anchor elements already mentioned are preferably dovetail-shaped and are welded to the inner pan wall, for example using the known stud welding method. These anchor elements ensure an excellent attachment of the permanent feed and an increase in the stability of the pan. It is possible with the refractory lining according to the invention to provide a fiber insulation material between the inner pan wall and the actual permanent lining, which results in a significant improvement in the insulation effect, so that the outside temperature of the pan drops from usually approximately 300 ° C. to approximately 200 ° C. The fiber insulation mats can be glued in a known manner to the inner surface of the pan wall between the anchor elements, the anchor elements with the integrated bases of the cast refractory material preventing the fiber mats from being compressed.
This was not possible with the previous refractory linings because the fiber insulation mats were pressed together and destroyed by the pressure of the actual lining.
The refractory material used for the permanent lining can contain steel needles, which are added in an amount of approx. 1%, for example. Through this internal reinforcement z. B. thermal stresses are more easily absorbed or reduced, so that the susceptibility to cracking of the feed decreases.
The wear food to be applied to the permanent food usually consists of a spinel-forming casting compound, so that it is advantageous to dry the permanent food before applying the wear food so that the spinel-forming materials are not exposed to additional steam from the permanent food can be hydrated.
The casting compounds used for the permanent and the wear lining are preferably thixotropic, so that they can be easily introduced into the gap between the pan wall and the formwork template with the aid of known pumping and distribution systems.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing, for example, and is explained in detail below with reference to the drawing.
