  • l'alésage central de la tête de massage et l'arbre moteur présentent des formes adaptées pour permettre à ladite tête de massage de subir des débattements angulaires selon toutes les directions, relativement audit arbre moteur,
  • des moyens élastiques d'appui radial et axial sont adaptés, d'une part, pour solliciter la tête de massage vers une position stable d'équilibre relativement à l'arbre moteur, et d'autre part, pour autoriser des débattements angulaires et des déplacements axiaux relatifs de ladite tête de massage et dudit arbre moteur, à partir de ladite position d'équilibre.

Claims (14)

  1. Massage apparatus comprising a motor (5), a motor shaft (15, 18) designed to be driven in rotation by the said motor, a massage head (26-29) carrying massage devices (30, 31; 32, 33; 34) and having a central bore (27) which can enable it to be mounted around the motor shaft (15, 18), and means for holding the massage head (26-29) adapted so as to secure the said massage head and the motor shaft (15, 18) together in rotation, the said massage apparatus being characterized in that :
    the means for holding the massage head (26-29) include upper (22) and lower (19) stop devices arranged so as to permit an axial movement of the said massage head relative to the motor shaft (15, 18),
    the central bore (27) of the massage head (26-29) and the motor shaft (15, 18) have forms adapted so as to permit the said massage head to undergo angular displacements in all directions, relative to the said motor shaft,
    radial and axial elastic supporting means (20-21) are adapted, on the one hand, to urge the massage head (26-29) towards a position of stable equilibrium relative to the motor shaft (15, 18) and, on the other hand, to allow angular displacements and axial movements relative to the said massage head and the said motor shaft, from the said position of equilibrium.
  2. Massage apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the supporting elastic means include at least one axial supporting elastic device (20) interposed between the massage head (26-29) and at least one stop device (22) and at least one radial supporting elastic device (21) housed inside the bore (27) of the said massage head, around the motor shaft (15,18).
  3. Massage apparatus according to claim 2, characterized in that the supporting elastic devices consist of 0-rings (20,21).
  4. Massage apparatus according to one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that the bore (27) of the massage head (26-29) has longitudinally the shape of two opposite tapers (27a, 27c) separated by a neck (27b) with a cross section matching that of the motor shaft (15, 18), each of the said tapers having an increasing cross section in the direction of one end of the said bore, and each radial supporting elastic component (21) being disposed in the vicinity of one of the said ends of the bore.
  5. Massage apparatus according to claim 4, characterized in that the lower stop device consists of at least one component (19) with a shape adapted so as to butt up in the region of the neck (27b) of the bore (27) of the massage head (26-29), each of the said elements being able to move aside radially in an elastic and reversible manner under the effect of a thrust resulting from an axial force with a predetermined intensity exerted on the massage head.
  6. Massage apparatus according to claim 5, characterized in that the lower stop device consists of an 0-ring (19) housed in an annular throat provided in the motor shaft (15,18).
  7. Massage apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the motor shaft (15,18) has a portion of its length designed to be housed in the bore (27) of the massage head (26-29), with a polygonal cross section, the said bore having a matching polygonal internal shape.
  8. Massage apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the motor (5) is a continuous current motor associated with a reducing gear (11,12) with an endless screw (11).
  9. Massage apparatus according to claim 8, characterized in that it includes a casing (1) enclosing the motor (5) and its reducing gear (11,12), provided with an orifice housing a bearing (17), through which the motor shaft (15,18) extends.
  10. Massage apparatus according to claim 9 characterized in that it includes a helix (13) mounted on the output shaft (5a) of the motor (5) upstream from the endless screw (11), the casing (1) being drilled, on the periphery of the orifice housing the motor shaft (15,18), with openings (14) for the passage of air stirred by the said helix.
  11. Massage apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the massage head has a hub (26) in which the bore (27) is provided and uniformly distributed arms (28) extending radially with respect to the axis of the said bore, each of the said arms carrying at least one massage device (30,31; 32, 33; 34).
  12. Massage apparatus according to claim 11, characterized in that the massage devices include, for each radial arm (28), spaced wheels (30,31) having a smooth tread and which are made of a rigid material, the said wheels being mounted freely in rotation about the said radial arm.
  13. Massage apparatus according to claim 11, characterized in that the massage devices include, for each radial arm (28), spaced wheels (32,33) having a tread provided with conical teeth and made of a flexible material, the said wheels being mounted freely in rotation about the said radial arm.
  14. Massage apparatus according to claim 11, characterized in that the massage devices include, for each radial arm (28), a roller (34) made of a foam material mounted freely in rotation about the said radial arm.
