Die Höhe der Handhabe 14 über dem Abdeckteil 3 ist so gewählt, daß der Teil 24 der Handhabe mit geringem Abstand über das Gehäuseoberteil 6 hinwegführbar ist, wie es aus den Fig. 4 und 5 ersichtlich ist. An der Oberseite des Abdeckteils 3 ist in der Nähe der ausladenden Kante des Teils 24 der Handhabe 14 ein Steg 31 vorgesehen, der den Spalt zwischen dem Teil 24 und der Oberseite des Abdeckteils 3 abdecken soll, damit in der in Fig. 1 wiedergegebenen Transportstellung keine Fremdkörper dazwischen geraten.The tongue 12, the slide 20, the neck 21 and the handle 14 form a unitary component 40, which is shown in FIGS. 6 to 8.   1. Cigarette filling machine (100),

  2. Cigarette filling machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the one element of the linear guide (27, 28) is formed in the base portion (2).

Cigarette filling machine according to claim 2, characterised in that the one element is formed by a guide web (27) upstanding from the base portion (2) and extending parallel to the compression chamber (8) and the other element is formed by a guide groove (28) in the slide (20) closely embracing the guide web (27).
  4. Cigarette filling machine according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the base portion (2) and the cover portion (3) are assembled together by a snap connection.
  5. Cigarette filling machine according to claim 3 or 4, characterised in that the guide web (27) is provided laterally of the compression chamber (8) on that side of it facing towards the extension (21).
  6. Cigarette filling machine according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that there is provided in the base portion (2) a supporting web (30) extending over a substantial part of the length of the compression chamber (8), and engaging from the base of the base portion against the underside of the trough-shaped tongue (12) for supporting the tongue (12) against the pressure in the compression chamber (8).
  7. Cigarette filling machine according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the handle (14) extends laterally alongside the housing (1, 6) over its entire height and can be engaged simultaneously from above and below between two fingers.
