Abstract

A valve controlled by the cistern water (Z2) opens and closes the drinking water feed (Z1) and is arranged in an upwardly open container provided with a throttle opening. The container is fitted in a toilet flushing cistern. A valve (V) controlled by the cistern water is formed as a counter-force-loaded piston valve (K). The counter-force (G) of the piston valve is adjustable using a positioning wheel (S). Beyond the valve a pressure flusher with separate feed conduits for cistern water and drinking water is connected.

Description

The toilet flushes used in the sanitary area are usually supplied by a connection to the general drinking water network.

However, due to increasing water price increases, other water resources are increasingly being used, such as cistern water (hereinafter referred to as process water).
Here, domestic water systems ensure the necessary transport of water from the water collection basin to the toilet.

A problem with the use of process water for flushing toilets is that there is not as much reliability as with the public drinking water supply; Especially in the case of a cistern supply, longer failures in summer can be expected.

A simple switch to drinking water in these times is problematic with today's toilet flushing with only one supply line and is generally prohibited on the part of the waterworks because residual water can contaminate the drinking water.

A cistern with two separate inlets was therefore described in German Offenlegungsschrift 28 08 656. However, this facility lacks the real switch from domestic water to drinking water; only a larger through-hole in the hot water supply causes a preferred filling of the toilet cistern with hot water. The disadvantages lie in the fact that tricewater is always supplied when the hot water supply is fully functional and that when the hot water supply fails, the filling of the toilet cistern with drinking water is significantly delayed compared to conventional toilet flushing.

German Offenlegungsschrift 42 32 581 discloses a collecting container for washing machine water with a regulated supply to the toilet box. This device requires considerable attention and responsibility on the part of the operator, since the operator must closely monitor the filling of the collecting container by inserting the sewage hose of the washing machine into different openings. The drinking water valve is opened or closed by means of a cord by a float in the collecting container. If this cord breaks, waste water can get into the drinking water supply line, a risk which, as already mentioned, is not accepted by the waterworks.

The invention has set itself the task of creating a toilet flushing device with automatic switching between two inlets, which meets the requirements of the waterworks purely mechanically, with little construction effort and not susceptible to faults.

The object is achieved by the features of the main claim.

For example, embodiments of the invention are shown schematically in the drawing.

The mode of operation of the toilet flushing device according to the invention, in which there is an automatic switchover to drinking water when the process water circuit fails, is described below.

(Fig.1 bis 4)
A valve V is installed in the service water line Z 2, the piston K of which is acted upon by the pressure of the service water against the spring force F or the weight force G. The spring force F can be varied by means of the adjusting wheel S, while the weight G arranged on a lever device H can also be shifted by means of the adjusting wheel S, so that the restoring force of the valve V can be finely adjusted. The piston rod KS can - as shown schematically - be designed as a slide, so that the drinking water line Z 1 is opened or closed depending on the position of the piston K. (Fig. 1 to 4)
The valve V is actuated by the water pressure in the service water line Z 2, which prevents the inflow of drinking water from the drinking water line Z 1, as shown by way of example in FIGS. 2 and 4.

The piston K of the valve V is moved by the spring F or the weight G against the water pressure in the service water line Z 2 when the water pressure in the service water line Z 2 drops such that the drinking water line Z 1 is opened in the absence of service water pressure.
The piston K is dimensioned wide enough so that there is a sufficiently large force to actuate the valve V. The spring force F or weight force G can be finely regulated with the adjusting wheel S in order to enable adaptation to the locally present water pressures of the two lines Z 1 and Z 2.

Hierzu wird die erfindungsgemäße Einrichtung den allgemein bekannten Druckspüleinrichtungen vorgeschaltet.1 to 4, the valve V is shown in the open and closed state. In addition to use in toilet cisterns T, this device can also be used with pressure flushing devices (not shown). For this purpose, the device according to the invention is connected upstream of the generally known pressure flushing devices.

The pressure flushing device must be designed so that when the flush button is pressed both lines Z1 and Z 2 are opened at the same time, but only one line Z 1 or Z 2 supplies water through the upstream device according to the invention.

As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, two float valve systems, for the drinking water control S 1 and for the industrial water control S 2, are arranged in a toilet cistern T such that when the water level drops, the industrial water float valve S 2 responds before the drinking water float valve S 1.
The inflowing process water prevents the float valve S 1 from sinking, which regulates the drinking water supply.

For this purpose, a portion of the toilet cistern T is separated by solid walls, so that a container B is created, but remains open at the top.
Within this container B is the float valve S 1, which opens and closes the drinking water line Z 1, while the float valve S 2 installed in the toilet cistern T 2 opens and closes the process water line Z 2.

When the float valve S 2 is open, the inflow from the service water line Z 2 into the container B, the throttle opening A of which allows the outflow of water into the non-separated part of the toilet cistern T.
This throttle opening A is dimensioned in such a way that more water flows in than flows out when the process water flows in.

Furthermore, the supply of the process water is regulated so that the float valve S 2 opens at a slightly higher water level than the drinking water float valve S 1.

If the toilet cistern T is full and is emptied by actuating the flush, two cases of refilling can be distinguished, namely:

1. Brauchwasser vorhanden1. Process water available

In this case, when the water level in the toilet cistern T drops, the water supply from the service water line Z 2, which flows into the container B, begins. This influx has the effect that a further drop in the water level does not occur in the container B, so that the drinking water supply does not start. The emptied toilet cistern T is filled with process water until the process water float valve S 2 switches off the supply. The process water reaches the toilet cistern T through both the overflow and the throttle opening A.

2. Brauchwasser nicht vorhanden2. Process water not available

When the water level in the toilet cistern T drops, the container B is also emptied via the throttle opening A, so that the drinking water float valve S 1 opens. The emptied toilet cistern T is now filled via the drinking water line Z 1, the incoming water entering the container B via the throttle opening A or through an overflow and closing the drinking water float valve S 1.
