Description
The invention relates to a control circuit for gas burners according to the preamble of claim 1. In a control circuit of this type known from EP-A 0 566 768, the gas burner has a pilot burner, a combustion air blower and a flow switch for monitoring the combustion air supply in order to ensure that the flow switch works properly , the excitation winding of a pilot burner valve is connected in series with a diode and the normally closed contact of the flow switch to an alternating current source and this series circuit is connected in parallel with a further series circuit consisting of a charging capacitor and a resistor. The normally open contact of the flow switch is connected in series with the field winding. After the charging capacitor has been sufficiently charged, it provides the current for energizing a relay, the normally open contact of which switches the blower on.
The present invention achieves a substantial improvement over EP-A 0 566 768 in that the charging time of the charging capacitor is shortened and thus the gas supply is switched on more quickly without impairing the automatic function check of the flow switch. The impedance of a fan is usually in the order of 50-100 Ω, while the excitation winding of a valve has a resistance of 2 kΩ or more. The fact that it is not the excitation winding, as in EP-A 0 566 768, but the low-resistance fan that keeps the negative half-wave of the AC voltage away from the charging capacitor, means that the capacitor charges up more quickly and supplies the threshold voltage required for switching the control electronics more quickly. The circuit can also be used for gas burners with a constantly burning pilot burner. These and other advantages result from the invention characterized in claim 1. Advantageous refinements and developments are described in the subclaims.
A 0 566 768.The invention is described below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing, with components already described in EP-A 0 566 768 are shown, the same reference numerals have been used. The circuit arrangement is equally intrinsically safe, like that according to EP-A 0 566 768.
A combustion air blower FA and an electromagnetically actuated ignition gas valve PV and a flow switch PS in the supply air duct are assigned to the gas burner (not shown in detail). An AC voltage, for example the AC mains voltage, is supplied to the circuit arrangement via the connection terminals L and N. The flow switch PS is provided with a changeover contact PC, which is present at the normally closed contact PNC when there is no combustion air flow and at the PNO work contact when the combustion air flow is correct. There is also a relay RY02, the changeover contact C2 of which is applied to the normally closed contact NC2 when the relay is de-energized and to the NO2 contact when the relay is energized. The combustion air blower FA is connected via the normally closed contact PNC of the flow switch PS as well as the diode D04 and a resistor R01 to the normally closed contact NC2 and thus to the AC line L. The series circuit of blower FA, flow switch break contact PNC and diode D04 is connected in parallel to a series circuit which comprises a resistor R05 and a charging capacitor C05. A series circuit consisting of the relay RY02 and an electronic switch Q02 is connected in parallel to this charging capacitor. The control electrode of the electronic switch Q02 is connected to the output A of control electronics CE (not shown in detail), which supplies a signal at that output A which is dependent on the state of charge of the charging capacitor C05. For this purpose, it is connected with its input E to the connection point of resistor R05 and charging capacitor C05 and can, for example, have a structure similar to that in EP-A 0 566 768 connected to the circuit arrangement connected to the components provided with the same reference numerals. Instead, the present invention can also be used in an ignition and safety circuit for gas burners, as described in EP-A 0 440 872.
The AC voltage terminal L can be connected via the normally open contact NO2 of the relay RY2 on the one hand to the blower FA and on the other hand to the changeover contact PC of the flow switch PS. The connection of the relay RY2 facing the input E of the control electronics CE is also connected to the normally open contact NO2 of the relay via a second resistor R02 and a second diode D01. The impedance of the fan FA is considerably lower than the impedance of the series circuit consisting of the resistors R01 and R05. The resistor R01 is connected from the connection point U1 of the diode D04 with the resistor R05 to the normally closed contact NC2 of the relay RY2.
The circuit arrangement shown in the drawing in the idle state works as follows: When the line L is connected to the mains AC voltage, the capacitor C05 is charged by the positive half-wave of the AC voltage via the resistors R01 and R05. The flow switch PS is initially properly in its rest position, i.e. If its PC contact is at the normally closed contact PNC, the capacitor is not discharged during the negative half-wave of the sine voltage, because the voltage at the series connection of the capacitor C05 with the resistor R05 via the diode D04, the normally closed contact PNC and the low-resistance fan FA are practically short-circuited is. The absolute value of the voltage at the connection point U1 during the negative half-wave is very low because of the low impedance of the fan FA in the voltage divider formed by this and the resistor R01. However, this only applies as long as the flow switch PS assumes the rest position shown in the drawing.
If the flow switch initially assumes its working position due to some fault and its PC contact is at the PNO working contact and the short circuit mentioned is thus interrupted, the positive and negative half-waves of the current to the capacitor C05 would be practically the same and the latter would not be charged positively. A positive voltage at capacitor C05 therefore only arises if the flow switch is initially properly in the rest position and its normally closed contact PNC is closed.
If the slowly building up voltage at the capacitor C05 exceeds a threshold value presented in the control electronics CE, the control electronics CE delivers a switch-on signal for the transistor Q2 at the output A. Capacitor C05 can discharge through relay RY2 and transistor Q02 and cause the relay to respond. Its contact C2 now switches to make contact NO2 and thus establishes a holding circuit for relay RY2, which is connected from terminal L via make contact C2 / NO2, diode D01, resistor R02, relay RY2 and transistor Q02 to ground N. leads. When the contact C2 is switched over, the fan FA receives current and begins to supply combustion air. As soon as the fan FA has run up and a sufficient combustion air flow has been reached, the flow switch PS switches over, see above that now his changeover contact PC is connected to the make contact PNO and the gas valve PV is energized. This opens the valve and the escaping gas can ignite at any ignition device.
