- the present invention relates to cylindrical sieves provided with an internal rotor and more particularly to sieves used in the pulp industry.

- the present invention relates to this type of rotor, but it differs completely from known rotors in that the rotor is no longer a cylinder but consists of one or more portions of cylindrical surface which, when developed in a plane are right triangles, both sides of which perpendiculars correspond respectively to a generatrix and to the base of the cylinder and whose hypotenuse is oblique.
- These cylindrico-triangular surfaces can be provided along their oblique side with protuberances which can be profiled.
- FIG. 1 represents four examples (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) of known rotors.
- 1a there is shown a cylindrical rotor which carries four fins: when these fins travel along the internal surface of the screen (not shown), they cause a slight overpressure at the front and a slight depression at the rear. This results in a pressure beat which has the effect of detaching the fibers which are plated across the orifices (holes or slots) of the screen and this as well when the screen is in centrifugal operation as centripetal.
- 1b and 1c a cylindrical rotor is shown, the surface of which is provided with protuberances: these protuberances produce turbulence and small variations in pressure.
- 1d there is shown a rotor consisting of two offset half-cylinders, which causes a sudden increase in pressure followed by a gradual decrease.
- the rotor 1 is not constituted by a regular cylindrical surface, the developed of which would be a rectangle but is constituted by a portion of cylindrical surface 2.
