Definitions
- the invention relates to an interface device for modifying the natural pressure distribution of a ski such as in particular an alpine ski on its sliding surface.
- the skis which are used for the practice of alpine skiing consist of boards relatively long, on which the skier's shoes are retained by front fasteners and back. Shoes and fasteners are approximately in the area ski median.
- the skis present in themselves, at rest, a natural camber, by which the middle zone is naturally raised from the front end of the ski, and the end back of the ski.
- the skis have flexibility, which is due to their internal structure. When skiing, the ski deforms elastically in response to different stresses to which it is subjected on the part of the skier, but also on the part of the terrain on which it slides.
- This device gives good results, however, it reacts to the variation of the support force of a part only of the shoe sole.
- An object of the invention is to improve this type of device by making it even more sensitive to variations in the support force of the boot sole on the ski.
- Another object of the invention is to propose an interface device whose dynamic action on the ski can be chosen depending on whether you want a more pivoting ski or a more guiding ski, that is to say more stable in driving.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a device which is simple to construct.
- the interface device comprises a first base intended to be secured to the ski, to proximity to a first fastening element, a second base intended to be secured to the ski at near a second fastening element, a first movable probe designed to support a end of the shoe sole and to capture variations in the bearing force exerted by the shoe. It is characterized by the fact that it has a second movable probe designed to support the second end of the shoe and to capture variations in the bearing force of this end and connecting means extending between the two probes and the bases provided for transmitting at said bases, the variations in the support forces picked up by the probes.
- connection means may have the effect of tackling towards the snow, or on the contrary of raising one or the other of the ends of the ski.
- Figure 1 shows a side view of a device according to a first non-limiting implementation of the invention.
- Figure 2 is a top view of the device of Figure 1.
- Figure 3 relates to an alternative embodiment of the invention.
- FIG. 1 represents a ski 1, seen from the side in its middle zone. Fasteners 3 and 4 are mounted on the ski in this middle zone.
- the fastening elements 3 and 4 are of any suitable type.
- the front fixing element 3 has in known manner a jaw 5 retaining the front end of the shoe.
- the jaw is carried by a body 6, and the body is itself mounted on a base plate 7 by which the element binding is assembled to the ski.
- the rear fixing element 4 has a jaw 8 carried by a body 9.
- the body 9 is slidably mounted along a base plate 10 shaped as a slide oriented along the longitudinal direction of the ski, under the action of a spring called a recoil spring which repels elastically the body forward.
- Each fixing element 3, 4 is also associated with a support plate 12, 13, on which the shoe sole rests, but these bearing plates will be described in more detail later.
- the device comprises a first movable probe designed to capture variations in the support force of the shoe on the ski.
- the probe is formed by the support plate 13 on which the rear end of the shoe sole rests.
- the support plate 13 forms the forward extension of the slide 10. It can be integrated into the slide or be reported.
- the support plate is movable in a substantially vertical direction.
- the slide 10 is in fact connected to the ski by means of a base 14 which is connected in solidarity with skiing.
- the slide is articulated at the base around a transverse and horizontal axis located in its rear part. In the example illustrated, this axis is fictitious, and it is materialized by the cooperation of tabs 15 located at the rear of the slide, which cooperate with housings complementary to the base 14. Any other suitable means is suitable.
- the housing of the slide 10 in the base 14 is slightly flared in a vertical direction, on the side of the front of the slide.
- the rear of the slide 10 is kept without play vertical in the base, at the legs 15.
- a block of elastically deformable material 17 maintains the front part of the raised slide in its housing of the base.
- Block 17 can have properties shock absorbing.
- a stop limits the upward travel of the slide.
- This stop is for example formed by two folds 19 of the lateral edges of the base 14.
- the slide 10 can oscillate in its housing of the base 14, under the action of forces vertical applied to the backing plate 13. Movements of the base plate downwards cause compression of block 17.
- the front support plate 12 forms a second probe intended to capture the variations in the support force that the front of the boot exerts on the ski.
- the front element 3 is connected to the ski by a plate 20, the front part of which is articulated around a axis 22 to a base 21 fixedly attached to the ski.
- the support plate 12 is located in the rear part of the plate 20.
- the plate 20 is kept raised relative to the upper surface of the ski by a block 25 of elastically deformable material.
- block 25 has properties depreciation.
- an abutment limits upwards the rotational movement of the plate 20.
- This abutment is for example formed by wings 26 secured to the ski and located in the rear part of the base 20, the end of which is folded over the base plate.
- the support plate 12 can oscillate in a vertical direction around the axis 22, depending support forces exerted by the front end of the shoe sole. Movements cause compression of block 25.
- Connection means also connect the two feelers 12 and 13 to the bases 14 and 21.
- the connecting means further comprise rods or rockers, or other means suitable whose arrangement depends on the desired effect on the flexion of the ski.
- connection means comprise for the fastening element before a link 30 which is hingedly connected to the rear part of the plate 20 and a bearing 31 secured to the ski.
- the vertical retaining wings 26 discussed previously can be integrally connected to the bearing 31.
- the articulation axis between the link and the plate is shown diagrammatically at 32 and that with the bearing 31 is shown schematically at 33.
- the axis 33 is located lower in relation to the ski than the axis 22 articulation between the plate 20 and the base 21.
- the bearing 31 is located in front of the rear part of the plate 20, therefore, the rod 30 is inclined from front to back and from bottom to top.
- the rod 30 holds the rear end of the plate 20 suspended above from the surface superior of the ski, in cooperation with block 25.
- the connecting means further comprise a link 35 towards the rear.
- This link is articulated in its lower part to the base 14 or to an element integral with the ski, around an axis 36.
- the upper part of the link 35 is articulated around an axis 37 to a push bar 38 which extends forward, and whose front end is connected to the axis 32 of articulation between the rod 30 and plate 20.
- the rear link 35 is tilted from front to back and from top to bottom.
- the probe 13 is in simple support on the link 35, at its articulation with the bar thrust 38.
- a downward stress exerted on the probe 13 is transformed by the link 35 into a horizontal force directed forward and transmitted to the front structure by the push bar 38.
- Such a force has the opposite effect of the stress described above, that is to say that it induces a bending moment which tends to press the front end of the ski against the snow.
- Force reaction horizontal transmitted by the push bar is taken up by the rear base 14, at the axis 36. This reaction tends to press the rear end of the ski against the snow.
- the deformation of the front structure also has an influence on the push bar 38 and tends to push back the push bar, and the link 35.
- the push bar moving back, tends to raise the probe 13.
- this movement is hindered or authorized.
- the stop 19 is released above the slide 10 to allow the slide to go back in this circumstance.
- an elastic pad is interposed between the slide 10 and the stop 19 for damping the recoil of the bar 38.
- the embodiment which has just been described has two different effects on skiing according to that the probe 12 or 13 which is stressed by the shoe, that is to say actually depending on whether the skier does carry your weight on the front or back of the ski.
- a wedge 40 is positioned on the ski between the front and rear feelers 12 and 13. This wedge is intended to support the central area of the shoe sole. It presents a central recess of appropriate dimensions for the passage of the push bar.
- This wedge 40 can be adjustable in height. She may be also placed closer to one probe than the other.
- FIG. 3 shows an alternative embodiment.
- the front structure is of same type as in the previous case, with the plate 20 connected to the ski by the base 21 on one side, the rod 30 and the bearing 31 on the other.
- the previous link 35 is replaced by a rocker 42 pivotally mounted about a transverse axis 43 which is carried by the lateral wings of the base 44 of the rear fixing element.
- the rocker has a branch towards the rear approximately horizontal 45 which is engaged under the slide 10, at the level of the probe 13.
- the rocker Under the level of the axis 43, the rocker has a second transverse articulation axis 47 for a bar thrust 48 similar to the previous one, the other end of which is connected to the hinge pin 32 which connects it to the link 30.
- the boot is supported on the ski by two suspended supports which capture the support force that the shoe exerts on each of them. Variations in the bearing force exerted by the shoe on one either of these supports are transmitted to the ski where they induce a dynamic effect on the flexion of the ski.
- connection between the feelers and the bases attached to the ski is determined according to the effect pivoting or guiding that we wish to induce in the ski under the action of a variation of the support of the front or back of the shoe.
- rocker 42 could be replaced by a rocker 42 or other suitable means.
- the invention is not limited to the embodiments which have been described.
- the effects on the ski exerted by the variations of support on the front and rear feelers can be different, and in particular reversed by an inverse inclination of the rods 30 and 35, or else by an inversion of the axes 43 and 47 of the rocker.
- the effects on the bending of the ski mainly manifest at the front end of the ski. This is also not limiting, and we might as well exert these effects more directly on the rear end.
