  2. A plinth cover holder for fixing a plinth cover to a portion of an article of furniture, including a slide portion (2) which can be fixed to the underside of the article of furniture, having a receiving socket (4) for receiving a furniture leg which is adjustable in height and a cover clip (3a) mounted releasably on the furniture leg for holding a plinth cover (12) characterised in that the cover clip (3a), in the region of the plinth cover (12), carries at least one retaining tongue/retaining projection (19, 20) which is in the form of a resilient arm and in the pre-assembly condition projects approximately at an acute angle from the surface of the plinth cover (12) while in the final assembly condition it is approximately parallel to the surface of the plinth cover (12) and in the final assembly condition the retaining projection/retaining tongue (19, 20) retainingly fixes the plinth cover (12) after displacement has been effected in respect of height in the course of adjustment.
  3. A plinth cover holder according to claim 1 characterised in that the rib (9) is in the form of a circular arc and is disposed concentrically with respect to the receiving socket (4).
  4. A plinth cover holder according to claim 1 or claim 3 characterised in that the rib (9) is the front termination of a groove (13) in the slide portion (2) and that a limb (8) of the clamping web (6) of the cover clip (3) positively lockingly engages into said groove (13).
  5. A plinth cover holder according to claim 1 characterised in that the rib (9) projects beyond the lower boundary plane of the slide portion (2).
  6. A plinth cover holder according to one or more of claims 1 and 3 to 5 characterised in that the rib (9) is arranged in the region of a sector around the receiving socket (4).
  7. A plinth cover holder according to one or more of claims 1 and 3 to 5 characterised in that the rib (9) extends entirely around the receiving socket (4).
  8. A plinth cover holder according to one or more of claims 1 and 3 to 7 characterised in that at least one of the limbs (7, 8) of the clamping web (6) is provided on its inside with a tooth arrangement (10) and the rib (9) is also provided with teeth (11).
  9. A plinth cover holder according to claim 2 characterised in that the retaining tongue/retaining projection (19, 19a, 20) is formed on the cover clip (3a).
  10. A plinth cover holder according to claim 2 or claim 9 characterised in that the retaining tongue/retaining projection (19, 20) is a separate member which is secured to the plinth cover (12).
  11. A plinth cover holder according to one or more of claims 2, 9 and 10 characterised in that the retaining tongue/retaining projection (19, 20) is fixed by retaining means (21) which are disposed at the periphery on the base portion (2).
  12. A plinth cover holder according to claim 11 characterised in that the retaining means (21) on the base portion (2) comprise raised portions, recessed portions, teeth, ribs or grooves on the base portion (2) which extend entirely or partially therearound and which extend over a relatively large region.
  13. A plinth cover holder according to one or more of claims 2 and 9 to 12 characterised in that the base portion (2) is of an entirely or partially rectangular, hexagonal, round or curved cross-section.
