Description
The present invention relates to a switch intended to be used as a circuit breaker as well than a medium voltage electric switch.
We know a switch-disconnector as described in document US 5 168 139 which comprises on the one hand, a vacuum switch tube mainly comprising a housing insulating tubular closed by two caps of conductive ends crossed by two axes of coaxially opposite contacts having front contact faces, and on the other hand, two breaking contacts, of the leaf type, one of the breaking contacts being mounted in parallel with the vacuum switch tube, while the other cut-off contact is mounted in series with the parallel circuit thus formed. In operation, when the switch is closed, and the two cut-off contacts in a stable closed position, the vacuum switch is kept open during operation of the switch. When opening the switch-disconnector, the contacts of the vacuum switch are first closed, then the parallel-mounted breaking contact is open, then the switch contact at vacuum is opened, and finally the second contact arranged in series is open.
However, this device requires two separate switch control systems, hence it results in that its size is particularly large.
We also know a multi-pole rotary switch as described in the document FR2,668,851 (closest state of the art), and which consists mainly of a sealed revolution envelope, filled with a gas with high dielectric strength, the inner periphery of which carries, by pole, a fixed input contact, a fixed output contact and a fixed earthing contact. These contacts are angularly spaced and cooperate with a contact-shaped bridge swivel knife carried by a rotary control shaft extending in the axis of the envelope. In this realization which does not use the technique of vacuum cutting, the aforementioned tree can selectively occupy three positions, namely, a position opening, closing position, and grounding position.
The present invention solves the problem of creating a switch and a circuit breaker using the vacuum breaking technique which is simple in design and reduced dimensions.

The operation of the circuit breaker described in Figures 1 to 7 will be explained in what follows with reference to Figures 1 to 8.
6, 7.In FIG. 1, the circuit breaker D is in the closed position, the contacts between the first
fixed and
l'ampoule à vide 5.In this position of the conductive bridge P, the first fixed and
ouverte. In FIG. 3, it can be seen that after an additional rotation of the
In Figure 5, after a rotation of about three quarters of a turn of the
The relative positions of the different contacts, as described above are
particularly illustrated in FIG. 8 in which is represented in (1), the state of the

We will now briefly describe the operation of an embodiment of the
the invention, with reference to Figures 9 to 15. This operation is similar to that of

performed by rotation of the
In FIG. 9, the switch I is in the fully closed position, the first and
le circuit électrique aval relié à la borne B se trouve relié à la terre T. In FIG. 11, it can be seen that an additional rotation of the
En se reportant à la figure 15, on notera que l'état des contacts pendant les étapes d'ouverture de l'interrupteur correspond exactement à celui du disjoncteur D.Referring to FIG. 15, it will be noted that the state of the contacts during the steps the opening of the switch corresponds exactly to that of circuit breaker D.
nouveau, rappelés automatiquement en position d'ouverture par le ressort 14.In FIG. 12, after a rotation of the
seconds contacts fixe et mobile 2, 4.It will be observed that the operation of the switch I, during closing, is the same
than that of circuit breaker D, except that in the case of the switch, the first
fixed and
l'interrupteur I.The operation of the second embodiment of the switch I of
the invention, with reference to FIGS. 16 to 20 and to the operating diagram of the
Figure 15 in which is represented in (1) the state of the
position d'ouverture par le ressort 14.In FIG. 16, the switch I is in the closed position, the first and
In FIG. 17, a rotation of the
In figure 19, all the contacts are open, which brings the switch I in position opened. Figure 20 illustrates the next step in grounding. The functioning of the switch I during closing being the same as that of the first embodiment described, these closing steps will not be described.
Finally, we will briefly describe the different stages of opening the circuit breaker D in accordance with
the embodiment described in Figures 21 to 21c below. In figure 21 the circuit breaker D is in
closed position, its fixed and movable contacts being closed. In Figure 2 la, the
Thanks to the invention, a circuit breaker and a switch of simple design have therefore been produced. and of reduced size, on the one hand that the various commands are carried out by the same control member, and secondly, that the structure of the switch allows the use of a small vacuum interrupter, because the length of time it holds the steady current is very short.
