Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a ski boot made of plastic essentially comprising a shell surrounding the foot and the heel, a shaped rod of articulated collar relative to the shell, means tightening the collar around the leg and a frame rigid attached to the collar and intended to ensure a good transfer of leg movements when skiing.
  • a ski boot comprising a frame made of a rigid jumper in the shape of openwork gutter extending along the back of the necklace, locks on the collar and presenting two lateral branches by which the rider is articulated on the hull with the collar.
  • Document FR-A-2 653 310 of the applicant describes a ski boot with rear entry, that is to say the upper consists of a front cuff and a cuff rear both hinged on the hull, comprising two rigid jumpers articulated on the hull, on each side of the shoe, on the sole or at the points of articulation of the cuffs, and extending along the cuffs, on each side of the shoe.
  • the object of the present invention is to produce a shoe with armature overcoming these drawbacks.
  • the ski boot according to the invention is characterized in that the frame is asymmetrical relative to the plane at least approximately vertical containing the axis of the collar and extending from the heel to the front end of the shoe, that it extends along the back of the necklace and, in its upper part, mainly on the inner side of the shoe.
  • Such a shoe has a differentiated stiffness on the inside and outside, the rigidity of the inner side being greater than the stiffness on the side outside.
  • Such a shoe ensures perfect control skis when taking a correct edge on the inner side of the ski, but allows, due to the relative flexibility on the outside of the shoe, to make up for an edge fault, i.e. a catch edge on the outside of the ski.
  • Known reinforcements also have the effect of increasing the overall width of the shoe, in particular on the inside of the shoe. Such an increase the width of the shoes can cause shoes to touch each other during a turn, which can also cause a fall.
  • the armature of the shoe according to the invention preferably extends into back of the hinge points of the collar so not to increase the overall width of the shoe.
  • the frame therefore does not hinder movement relative shoes when changing direction, nor to stumble against slalom poles.
  • the ski boot shown in Figure 1 is made up a plastic shell 1 surrounding the foot and heel and a stem 2 in the form of a necklace articulated on the shell 1, on each side thereof, at level of the malleolus, by means of two rivets such as the rivet 3.
  • the shell 1, of variable volume, and the collar 2 are equipped with at least one closure loop and tightening such as the loop 6 which we see the denture in the drawing.
  • the collar 2 is provided with an outer frame 4 made of metal or hard plastic, which has an ascending part 41 extending along the back of the collar 2, slightly curved towards the inner side of the shoe and fixed on this side inside of the shoe, in its lower part by a lug 42 fixed to the collar 2 by means of a rivet 5 and, in its upper part, by a lug 43 adjoining the upper edge of the collar 2.
  • the lug 43 is fixed for example by collage.
  • the frame 4 is further extended upwards by a tongue 44 serving as rear support for the leg.
  • the frame 4 is therefore asymmetrical relative to the at least approximately vertical plane containing the axis a of the collar 2 and extending from the heel to the front end of the shoe.
  • the presence and the shape of the frame 4 ensure a good transmission of lateral forces from the leg to the lug 43 in the direction of the articulation 3 of the collar 2 on the shell, i.e. towards the sole of the shoe.
  • the outer side of the shoe which is the hidden side in the drawing, is free of reinforcement and keeps thus some flexibility.
  • the frame can be used to support the strap with which this type of shoe is generally fitted the upper part of the collar to hold the liner interior in front support.
  • the frame can also support a closing loop and tightening the collar.
  • This reinforcement is of uniform thickness and it is made up of two rigid materials A and B different.
  • Material A is relatively rigid. It consists for example of polyurethane charged with glass fibers or a composite material based on glass fiber or carbon fiber or KEVLAR (registered trademark), these fibers being loaded with resin, preferably epoxy resin, or polyamide 11, possibly loaded with glass fibers.
  • the material B is relatively flexible and is made up for example polyurethane or PEBAX (brand filed).
  • the rigid material A extends throughout the reinforcement except for a marginal area 80 made exclusively of flexible material B.
  • the frame has areas 81, 82, 83, 84, 85 in which rigid material A occupies the entire thickness frame uniform. Area 81 extends into the tongue 74. Zones 82, 83, 84 and 85 provide controlled rigidity for the transmission of support lateral. Outside these zones 81 to 85, the rigid material A has a substantially smaller thickness, for example example equal to about half the total thickness of the armature and extends into the middle area of this thickness, as shown in Figure 5. From each side of this middle wall, the difference thickness is compensated by the flexible material B.
  • the frame 70 has a hole 8 in the tongue 74 for the passage of a fixing rivet to the collar and primers for holes 9 and 10 in the internal face of the lower part for fixing this part to the collar by means of rivets. Holes 9 and 10 are provided in a part of the reinforcement made up only flexible material B. In competition shoes the rivets could also pass through the hull so as to ensure even better transmission leg efforts when skiing. If the frame is attached by gluing the holes 9 and 10 are not perforated. In the example shown, the armature also has a hole 11 for access to an adjustment device.
  • the frame 70 can be produced by overmolding or by the bi-injection process.
  • the frame 70 'shown in Figures 6 and 7 does not not externally distinguishable from frame 70. It differs only in the fact that in areas where the rigid material A occupies only part of the thickness of the reinforcement, the rigid material A forms the interior wall of the reinforcement, while the flexible material B forms the outer wall of the frame.
