Abstract

An electrical contact element is produced as a metal pressing (10) that has a section formed with a 'U'-shape (11,13). The end section (14) projects from the spring arm and deflects to securely grip the exposed tip of an inserted wire (15). The centre of the 'U'-shaped contact element is cut away (19) and allows a second wire to be inserted. The insulation of the wire is penetrated to engage the wire core. A number of variations are possible.

Description

The invention relates to an electrical Contact for the connection of at least two conductors the preamble of claim 1.

Ein solcher Kontakt ist aus GB-A-1 243 938 bekannt.Such a contact is known from GB-A-1 243 938.

'Schneidklemmkontakte').For connecting electrical conductors to devices, components od. Like. Are in addition to contacts for soldering and Screw connections of the conductors primarily those in use, where the stripped ends of the conductors are in one Clamping area electrically and mechanically connected are (so-called 'screwless terminals') or insulated Conductor to be pressed between cutting edges penetrate their insulation sheath and on this Establish electrical contact (so-called 'Insulation displacement contacts').

There are also known contacts that have two conductor connection areas, one correspondingly the insulation displacement technology is designed while the other is designed as a screwless terminal is. Examples of this can be found in DE 27 20 418 C2, DE 27 43 242, and US 4,212,509. This Known contacts are used to connect two conductors with each other and basically represent connectors, the conductor connection area designed using insulation displacement technology mainly the machine assembly serves with conductors, while conductors with stripped conductor ends if necessary also connected manually to the contacts can be. That is why the well-known components also the principle in common that the insulation displacement connections when assembling the connector be made that the contacts in an insulating housing be used and thereby, i.e. With their insert movement, the insulation displacement connection with the ladders. After the completion of the concerned The connector is therefore a conductor connection no longer possible using insulation displacement technology.

The invention has for its object a electrical contact in the preamble of claim 1 as a known type for wire connectors in cleverly for a special suitability as a terminal contact training for electrical devices.

Die mit der Erfindung einhergehende neuartige Kontaktverwendung ist Gegenstand des nebengeordneten Anspruchs 8.This object is achieved according to the invention is specified in claim 1. The one with the invention associated new use of contacts is the subject of the independent claim 8.

The invention thus creates a terminal contact for electrical devices, e.g. Lamp and starter sockets, Ballasts, distribution terminals or Like., the alternative or cumulative connection of conductors in the two different connection technologies allowed.

This makes it possible to have devices available places, the type of conductor connection up to the last of the free The choice of the user is left. Without this already can be taken into account when ordering for example, the luminaire manufacturer uses automatic devices Devices in insulation displacement technology with connection conductors equip or, if its facilities are not suitable for this Manually or with manipulators the screwless terminal areas respectively. The contacts accordingly device manufacturers using the invention again, there is no need for a specific one from the start Connection technology to consider and no different Devices available, since a device with the invention Contact both connection options has ready.

In addition, the invention offers a serious one Advantage over only the insulation displacement technology executed conductor connections, the inside exists that in addition to these or alternatively Wiring can be carried out using clamping technology can. The user who usually doesn't have skills or facilities, an insulation displacement connection in the event of damage, observing the safety regulations repair (if the IDC area on the finished device at all is accessible), can now be the defective or defective Conductor after stripping its free end to easy connection to the secondary available Prepare screwless connection clamp and accordingly use, in the immediate vicinity and assignment to the connection to be replaced. In other cases can the connection area of the screwless clamping technology about also be used for other connections or taps using additional conductors.

Further advantageous and expedient refinements and developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims. Otherwise, the invention will be particularly clear from its description below with reference to several exemplary embodiments shown in the drawings. Show it:

Each contact has a base section 10 at one end an approximately 90 ° angled section 11 connects, via a further bend 12 passes from at least about 180 ° into a section 13, at its free end a back to the base section 10 pointing, with the section 13 springy Clamp leg 14 is arranged.

The base section 10 is used in practice of the contact in a connection terminal, a lamp holder or the like. Usually part of a connection for a consumer or an electrical one Component such as lamp, starter, choke, capacitor or the like. So you could instead of the free edge of the base section about one by further deformations such as bends and bends following it Introduce lamp contact.

19,20 vorgesehen. Each contact has at least one area the so-called 'first conductor connection area', in which a Head 18 by means of insulation displacement technology known per se can be connected to the contact. For this, see section 11, the insulation displacement section, or both in this as well as additionally in the bent section 13, a spring section of the contact, which then has another forms a parallel insulation displacement section for bending 12 open incisions 19, 19 and 19, 20 are provided.

The incisions 19 have a small edge spacing to cut through the insulation of the conductors 18 when inserted into the incisions. The incisions 20, on the other hand, are so far that the ladder lies freely here can without impairing their insulation becomes.

Insoweit stellt der Kontakt also in diesem sog. Each clamping leg 14 forms together with the base section 10 against which he is biased and on the he is oriented, a clamp for mechanical and electrical connection of the stripped End 15 of a conductor 16. To insert the stripped Head end 15 is in the transition area between the contact legs 10 and 11 have a conductor push-through opening 17 provided. In this respect, the contact provides one in this so-called 'second conductor connection area' known screwless connector.

Are, as for example in the embodiments 2 and 12, the incisions 19 in the two contact legs 11 and 13 with only Insulations are provided with a very narrow gap distance the corresponding conductor 18 within both Legs 11 and 13 each cut, creating a particularly safe contact as well as mechanical hold comes about. However, since the conductor 16 in this way clamped one behind the other in the two legs 11 and 13 such a contact is suitable when assembling conductors using this type of double insulation displacement technology not so much about adding another leader 16 with its stripped end 15 additionally between the free clamping leg 14 and the base section 10 pinch.

Dies zeigen insbesondere die Fig. 10 und 20.To conductors by means of insulation displacement technology as well also connect to the contact at the same time using clamping technology To be able to, versions are provided at which the incisions 20 in the freely resilient leg 13 are so far that the spring leg 13 relative to the conductor held clamped in the insulation displacement gap 19 can still spring, so that in these versions both connection techniques are carried out simultaneously can. This is shown in particular in FIGS. 10 and 20.

While in the embodiments according to FIG. 1 to 20 the clamping zones 14, 10 and the insulation displacement zones 19 are arranged vertically one above the other in the embodiment according to FIGS. 21 to 26 the peculiarity that the zone of insulation displacement laterally offset, here in the middle between the spring sections 13 second clamping areas arranged are. In this way, the free suspension option the contact leg 13 is also given when between them a conductor 18 using insulation displacement technology is connected to the contact. In any case but the conductors 16, 18 are parallel to one another and can on the contact or on one provided with it Run the device from the same side.

All versions have in common that every contact altogether only from a single metal strip (usually made of feather bronze), which makes it yourself from two-part or multi-part composite contacts otherwise known design continues to differ.
