Definitions

  • the present invention relates to hair clips, in particular used for female hairstyle.
  • Known hair clips as described in particular in documents FR-A-770 805, FR-A-755 662 or US-A-2 201 719, generally comprise a first jaw actuated by a first opening lever to which it is secured according to a first intermediate connection zone, and a second jaw actuable by a second opening lever to which it is secured by a second intermediate connection zone.
  • Articulation means connect the first and the second intermediate connection zones, to allow the respective pivoting of the first jaw and of the second jaw relative to each other about a transverse articulation axis between a spaced position and a tight position.
  • Elastic means pivotally bias the first and second jaws relative to each other towards their tight position.
  • the elastic means comprise a spring constituted by a helical elastic metal wire wound around the transverse articulation axis.
  • a first end of the metal wire extends radially away from the axis and comes to bear on the internal face of the first opening lever.
  • the second end of the metal wire extends radially away from the axis and comes to bear on the internal face of the second opening lever.
  • the spring is prestressed in rotation around the axis, so that its two protruding ends urge the opening levers away from each other, thus pushing the jaws towards their tight position.
  • a first drawback of such a structure is that it requires the use of a metal wire formed as a helical spring with contiguous turns.
  • the contiguous turns constitute a plurality of small slots or housings in which water and other liquid products can stagnate. During long-term use, the metal wire is thus liable to be corroded by humidity and the various products used in hairdressing.
  • a second drawback of such a structure is that the spring is necessarily prestressed in the clamped position, so as to present a sufficient force for clamping the clamp, from the separated position. It can then occur, during heat treatments of the clamp during finishing, that the spring ends penetrate into the arms of plastic, and deform them, if the plastic is sufficiently softened by heat. The subsequent operation of the clamp is then defective.
  • Another known structure of a hair clip comprises articulation means with engaging male and female parts, and particular spring parts molded with a general U-shaped profile with longitudinal branches and hooking parts.
  • the production and assembly of molded spring parts of particular shapes increases the production cost.
  • the problem proposed by the present invention is to eliminate the use of such elastic means consisting of a helical wire spring which may be apparent on the rear face of the clamp, so as to avoid the drawbacks of these known structures.
  • pliers It is sought to produce a clamp whose apparent face has a satisfactory aesthetic appearance, the various parts of the clamp can be decorated, while retaining a satisfactory clamping function of the jaws of the clamp.
  • clamp structure according to the invention must be able to be produced at low cost, and must in particular be assembled quickly and simply.
  • the hair clip structure according to the invention comprises, in a known manner, a first jaw and a second jaw articulated to each other and actuated by opening levers, with articulation means allowing their pivoting between the separated and tight positions, and with elastic means which urge them towards the tight position.
  • the pliers according to the invention comprises articulation means and specific elastic means.
  • the articulation means comprise a first and a second perforated lugs projecting respectively from the first and from the second intermediate connection zone and close to one another transversely along the articulation axis, a third and a fourth perforated pins projecting respectively from the first and second intermediate connection zones and in proximity to one another transversely along the axis of articulation while being transversely spaced from the first two perforated pins, and a connecting connecting shaft the perforations of the four perforated pins to connect the two jaws.
  • the elastic means comprise two identical elastic rings open in flat section, arranged around the axis of rotation and coaxially with one another along a transverse axis parallel to the axis of rotation. Their two respective ends come to bear in corresponding housings formed on the external face of the intermediate connection zones of the jaws in front of the articulation axis. Their intermediate parts pass through corresponding openings made in the opening levers, and come to surround the two groups of lugs perforated between said levers.
  • the two elastic rings cover the perforated articulation lugs on the rear face of the clamp. Looking at the clamp from the rear side, we can see the two elastic rings, as well as the connecting shaft. In themselves, these elements have a much more pleasant appearance than the helical wire spring with protruding ends which was visible on the clamps used until then.
  • the elastic rings advantageously have a profile with regular curvature in C and, in the tightened position, the profile with regular curvature in C is substantially circular.
  • the elastic rings have a width equal to or greater than the width of the groups of perforated lugs, in order to completely obscure the perforated lugs in the area of apparent articulation between the two clamp levers.
  • tubular element engaged on the connecting shaft and connecting the two groups of respective perforated pins, to conceal the connecting shaft in the area of apparent articulation between the two levers.
  • the tubular element can itself be decorated, and, by its larger section, constitutes by itself a decorative element which appreciably improves the appearance of the clamp.
  • a hair clip according to the invention comprises a first jaw 1 which can be actuated by a first opening lever 2 to which it is secured according to a first intermediate connection zone 3, and a second jaw 4 which can be actuated by a second opening lever 5 to which it is secured by a second intermediate connection zone 6.
  • Hinge means 7 connect the first intermediate connecting zone 3 and the second intermediate connecting zone 6, to allow the respective jaws 1 and 1 to have the respective jaws 4 pivoted relative to one another around a transverse articulation axis 8 between a separated position shown in FIG. 6 and a tight position shown in FIG. 5.
  • Elastic means pivotally bias the first jaw 1 and the second jaw 4 relative to each other towards their tight position.
  • the articulation means comprise a first perforated lug 9 and a second perforated lug 10 protruding respectively from the first intermediate connection zone 3 and from the second intermediate connection zone 6.
  • the first 9 and the second 10 perforated lugs are placed close to each other, side by side transversely along the hinge axis 8 as illustrated in FIG. 4.
  • a third perforated lug 11 and a fourth perforated lug 12 project respectively from the first intermediate connection zone 3 and from the second intermediate connection zone 6, and are placed close to each other side by side transversely. along the axis of articulation 8, while being transversely spaced from the first two perforated pins 9 and 10 according to a spacing E suitable for ensuring sufficient stabilization of the articulation.
  • the elastic means comprise two elastic rings 13 and 14 open, arranged around the axis of rotation and coaxially with one another along a transverse axis parallel to the axis of rotation 8.
  • the respective ends such as the ends 15 , 16 and 17 of the elastic rings 13 and 14 come to bear in corresponding housings such as the housings 18 and 19 formed on the external face of the intermediate connection zones 3 and 6 of the jaws, in front of the articulation axis 8 .
  • the intermediate parts 20 and 21 of the elastic rings 13 and 14 pass through corresponding slots 22, 23, 24, and 25 formed in the opening levers 2 and 5, and come to surround the two groups of perforated lugs 9-12, between said levers 2 and 5.
  • the elastic rings 13 and 14 advantageously have a flat section, for example the rectangular section, and their width is greater than the width of each of the groups of perforated lugs 9-12, to conceal fully the pins perforated in the area of visible articulation between the two levers 2 and 5, as illustrated in FIG. 3.
  • the elastic rings 13 and 14 can be made of metal, or any other material having the desired elastic properties to obtain the necessary clamping force of the jaws 1 and 4 of the clamp.
  • the articulation is completed by a connecting shaft 26, which crosses the respective perforations of the four perforated pins 9-12 to connect the two jaws.
  • the shaft 26 defines the hinge axis 8, and it is visible in Figure 4.
  • the shaft 26 is necessarily of smaller diameter than the size of the perforated lugs 9-12. There therefore remains a space between the two intermediate connecting zones 3 and 6, in particular in the spacing zone E situated between the two groups of perforated lugs 9, 10 and 11, 12.
  • the aesthetic appearance of the pliers is substantially improved, in its posterior region, by providing a tubular element 27, engaged on the connecting shaft 26, and connecting the two groups of perforated lugs 9, 10 and 11, 12 , to conceal the connecting shaft 26 in the apparent area of articulation of spacing E between the two levers 2 and 5.
  • the tubular element 27 can advantageously be a decorated element, for example of a color different from that of levers 2 and 5, in particular of the same shade as the elastic rings 13 and 14.
  • the elastic rings 13 and 14 have a small thickness, making them not very visible on their side, as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6.
  • the intermediate parts 20 and 21 of the elastic rings 13 and 14 come close to the respective groups of perforated lugs 9, 10 and 11, 12, so that the perforated lugs 9-12 are as invisible as possible.
  • the elastic rings 13 and 14 have a side view of a profile with regular curvature at C: in the clamped position in FIG. 5, the profile is substantially circular; in the separated position in FIG. 6, the profile is in the form of an open C.
  • the elastic rings 13 and 14 are supported in the corresponding housings 18, 19 according to a weak prestressing force when the clamp is in the clamped position. Thanks to the ring shape of the elastic rings 13 and 14, even when the prestressing force is low in the tight position, the elastic rings 13 and 14 produce a sufficient elastic restoring force when the clamp is in the separated position. Such an effect was not obtained with traditional coil springs.
  • the jaws 1 and 4 of a clamp according to the invention can have various shapes. The same applies to levers 2 and 5.
  • FIG 1 there is shown a clamp according to the invention with jaws 1 and 4 having a general crescent moon shape, developing transversely, that is to say parallel to the axis of rotation 8
  • the front lips 28 and 29 of the jaws 1 and 4 come to bear against one another along their length.
  • a series of teeth 30 can be provided which overlap one another in the vicinity of the front lips 28 and 29.
  • the jaws 1 and 4 form a generally flat and wide clamp.
  • the jaws 1 and 4 form two series of parallel teeth such as the teeth 31, curved towards one another and coming to overlap in the clamped position.
  • the longitudinal profile of the teeth 31 can in particular be substantially circular, as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6.
  • the ends 32 and 33 of the teeth are separated from one of the 'other, to allow the introduction into the hair.
  • the ends 32 and 33 of the two sets of teeth come opposite one another, then cross when the clamp comes in the clamped position.
  • Levers 2 and 5 can take various forms, for example a crescent moon shape as illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, or a more rectangular shape as illustrated in FIG. 1, with decorative openings, with a worked contour, or with a decoration applied on their posterior face.
