Definitions
- the invention relates to a floor fastening mat made of elastic material with a plate-shaped mat body, a plurality of projections formed on one side of the mat body with uniform distances from one another and with cup-like depressions formed on the other side.
- Such floor mounting mats are used to make floor surfaces outdoors stable or drivable, as previously known from EP-A-0 210 285 and in particular as a so-called riding mat for mounting riding arenas. If the mat with the projections arranged on one side is placed on a coarse surface, in particular gravel, the position of the mat is secured against slipping away.
- the cup-like depressions on the top collect water and thereby prevent a quick drying out of a covering layer overlying the mat, which on riding arenas, for example, consists of an approximately 15 cm thick layer e.g. consists of sand and chips and thereby dampens the development of dust.
- the invention is based on the object of adapting a floor fastening mat of the type mentioned at the outset to the special needs on surfaces entered by horses, in particular to ensure that the horses are sure-footed.
- the floor mounting mat should also be Paddok mat for attaching lawn areas serving the horse runout or for attaching the jump and jump areas of obstacles when jumping, as well as generally for attaching the ground to lawn sports fields.
- projections are also arranged on the side of the mat body having the cup-like depressions, which have two different heights with respect to the surface of the mat body and are arranged in such a way that a higher alternation with one lower lead follows.
- a preferred embodiment is that the projections on one side are designed as support feet that have a greater height than the projections on the other side, which are designed as nub-like elevations. This results in a better elasticity of the mat, above all, by the part of the mat body located between the support feet, which can lower under load, which gives the animals the feeling of walking on an elastic, springy forest floor.
- Another expedient embodiment consists in that the support feet on one side of the mat body are each assigned a cup-like depression on the other side.
- nub-like elevations are arranged between these depressions on the surface of the mat body, which elevations extend up to a first plane parallel to the upper side of the mat body and that centrally in the wells too knob-like elevations are arranged, which extend up to a second, parallel to this, running between the top of the mat body and the first plane to this plane.
- the load is transmitted primarily to the higher elevations arranged between the depressions and thus to the area of the mat body which is not directly supported between the support feet, which is why an increased elastic effect can be determined in the immediate tread area.
- the elevations arranged in the depressions additionally reduce the risk of slipping.
- the support feet have a cup-like cavity opening in the direction facing away from the mat body, whereby the elasticity and the stackability is improved, in particular if, according to a further preferred embodiment, the depressions are designed in such a way that when they are stacked Mats are suitable for receiving the free end of the support feet, the elevation arranged in the recess preferably engaging in the mouth of the cavity of the foot that engages in the recess.
- the support feet preferably have the shape of truncated cones.
- the cavity can be designed in the shape of a truncated cone in such a way that it opens in a funnel shape, as a result of which the thickness of the annular wall of the support feet decreases with increasing distance from the mat body.
- a further expedient embodiment consists in that the mat body is supported on its circumference on that with support feet Provided side is provided with a projecting edge, the free edge of which is a smaller distance from this side of the mat body than the free end of the support feet, wherein the support feet are preferably connected to one another and to the edge by ribs running on the surface of the mat body.
- Another embodiment is particularly suitable for the consolidation of paddoks, which are designed as a lawn, in which the mat body has openings between adjacent support feet and the support feet are the projections with different heights.
- the mat can be laid with the support feet upwards, while the nub-like elevations on the underside of the mat ensure a non-slip arrangement by interlocking with a ballast pad and at the same time ensure that the mat lies firmly on the ground.
- the different heights of the support feet give the hooves support and improve sure-footedness, while the cup-like depressions in the support feet can store a relatively large volume of water that not only inhibits the development of dust, but also promotes and maintains vegetation.
- earth with turf roots can be arranged in the areas around the support feet, which are secured against access, while the openings prevent the formation of standing moisture above the mats because they enable rapid water drainage.
- the lawn root system can reach down through the openings.
- the paddoc mats which are laid on a gravel layer of, for example, 10 to 15 cm in thickness, are included a humus cover of about 5 cm, into which a deep-rooted type of grass is sown.
- the root system is then in the mat area and below it and is protected by the support feet from excessive damage, so that depressed growth can always recover relatively quickly.
- Irrigation pipes that can not be destroyed from above and that can be fixed, for example, by clips that can be clipped in, can be installed between the support feet.
- Heating cables can also be laid, which can keep the paddoks accessible during severe frost periods.
- the paddock mats are therefore also suitable for fastening sports and parking lots with lawn cover. Because no cavities can form under the mat body due to the relatively low nub-like elevations, into which sand or soil can be trickled or washed in, the danger is avoided that material can accumulate under the mat and the mat can be climbed.
- a particularly suitable material for the production of the riding mat is soft PVC, the riding mats being able to be pressed very inexpensively and in an environmentally friendly manner from a molding compound obtained from cable jacket waste. Granules made from waste rubber and old tires can also be processed.
- One made of soft PVC e.g. a molding compound obtained from cable jacket waste in the recycling process, pressed, rectangular riding mat 10 has a plate-shaped mat body 12, which is provided along its circumference with an edge 14 projecting towards the underside of the mat body 12.
- support feet 16 are attached at equal intervals to one another on the underside of the mat body 12, which end downwards in a plane parallel to the underside of the mat body 12, which is below the plane through which Lower edge of the edge 14 is determined so that the riding mat 10 rests on the ground with the support feet 16, but not with the edge 14.
- the support feet 16 have the shape of a tapered annular truncated cone, i.e. the support feet 16 contain a downwardly opening cavity 18, which does not extend all the way to the underside of the mat body 12 and corresponds to an upwardly tapering truncated cone, so that the wall thickness of the support feet 16 decreases with increasing distance from the mat body 12.
- knob-like, truncated cone-shaped elevations 22 are arranged on the upper side 20 of the mat body 12, the upper end faces 24 of the elevations 22 ending in a first plane 26 parallel to the upper side 20 of the mat body 12.
- the support feet 16 are aligned coaxially with them on the top of the mat body 12 opposite recesses 28 penetrating into the mat body 12, which contain centrally knob-like, truncated cone-shaped elevations 30, the upper end faces 32 above the top 20 of the mat body 12 in a second, to the top 20 of the mat body 12 are parallel plane 34, which is located somewhat below the first plane 26.
- the support feet 16 are connected to one another and to the edge 14 by stabilizing ribs 36 which run parallel to the mutually opposite sections of the edge 14.
- the support feet 16, depressions 28, elevations 22 and 30, as well as the ribs 36 shown in the drawing and described above is only to be understood as an example, for example, the support feet may also be arranged in rows running at 45 ° to the direction of the side portions of the edge 14, so that the support feet of one row or row are each aligned with the center of the gap between the support feet of the adjacent rows or rows.
- the depressions and elevations are then also arranged accordingly and the ribs between the support feet would extend at an angle of 45 ° to the edge 14.
- the elevation 22 transfers the pressure of a hoof directly to the particularly resilient area of the mat body 12 located between the support feet 16, which enables an elastically cushioned step, while at the same time due to the relatively small distance to the adjacent elevations 22 Slipping of the hoof is prevented.
- the paddock mat shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 essentially corresponds to the riding mat described above, which is why the same or corresponding elements are identified by the same reference numerals.
- the paddock mat is laid in such a way that the support feet 16 point upwards and that therefore the support feet used to ensure the surefootedness of the horses are of different heights, i.e. that support feet 16a protrude up to a level 26 and support feet 16b only up to a level 34 above the surface of the mat body and that on the other side, which now forms the underside of the mat, the cup-like depressions 28 are omitted.
- the mat body is traversed by openings 40 so that the knob-like elevations 22 arranged there on the riding mat are omitted.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a floor fastening mat made of elastic material with a plate-shaped mat body, a plurality of projections formed on one side of the mat body with uniform distances from one another and with cup-like depressions formed on the other side.
Such floor mounting mats are used to make floor surfaces outdoors stable or drivable, as previously known from EP-A-0 210 285 and in particular as a so-called riding mat for mounting riding arenas. If the mat with the projections arranged on one side is placed on a coarse surface, in particular gravel, the position of the mat is secured against slipping away. The cup-like depressions on the top collect water and thereby prevent a quick drying out of a covering layer overlying the mat, which on riding arenas, for example, consists of an approximately 15 cm thick layer e.g. consists of sand and chips and thereby dampens the development of dust.
The invention is based on the object of adapting a floor fastening mat of the type mentioned at the outset to the special needs on surfaces entered by horses, in particular to ensure that the horses are sure-footed. By appropriate configurations, the floor mounting mat should also be Paddok mat for attaching lawn areas serving the horse runout or for attaching the jump and jump areas of obstacles when jumping, as well as generally for attaching the ground to lawn sports fields.
In order to prevent the hooves from slipping on the top of the mat, projections are also arranged on the side of the mat body having the cup-like depressions, which have two different heights with respect to the surface of the mat body and are arranged in such a way that a higher alternation with one lower lead follows.
A preferred embodiment is that the projections on one side are designed as support feet that have a greater height than the projections on the other side, which are designed as nub-like elevations. This results in a better elasticity of the mat, above all, by the part of the mat body located between the support feet, which can lower under load, which gives the animals the feeling of walking on an elastic, springy forest floor.
Another expedient embodiment consists in that the support feet on one side of the mat body are each assigned a cup-like depression on the other side.
A very advantageous improvement in the elastic effect and surefootedness can be achieved in that, according to another embodiment, nub-like elevations are arranged between these depressions on the surface of the mat body, which elevations extend up to a first plane parallel to the upper side of the mat body and that centrally in the wells too knob-like elevations are arranged, which extend up to a second, parallel to this, running between the top of the mat body and the first plane to this plane.
As a result of this design, the load is transmitted primarily to the higher elevations arranged between the depressions and thus to the area of the mat body which is not directly supported between the support feet, which is why an increased elastic effect can be determined in the immediate tread area. The elevations arranged in the depressions additionally reduce the risk of slipping.
An advantageous embodiment is that the support feet have a cup-like cavity opening in the direction facing away from the mat body, whereby the elasticity and the stackability is improved, in particular if, according to a further preferred embodiment, the depressions are designed in such a way that when they are stacked Mats are suitable for receiving the free end of the support feet, the elevation arranged in the recess preferably engaging in the mouth of the cavity of the foot that engages in the recess.
The support feet preferably have the shape of truncated cones. The cavity can be designed in the shape of a truncated cone in such a way that it opens in a funnel shape, as a result of which the thickness of the annular wall of the support feet decreases with increasing distance from the mat body.
In order to stabilize the mat as a whole and to facilitate covering a larger area without gaps, a further expedient embodiment consists in that the mat body is supported on its circumference on that with support feet Provided side is provided with a projecting edge, the free edge of which is a smaller distance from this side of the mat body than the free end of the support feet, wherein the support feet are preferably connected to one another and to the edge by ribs running on the surface of the mat body.
Another embodiment is particularly suitable for the consolidation of paddoks, which are designed as a lawn, in which the mat body has openings between adjacent support feet and the support feet are the projections with different heights.
So far, paddoks have been fastened with grass pavers that are not elastic and with their sharp edges can lead to hoof injuries. The use of plastic mats has not yet been used due to the excessive risk of slipping. Due to the new embodiment, the mat can be laid with the support feet upwards, while the nub-like elevations on the underside of the mat ensure a non-slip arrangement by interlocking with a ballast pad and at the same time ensure that the mat lies firmly on the ground. The different heights of the support feet give the hooves support and improve sure-footedness, while the cup-like depressions in the support feet can store a relatively large volume of water that not only inhibits the development of dust, but also promotes and maintains vegetation. At the same time, earth with turf roots can be arranged in the areas around the support feet, which are secured against access, while the openings prevent the formation of standing moisture above the mats because they enable rapid water drainage. In addition, the lawn root system can reach down through the openings. The paddoc mats, which are laid on a gravel layer of, for example, 10 to 15 cm in thickness, are included a humus cover of about 5 cm, into which a deep-rooted type of grass is sown. The root system is then in the mat area and below it and is protected by the support feet from excessive damage, so that depressed growth can always recover relatively quickly. Irrigation pipes that can not be destroyed from above and that can be fixed, for example, by clips that can be clipped in, can be installed between the support feet. Heating cables can also be laid, which can keep the paddoks accessible during severe frost periods. The paddock mats are therefore also suitable for fastening sports and parking lots with lawn cover. Because no cavities can form under the mat body due to the relatively low nub-like elevations, into which sand or soil can be trickled or washed in, the danger is avoided that material can accumulate under the mat and the mat can be climbed.
A particularly suitable material for the production of the riding mat is soft PVC, the riding mats being able to be pressed very inexpensively and in an environmentally friendly manner from a molding compound obtained from cable jacket waste. Granules made from waste rubber and old tires can also be processed.

One made of soft PVC, e.g. a molding compound obtained from cable jacket waste in the recycling process, pressed,

The main difference is that the paddock mat is laid in such a way that the
Claims (15)
- Ground stabilising mat of resilient material with a plate-shaped mat body (12), a plurality of projections (16; 22, 30) shaped on at one side of the mat body (12) at uniform spacings from one another and with cup-like recesses (28; 18) formed on the other side, characterised thereby that projections (22, 30; 16a, 16b) are also arranged on the side of the mat body (12) having the cup-like recesses (28; 18) and have two different heights in relation to the surface of the mat body, the projections being arranged in such a manner that a higher projection (16a) succeeds a lower projection (16b) in constant alternation.
- Ground stabilising mat according to claim 1, characterised thereby that the projections (16) on the one side are formed as support feet which have a greater height than the projections (22, 30) on the other side, which are formed as knub-like elevations.
- Ground stabilising mat according to claim 2, characterised thereby that the support feet (16) on the one side are each associated with a respective cup-like recess (28) on the other side.
- Ground stabilising mat according to claim 3, characterised thereby that arranged between these recesses (28) on the surface of the mat body are knub-like elevations (22) which extend up to a first plane (26) parallel to the upper side (20) of the mat body (12) and that similarly arranged centrally in the recesses (28) are knub-like elevations (30) which extend up to a second plane (34) which runs between the upper side (20) of the mat body and the first plane (26) and is parallel thereto.
- Ground stabilising mat according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterised thereby that the support feet (16) have a cup-like cavity (18) opening in the direction away from the mat body (12).
- Ground stabilising mat according to claim 5 in conjunction with claim 2, characterised thereby that the mat body (12) has through passages (40) between adjacent support feet (16a, 16b) and that the support feet (16a, 16b) are the projections with different height.
- Ground stabilising mat according to one of claims 2 to 6, characterised thereby that the base area of the support feet (16; 16a, 16b) is larger than the base area of the knub-like elevations (22, 30).
- Ground stabilising mat according to claim 3, characterised thereby that the recesses (28) are shaped in such a manner that they are suitable for reception of the free ends of the support feet (16) in stacking of the mats (10).
- Ground stabilising mat according to claims 3, 4 and 8, characterised thereby that the elevation (30) arranged in the recess (28) engages into the opening of the cavity (18) of the support foot (16) engaging in the recess (28).
- Ground stabilising mat according to one of claims 2 to 9, characterised thereby that the support feet (16) have the form of frustums of cones, the cross-section of which narrows with increasing spacing from the mat body.
- Ground stabilising mat according to claims 5 and 10, characterised thereby that the cavity (18) is frustoconically shaped in such a manner that it opens in funnel shape.
- Ground stabilising mat according to claim 2, characterised thereby that the mat body (12) is supported at its circumference and on the side provided with support feet by a projecting edge (14), the free edge of which has a smaller spacing from this side of the mat body than the free ends of the support feet (16).
- Ground stabilising mat according to claim 12, characterised thereby that the support feet (18) are connected amongst one another and with the edge (14) by ribs (36) extending on the surface of the mat body (12).
