Definitions
- the invention relates to a laboratory ventilation system for a laboratory, which has several air consumers, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the supply air required for room ventilation must be supplied free of drafts, whereby room air conditioning and room temperature maintenance must also be taken into account.
- buildings with large glass surfaces require a high cooling load due to the devices installed in the laboratories and the sun's rays. If only a few fume cupboards are provided, these cooling loads determine the necessary supply air quantity in summer, while in the colder months the necessary supply air quantities are determined more by the fume cupboards.
- the laboratory ventilation and ventilation systems previously used in practice represent complex systems that are difficult to survey, especially in laboratories with complex equipment.
- a conventional laboratory ventilation system is shown, which is provided with an exhaust air duct 31 for extracting ventilated cupboards 32, an exhaust air duct 33 for extracting fume cupboards 34, and an exhaust air duct 35 for other extractors.
- the supply air is supplied via a supply air line 36 from adjacent rooms and room air 37 is replenished since there must always be a negative pressure in the laboratory.
- the object underlying the invention is therefore to provide a laboratory ventilation system according to the preamble of claim 1, which is simple in construction and in which the exhaust air and supply air lines are integrated into a central exhaust and supply air system.
- the training according to the invention is intended to reduce investment requirements, space requirements and operating costs.
- the main consumers namely the fume cupboards
- the fume cupboards are automatically switched to a state of minimal energy consumption or minimum exhaust air volume when not in use
- the deductions 3 as larger consumers are equipped with a control system 5, 6, which is built into the fume cupboards and, moreover, designed in the following manner.
- a motion detector is provided on each fume cupboard so that the sliding window of the fume cupboard automatically moves down and provides a minimum volume flow required for this operation if no one is working on the fume cupboard for a certain period of time.
- the currently used volume flows i.e. the actual exhaust air values are applied to a central ventilation controller, namely a room controller 8. All values of the volume flows constantly set, for example on the control flaps 2 of the cabinets 1, continue to be on the room controller 8.
- the room controller 8 forms a manipulated variable from the applied values, which is connected to the building management system via a data line 9 as a control signal and which controls a flap 17 in the supply air line 16 in such a way that the laboratory room is kept in the supply air / exhaust air balance.
- the room controller 8 can also operate the flap 17 directly.
- the room is operated at a constant negative pressure, so that a volume flow 18 flows into the laboratory from the adjacent rooms.
- room suction devices 20 of the ceiling or floor suction devices 21 are provided and connected, then these are regulated via fixed volume flow controllers 19 and 22, which can be shut off and are controlled by the sliding window controller 6 of the fume cupboards.
- the setting values of these consumers are also on the room controller 8.
- a user wants to work on the trigger 3, then he can raise the sliding window of the trigger, which means that the controller 6 of the trigger increases the volume flow of the trigger and thereby enables safe work on the trigger.
- the corresponding data for the changed exhaust air quantities are on the room controller 8.
- the controller 6 regulates the volume flow back to the minimum via the control flap 5.
- the air values of all fixed suction systems and additionally via bus or analog lines from all controllers are the currently used volume flows, i.e. the actual values of the exhaust air quantities.
- the controller 8 adds these values and forwards a corresponding bus or analog signal to the room building control center. This regulates the supply air line 16 in such a way that the room supply air is adapted to the required exhaust air quantity via the flap 17. There remains a small amount of residual air 18 which is sucked in via corridor doors in order to maintain a negative pressure in the laboratory.
- All fume cupboards and suction devices are designed so that a maximum pressure drop of 150 Pascal is not exceeded, so that this can be prescribed as a constant value for the on-site exhaust air.
- Fume cupboards with increased volume flow for example through filters, are equipped with a push fan to ensure the uniformity of the exhaust air system.
- By consistently closing the fume hood when not in use all fume cupboards that are not in operation are kept at the minimum air volume value.
- a maximum of 50% of the peak demand can be assumed at the same time in the building, so that for this reason all supply and exhaust air lines can be reduced by a factor of 50%.
- the room controller 8 can directly control the flap 17 via analog output signals.
- the flap 17 is set so that this smallest prescribed supply air quantity is ensured .
- This value which is usually the case with an eightfold change of room air, is thus never undercut when controlling the flap 17.
- the laboratory is equipped with an air conditioning system, there are various temperature and air quality sensors for air conditioning technology in the room of the laboratory. It can happen that when using many devices in the laboratory, the amount of exhaust air, especially when the sliding window of the fume cupboards 3 is closed, is no longer sufficient to ensure reliable cooling. If the air conditioning system determines that the extracted and the supplied air quantities are too small, it can give the room controller 8 a higher setpoint via a line 10. The room controller 8 can then in turn influence the subordinate controllers, for example the controller 6 of the fume hood 3, in such a way that the air volume flows are increased even when the sliding window is closed, so that consequently more fresh air is also supplied to the room.
- the subordinate controllers for example the controller 6 of the fume hood 3
- the signal transmission between the room controller 8 and the connected units can take place with analog signals up to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA signals.
- a bus technology for example a two-wire or three-wire bus technology. In this case, the number of interfaces is considerably reduced and it is ensured that the building management system can be informed about the operating states by the room controller 8 at any time.
- the laboratory ventilation system described above has the advantage of simple ventilation control, with all measuring and ring elements being fundamentally integrated into the laboratory equipment. These include all fume cupboards, all other extraction systems, all ventilated cupboards and, if necessary, the necessary ceiling and floor air outlets. These components only require a specified minimum pressure on site and automatically regulate their air volume flows in the event of fluctuations. The equipment manufacturer therefore only needs a single connection point for the entire indoor air per line.
- the design is preferably such that the exhaust air ducts run through the building in vertical shafts, the central fans being located in the roof or in the basement area.
- This makes it possible to standardize the entire exhaust air duct in the laboratory. It is therefore sufficient to use standardized ventilation ducts that span the entire width of the laboratory.
- These can be prefabricated in the factory, attached to the consumers and connected to the on-site through line. The same procedure can also be followed on the supply air side. In another part of the room, vertical supply lines also run through the room. Prefabricated supply air systems can also be connected to these supply lines. It is only necessary to provide a flap between the supply lines and the room line, which controls the volume flow.
- masonry walls or lightweight concrete walls can also serve as supply air lines instead of supply air ducts.
- vertical passage lines for the exhaust air are arranged in a shaft which runs vertically through the corresponding building and is integrated in a wall between the hallway and the laboratory.
- Laboratory branch lines branch off in front of this shaft and lead to the individual consumers, for example to two fume cupboards.
- other extraction systems can also be connected.
- the supply duct for the supply air On the other side of the room is the supply duct for the supply air. This can be installed inside the room or outside the building.
- Supply lines for the room branch off from this supply air shaft and are controlled by the flap 17 shown in FIG. 1.
- the actual room air outlets hang on these supply lines, which can run separately, but can also be integrated in the duct. Due to the intersection-free operation of supply and exhaust air and the simple piping, a room height of approx.
- the 50% peak load that is achieved relates to all building management systems, which can be reduced by 50%.
- a peak load can be driven for a short time in a laboratory.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a laboratory ventilation system for a laboratory, which has several air consumers, according to the preamble of claim 1.
Laboratories generally use a large number of air consumers, which are fume cupboards that are manufactured in various widths and depths and in various designs, in particular for special applications in schools, for digestion work, biochemical work and isotope work. A large number of different fume cupboards are therefore available on the market, the suction air volumes of which range from 300-2000 m 3 per hour, the pressure losses fluctuating between 20 and 1000 pascals. In addition to the fume cupboards, open extraction units, source extraction units and storage cabinets with extraction units for all kinds of chemicals are used as air consumers. There are also under-floor extraction systems, ventilated substructures and ventilated cupboards. Finally, in some laboratories, floor suction systems or ceiling suction systems are also used, whereby some of these suction systems run continuously while others are switched on as required.
The supply air required for room ventilation must be supplied free of drafts, whereby room air conditioning and room temperature maintenance must also be taken into account. Especially in summer, buildings with large glass surfaces require a high cooling load due to the devices installed in the laboratories and the sun's rays. If only a few fume cupboards are provided, these cooling loads determine the necessary supply air quantity in summer, while in the colder months the necessary supply air quantities are determined more by the fume cupboards.
The laboratory ventilation and ventilation systems previously used in practice represent complex systems that are difficult to survey, especially in laboratories with complex equipment.
In Fig. 2 of the accompanying drawing, a conventional laboratory ventilation system is shown, which is provided with an exhaust air duct 31 for extracting ventilated
In the example of a conventional laboratory ventilation system shown in FIG. 2, three different
In view of the wide spread of pressure losses, it also happens that fume cupboards with two different exhaust systems have to be used, since with large fume cupboards the line pressure is not sufficient. This then requires complicated pipe routing, which in turn increases the room heights and thus the cubature of the building and drives up the investment costs.
The object underlying the invention is therefore to provide a laboratory ventilation system according to the preamble of claim 1, which is simple in construction and in which the exhaust air and supply air lines are integrated into a central exhaust and supply air system. The training according to the invention is intended to reduce investment requirements, space requirements and operating costs.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the training specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
In the configuration according to the invention, therefore, only a single exhaust air line is provided, which is connected to all consumers, and supply air and exhaust air are regulated via a central ventilation controller, to which all the exhaust air quantity values of the consumers are located and which accordingly provides the control variable for the supply air control device. The construction of such a laboratory ventilation system is simple and flexible, both for retrofitting and for conversions and rescheduling.
Besonders bevorzugte Ausgestaltungen und Weiterbildungen der erfindungsgemäßen Laborbe-und -entlüftungsanlage sind Gegenstand der Patentansprüche 2 bis 6.Particularly preferred refinements and developments of the laboratory ventilation system according to the invention are the subject of claims 2 to 6.
If, in particular, the main consumers, namely the fume cupboards, are automatically switched to a state of minimal energy consumption or minimum exhaust air volume when not in use, it is possible to design the entire exhaust air and supply air system to 50% of the necessary peak capacity by reducing the supplied supply air via the ventilation controller. This contributes significantly to a reduction in investment requirements, space requirements and operating costs.
Furthermore, when using the laboratory ventilation system according to the invention, it is possible to reduce the floor height previously required, for example from 4 m to 3.5 m, for example, since only a single air duct has to be provided.
- Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the embodiment of the laboratory ventilation system according to the invention and
- Fig. 2 is a schematic representation of a conventional laboratory ventilation system.
In the laboratory ventilation system shown in Fig. 1, all exhaust air extraction points are connected to a common exhaust system. The suction points that work continuously, such as the cupboards 1 for storing chemicals or the base cupboards, medication cupboards, drying cupboards and the like have mechanically fixed air volume flow regulators or flaps 2 that are firmly regulated. These are devices that use a spring construction to keep the volume flow constant regardless of the form.
The
The currently used volume flows, i.e. the actual exhaust air values are applied to a central ventilation controller, namely a
The room is operated at a constant negative pressure, so that a
Auch die Einstellwerte dieser Verbraucher liegen am Raumregler 8.If, in addition, room suction devices 20 of the ceiling or floor suction devices 21 are provided and connected, then these are regulated via fixed
All consumers are connected to a single
- The data on the data line 7 on the
room controller 8 about the data set at theconsumers 1, 3 or variably regulated exhaust air quantities are converted into a corresponding manipulated variable for setting the flap 17 of the supply air duct 16 in such a way that an air supply corresponding to the required exhaust air quantities is provided is.
If a user wants to work on the
At the
All fume cupboards and suction devices are designed so that a maximum pressure drop of 150 Pascal is not exceeded, so that this can be prescribed as a constant value for the on-site exhaust air. Fume cupboards with increased volume flow, for example through filters, are equipped with a push fan to ensure the uniformity of the exhaust air system. By consistently closing the fume hood when not in use, all fume cupboards that are not in operation are kept at the minimum air volume value. As a result, a maximum of 50% of the peak demand can be assumed at the same time in the building, so that for this reason all supply and exhaust air lines can be reduced by a factor of 50%.
If no building management system is provided, which is the case, for example, if there is no laboratory air conditioning, the
If the signal formed from the volume flow values of the consumers on the
If the laboratory is equipped with an air conditioning system, there are various temperature and air quality sensors for air conditioning technology in the room of the laboratory. It can happen that when using many devices in the laboratory, the amount of exhaust air, especially when the sliding window of the
The signal transmission between the
The laboratory ventilation system described above has the advantage of simple ventilation control, with all measuring and ring elements being fundamentally integrated into the laboratory equipment.
The design is preferably such that the exhaust air ducts run through the building in vertical shafts, the central fans being located in the roof or in the basement area. This makes it possible to standardize the entire exhaust air duct in the laboratory. It is therefore sufficient to use standardized ventilation ducts that span the entire width of the laboratory. These can be prefabricated in the factory, attached to the consumers and connected to the on-site through line. The same procedure can also be followed on the supply air side. In another part of the room, vertical supply lines also run through the room. Prefabricated supply air systems can also be connected to these supply lines. It is only necessary to provide a flap between the supply lines and the room line, which controls the volume flow. Especially with the supply air, masonry walls or lightweight concrete walls can also serve as supply air lines instead of supply air ducts.
With such a design, there is an almost cross-free operation of exhaust and supply air lines. The structure, which had to accommodate a large number of different pipelines in the laboratory ventilation systems that have been customary up to now, can be reduced in height and in terms of cubature and can thus be significantly cheaper. This is made possible by the fact that all components as well as the self-regulating consumers, which make it possible to use measuring and actuating elements in the tightest of spaces, have uniform pressure losses.
In a specific exemplary embodiment of the above laboratory ventilation system, vertical passage lines for the exhaust air are arranged in a shaft which runs vertically through the corresponding building and is integrated in a wall between the hallway and the laboratory. Laboratory branch lines branch off in front of this shaft and lead to the individual consumers, for example to two fume cupboards. However, other extraction systems can also be connected. On the other side of the room is the supply duct for the supply air. This can be installed inside the room or outside the building. Supply lines for the room branch off from this supply air shaft and are controlled by the flap 17 shown in FIG. 1. The actual room air outlets hang on these supply lines, which can run separately, but can also be integrated in the duct. Due to the intersection-free operation of supply and exhaust air and the simple piping, a room height of approx. 3.20 m is sufficient, which leads to a floor height of 3.40 m. Standard laboratories have been around 1 m so far planned and built higher, so that there is considerable cost savings. In the above example, the location and location of the inlet and outlet lines can be exchanged at any time, so that the exhaust air lines can also run outside the building, while the supply air lines run inside the building.
Another reason for the lower design of the building is that the building no longer has to be designed for the peak load, but can be built on a simultaneity of approx. 50%. The previous laboratory ventilation systems operate continuously and are designed for 100% peak load. The reason for this is that experience has shown that even with sliding window controlled fume cupboards, so many sliding windows are open that the system has to be built at maximum load. Because the sliding windows always close in the manner described above when the fume cupboards are not in use, the system can be dimensioned in advance to 50% of the peak load. This means, for example, that in a laboratory with several fume cupboards, the basic load is set with all continuous consumers and all suits in the closed sliding window position. If a sliding window is opened, the deduction increases to 50% of the peak load. If you are working on two fume cupboards, the system can also temporarily reach peak load operation via the supply line in the room. However, it can be assumed that times are limited in this regard. The 50% peak load that is achieved relates to all building management systems, which can be reduced by 50%. A peak load can be driven for a short time in a laboratory.
