Abstract

The document file is pref. paper coated and has a viewing window (18) for the rear side shield, with the viewing window spanned by a transparent cellulose film. Description

The invention relates to a back plate arrangement for a preferably paper-laminated binder cover made of cardboard material.

Spine label arrangements of this type form a frame or an insert pocket for spine labels in the area of the folder spine, which leave a window for the spine label possibly spanned by a transparent film. Known spine label holders predominantly have a pocket that can be welded or glued to the folder back made of weldable plastic material, such as PVC (DE-A 33 13 879, DE-GM 16 68 803) or from a metal frame that can be screwed or riveted to the folder back (DE-GM 18 86 218 ) on. Both variants are relatively complex and expensive. In a known back shield arrangement on a plastic-free and non-metallic basis (EP-A-505 697), which is easy to manufacture and can be attached to the letter folder, the use of a mask has already been proposed which has an upwardly open cutout which forms a viewing opening for the back shield and which can be glued on the back while leaving an insertion gap and a stop edge delimiting the insertion gap in the insertion direction. The viewing window can be covered with a cellulose-based transparent film. However, it has been shown that the cellulose-based films in particular are sensitive to tearing and are not suitable for back label pockets without additional tear protection.

The invention is therefore based on the object of developing a back plate arrangement of the type mentioned which, despite the use of a transparent film based on cellulose, is not at risk of tearing.

To solve this problem, according to the invention a paper frame consisting of at least two mutually opposing frame legs delimiting the viewing window is proposed, the frame legs of which are glued behind by the transparent film spanning the viewing window and which form an insert pocket for the back plate which is open in the region of one of the frame legs or can be glued indirectly to the binder cover using a paper backing. The paper frame provides effective tear protection for the transparent film.

A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the paper frame is designed as a one-piece paper blank with a viewing window delimited by a circumferential cutting line and four frame legs connected to one another in one piece. In order to ensure transport protection for the transparent film, it is expedient to close the viewing window by means of a cut part which can be removed by hand or by machine and which is connected to the frame legs along the partially cut or perforated cutting line. The detachable blank can bounded on its outer edge by a free cut running along the cutting line and connected to the frame legs by spaced apart, bridging webs that bridge the free cut.

In order to avoid paper waste during production, it is in principle also possible to assemble the paper frame from the separate frame legs glued to the transparent film.

A particularly simple manufacturing embodiment of the invention provides that the paper frame is glued flat to the folder cover with the film side of its frame legs. In order to enlarge the insertion space for the back plate, however, it is advisable to form folded strips on the three glued frame legs, which can be bent at least easily from the plane of the frame on fold lines and can be glued to the back of the folder in the bent state.

Furthermore, a gripping cutout can be arranged on at least one of the frame legs for access to the back plate located in the glued-on insert pocket.

A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that a fold strip or fold back is formed on at least one of the frame legs, which can be folded around a fold line parallel to the frame leg by 180 ° and glued to the folder back in the folded state is. Advantageously, a folding strip that can be glued to the folder spine in the folded state is formed on two opposite frame legs, while a further folding strip can be formed on a third and / or fourth frame leg, which can be glued to the folder spine in the folded state. In order to facilitate access to the back plate, in this case, at least one of the frame legs can be punched out with a closed handle recess which reaches up to the fold line or overlaps the fold line and which can extend over almost the entire length of the relevant frame leg in order to achieve a sufficient insertion width. In order to avoid an overlap of the folded strips, it is advantageous if at least one of the folded strips extends only over a partial length of the frame leg in question.

A further advantageous embodiment variant of the invention provides that a fold back which can be folded over on a fold line is provided and which carries on its outer edge opposite the fold line a fold strip which can be folded over by another fold line and can be glued to the opposite frame leg. In this case, the fold back forms a pocket bottom which is formed on one side on a frame leg and on the other side is glued to the opposite frame leg via the fold strip.

To facilitate attachment to the spine of the folder, it is advantageous if the folded strip or fold back carries an adhesive or adhesive layer on its side facing the folder back in the folded state.

In order to keep the paper waste as small as possible in the manufacture of the spine label arrangement, it is proposed according to a modified development of the invention that at least some of the frame legs are formed as folded or double fold strips on a pocket bottom glued to the spine of the folder, each around a fold line Can be folded over 180 ° and connected with the transparent film. In this case too, it is possible for at least one of the folded strips to punch out a closed handle recess which extends up to the fold line or overlaps the fold line.

A particularly simple embodiment variant, which is characterized by a low cost of material, provides that at least some of the frame legs are designed as single or double folds, folded strips individually glued to the transparent film and to the folder spine.
