Description

The invention relates to a method for applying a cleaning fluid to a cleaning floor surface, in particular carpets, tiles, parquet and the like, by means of a Floor care device with an application device which has an aerosol atomizer, the cleaning fluid in finely atomized droplet form on the floor surface sprayed on.

An aerosol sprayer for use in a floor care device is from US-A-3 736 259 and known from EP-A-0 537 470. From US-A-5 152 457 is a piezo atomizer known, which is suitable for atomizing liquids, but not for use in a floor care device.

Another floor care device (DE-U-76 36 603) is on its bottom wall facing the carpet to be cleaned equipped with an application device for cleaning agents, which means a rubber lip is applied to the carpet. In the main direction of travel of the device this application device is followed by a driven one which engages in the carpet pile Disc roller, which the applied cleaning agent in the carpet pile incorporated. This is followed by a pick-up device, which has also been replaced Cleaning fluid mixed with dirt particles from the carpet surface by a Removes air flow. The disadvantage of this structure is that with such a trained Experience has shown that application device applies cleaning liquid in such an amount is that there is a strong wetting of the carpet and a corresponding high amount of liquid remains in the carpet despite immediate suction. Hereby there is a very long wait between cleaning the carpet and the at least extensive drying of the carpet. Is a correspondingly long time then the room in question is not accessible.

The invention has for its object a method for applying a cleaning fluid to indicate on a floor surface to be cleaned, by which a reduction the dampening of the floor surface to be cleaned is achieved.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the claim 1. Advantageous further developments of the invention are in the dependent claims specified.

According to the invention, an amount just sufficient for the cleaning process of the cleaning fluid in microfine atomized droplet form on the floor surface to be cleaned sprayed, which only to wet this floor surface and a carpet is sufficient to wet the top of it. Thanks to its mist-like shape, the cleaning fluid practically does not penetrate the carpet pile and is only with a suitably trained floor care device by a subsequent brush roller brushed into the carpet pile or onto a smooth floor rubbed to increase dirt removal due to this mechanical action to reach. With a carpet, the cleaning fluid is therefore due to the small amount applied in finely divided form not washed into the carpet base and only incorporated into the pile in the smallest amount by the brush roller, so that only the individual Carpet threads are wetted. The aerosol atomizer used for this creates Droplets ranging in size from 15 microns to 150 microns in diameter.

The Cleaning fluid is preferably a liquid, the dirt-removing surfactants contains. The amount of floor space to be applied per square meter Cleaning fluid is in particular about 0.1 liters per square meter and can be between 50 cubic centimeters and 120 cubic centimeters in the range between low and high Pile lying. The application device attached to the device housing is included a speed between 0.1 meters and 0.2 meters per second across the floor area led to achieve a fluid application reaching all parts of the surface. The Application device can preferably be driven by vibrations Have atomizers, in particular a vibrated piezo crystal as an atomizing element.

In the practical operation of a floor care device designed according to the method by means of the application device, the cleaning fluid in micro-atomized form cleaning floor surface applied by moving the device and then through the brush roller in intimate contact with the floor surface and possibly the pile hair a carpet brought into intimate contact, after which a subsequent suction device absorbs part of the cleaning fluid together with the loosened dirt. As a result of the small amount of detergent applied to the floor surface the moisture penetration of a carpet is reduced to a minimum and thus significantly reduced the time until it could be walked on again. It is expedient, in pairs, the application device and the brush roller and delayed then activate the brush roller and the suction device so that the applied Cleaning liquid develop its dirt-removing effect over a period of time can and will only be included in a later step. It is advisable to provide the suction device as a slot nozzle closely adjacent to the brush roller, around the dirt and liquid particles thrown up by the brush roller before being deposited again on the floor surface by the exhaust air flow dissipate.
