Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a driving tool for fasteners which can be anchored by driving in.
Such fasteners can be designed as a nail without an expansion area, which are driven directly into the anchoring base, for example wood, gas concrete or the like, without pre-drilling. For hard building materials, nailable fasteners with an expansion area are used, which are anchored by driving them into a hole made in the anchoring base. The fasteners are usually driven in by hammer blows that are applied directly to the nail head. Driving tools with a flat face are used when setting the fastening elements in unfavorable places or when setting them mechanically with a rotary hammer. The flat striking surface very often causes the driving tool to slip or tilt on the nail head, so that the impact energy does not act centrally on the fastening element. This results in bumps and damage to the fastener, which prevents the fastener from being properly placed. Furthermore, attaching the fastener to hard-to-reach places is difficult or impossible since there is no possibility of holding the fastener.
The invention has for its object to provide a driving tool for fasteners which can be anchored by driving in, with which a correct setting of the fasteners is made possible even in hard-to-reach places.
This object is achieved by the features specified in
To improve the mounting between the driving tool and the fastening element, it is advantageous to design the centering hole in such a way that a funnel-shaped section extends from the end face of the head of the fastening element and is adjoined by a cylindrical hole. By adapting the centering pin to the centering hole, the fastening element can also be held in a horizontal position with the driving tool and easily attached to a wall. Furthermore, a centering hole designed in this way is suitable for attaching a cover cap to the head of the anchored fastening element.
For a mechanical setting of the fastening elements with a hammer drill, it is expedient to provide the driving tool with a clamping shank that fits into the receptacle of the hammer drill.
When the fastener is mechanically driven in, the face of the driving tool rotates on the end face of the head of the fastener. In the case of a galvanized fastening element, this rotation of the face can damage the zinc layer serving as corrosion protection. In order to avoid this, a further embodiment of the invention provides that the centering pin which engages in the centering bore of the fastening element is arranged on a plunger which is rotatably held on the shaft of the driving tool. Through the Friction between the face of the driving tool and the end face of the head of the fastening element prevents the plunger from rotating due to the fixed fastening element, while the shaft of the driving tool rotates relative to the plunger.
In the event of an insufficient friction surface between the plunger and the head of the fastening element, the centering pin can additionally be designed such that it engages in a clamping manner in the centering bore in the head of the fastening element.
For mounting and axially securing the plunger against falling out, it is expedient that the plunger, with its end facing away from the centering pin and having a constriction, lies in a central inner bore of the shaft of the driving tool and is arranged by flanged edge arranged on the front end of the shaft and projecting into the constriction, Circlip or the like is axially secured.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.
