Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for retaining a boot on a sliding board, especially on a snowboard.
- the invention also relates to a shoe for the practice of sliding, in particular the snowboarding, as well as a retainer.
- Snowboarding is a sliding sport that is practiced by means of a board in the shape of plate, the front end of which is raised to form the spatula. Some boards also have the rear end raised.
- the skier is connected to the board via two elements restraint that hold each of his shoes.
- the retainers are generally offset along the median longitudinal axis of the plate and they form with this axis an angle of 5 to 90 degrees on either side of this axis. This angle as well as the distance - between the two retaining elements can be adjustable.
- the retaining elements generally include a plate on which the sole of shoe is in support. At each end of the plate, the shoe is retained by a stirrup which takes hold of the front or rear toe of the shoe.
- Such a device is for example known from the French patent application published under number 2 669 237.
- Another device of this type is known from the published European patent application under number 396 133.
- This device further comprises an intermediate plate which is connected to the gliding board by a trigger type link.
- the shoe is however retained on the plate by traditional stirrups.
- the device includes a seat hollowed out in the ski which is designed to releasably trigger an interface 2, itself fixedly attached to the shoe.
- the interface is retained in the seat by retaining cavities located at the front and rear of the seat which cooperate with the front and rear ends of the interface and by a central positioning member which also acts as a vertical pivot between the seat and interface.
- Triggering is carried out either by pivoting the seat around the positioning or retracting a lock calibrated by a spring, which is located at the rear of the interface.
- the currently known retaining elements have the drawback of being bulky, either in the direction of the length of the shoe or in the direction of the height.
- the currently known retaining elements occupy a large area of the board, and thereby disturb its flexion and / or torsion during the glide.
- One of the aims of the invention is to propose a device for retaining a shoe on a gliding board which has a reduced bulk.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a retaining device towards the board which ensures good transmission of the forces produced by the surfer during the glide.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a retaining device whose construction is particularly simple.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a retaining device which can be adapted without special adjustment to shoes of different length and volume.
- the retaining device, the shoe and the retaining element according to the invention are defined in the claims independent 1, 17 and 19 respectively.
- Dependent claims 2 to 16 and 18 give forms of particular achievements.
- FIG 1 there is shown schematically seen from above a surfboard of snow 1.
- the board is in the form of an elongated plate in a direction longitudinal median 2.
- the lateral edges of the board are most often curved following what is commonly called dimension lines.
- the front end 3 of the board is raised to form the spatula.
- the rear end can also be raised, depending on the nature of the gliding discipline practiced.
- the surfer is connected to board 1 by means of his two shoes which are retained on the upper surface of the board by retaining devices.
- the surfer's shoes are retained next to each other in the longitudinal direction median 2, in the central area of the board, at a distance of approximately 45 centimeters from each other.
- Both shoes are oriented respectively in directions 6 and 7 which are oriented obliquely to direction 2.
- the angles of orientation vary depending on the case between 90 and 5 degrees on one side or on the other of the longitudinal direction depending on whether the surfer is "goofy" or "regular” in nature. In general, these angles are adjustable.
- the shoe spacing can also be adjustable.
- the width of the board in the central area is close to the length of the shoe or less than this length.
- each shoe is retained on the board by a retaining device.
- the retainer includes an element associated with the shoe and an element associated with the board.
- One of the elements has a rib-forming means, the other element has a means forming a groove.
- the rib and the groove have, in section, complementary forms to fit into each other. Preferably, these shapes provide an automatic backlash.
- the device further comprises a locking means to keep the rib fitted into the groove.
- FIG. 2 schematically illustrates a first implementation of the invention. This figure shows in perspective a retaining element 10 associated with the board and an element retainer 11 associated with the shoe sole.
- the retaining element 10 is in the form of a rib 12 oriented along the longitudinal direction defined by the sole of the shoe, with in its lower part a base 13 intended for securing the element to the board.
- the retaining element 11 has a longitudinal groove 15 which, in the example illustrated leads forwards and backwards. This is intended to facilitate the evacuation of snow and is not limiting.
- the rib 12 and the groove 15 have a similar length. This length is of the same order of magnitude as the length of the shoe.
- Figure 3 shows in cross section the element 11 fitted on the element 10.
- the lateral flanks 17, 18 of the rib 12 are inclined relative to a vertical plane, so that the rib widens downwards.
- the lateral flanks 19 and 20 of the rib are also inclined in a complementary manner.
- the widths of the rib and the groove are determined so that the fit and the support between the rib and the groove in a vertical direction is done by the relative support of their respective lateral flanks.
- the vertical support between the two elements could also be produced by cooperation of the top 21 of the rib with the bottom 22 of the groove, or else by the edges 23 of the groove with the lateral edges of the base 13, or any other suitable means.
- the lateral edges 23 of the groove could be fitted at least locally with strips or pads 25 of elastically deformable material which ensure both a partial recovery of forces vertical, a backlash, and if necessary a slight elastic play during the slide. These bands or skates can also be useful during walking.
- the device illustrated in the figures also comprises a locking means for holding the interlocking of the rib and the groove.
- the figures show for this purpose for element 11 a transverse profile 28 which is located towards the middle of the rib, and which extends between its two edges lateral, towards the middle of the height.
- the profile 28 is for example circular, but it can also present in section any other form.
- the rib 12 has, for its part, to receive the profile 28, a notch 30 oriented along a transverse direction.
- the notch 30 is flared upwards, to facilitate the guiding of the profile 28 during its introduction.
- the rib 12 also has a sort of bolt 31, which is movable in one direction longitudinal, and which is positioned to be able to block the profile 28 at the bottom of the notch 30.
- the targette is located in the middle of the width of the rib 12, it is slidably mounted in a longitudinal direction in a housing 32, and it is resiliently returned to the position for closing the notch 30 with a spring 33.
- a zipper 35 or any other suitable means is connected to the pin 31.
- the zipper allows momentarily retract the bolt in the rib to release the opening of the notch 30.
- the zipper could also be replaced by a side lever or by any other suitable means for operate the targette, in particular a flexible means such as a cable.
- the targette 31 has an inclined upper surface which allows a automatic engagement of the profile in the notch by vertical pressure of the profile on the targette. If necessary, the bottom surface of the bolt is slightly inclined to ensure automatic play take-up on the profile 28.
- the face of the notch opposite the bolt may have an opening in which the end of the bolt engages in the closed position of the notch.
- the notch in section has dimensions very close to those of the profile 28 to ensure its retention almost without play.
- the mode of use of the device is as follows.
- the element 11 associated with the shoe constitutes by example the lower part of a shoe sole, which is surmounted by a shell or a rod appropriate. This shell or this rod are not shown in the various figures.
- the element 10 is secured to the surface of the gliding board in a desired orientation. Solidarity is carried out by any appropriate means.
- the orientation of the element 10 relative to the longitudinal longitudinal direction 2 of the board is adjustable. Any other setting can also be added in particular an inclination adjustment of the shoe relative to a direction perpendicular to the board, or an adjustment of the distance separating the element 10 from the other retaining element from the other shoe.
- the surfer When putting on, the surfer places his shoe so that it fits on the rib 12, and the profile 28 is presented at the opening of the notch 30. If necessary, it can facilitate this positioning by a rocking movement from front to back of his shoe. By a vertical pressure of his shoe, the surfer forces the targette 31 to open, allowing penetration and then locking the profile in the notch.
- the cooperation between the rib and the groove on the one hand, the profile, the notch and the bolt on the other hand ensures a connection between the two retaining elements according to all the degrees of freedom.
- the locking means that is to say the profile 28, the notch 30 and the pin 31 provide a connection in the vertical direction of fitting and in the longitudinal direction defined by the rib.
- the surfer pulls on the pull tab 32, thus allowing the profile 28 to be released from the notch 30.
- the rib and the groove which cooperate together can have any shape appropriate, and do not necessarily have a cross section of dimensions along their length constants.
- the rib and / or the groove are not necessarily continuous according to their main direction.
- Figure 5 shows the retaining element 10 in the form of a rib 40 whose lateral flanks 41, 42 are substantially convex and generally have inclinations asymmetrical with respect to a vertical and longitudinal median plane shown diagrammatically at 46.
- the vertex 43 of the rib is inclined relative to a horizontal plane.
- Figure 5 also shows recesses 44 and 45 distributed along the length of the rib.
- the locking means is shown with two pins 47 and 48, located at the ribs 44, 45, the opening of which is controlled by a lateral lever 19.
- the connection of the lever to the bolts is within the reach of those skilled in the art.
- the shoe in this case has a two-part attachment means, located at the front and at the rear of the sole. These parts cooperate with the bolts 47, 48 and have a constant distance whatever the length of the shoe.
- the rib may have top view of a triangular shape, or have a triangular shape in section on at least one part of its length.
- the rib could also have several secondary branches, so example to form a "T", a "Y” or any other suitable form.
- the other retaining element has a groove whose cross-sectional dimensions are appropriate to those of the rib.
- the rib and the groove ensure immobilization of the shoe on the board around a vertical direction and in a direction transverse to the main direction of the rib.
- the locking means provides a connection around in a vertical direction upwards and in the main direction of the rib. Possibly this longitudinal connection can be achieved by the interlocking of the rib and the groove, because of their shape or, by example, by transverse secondary ribs which cooperate with grooves or secondary recesses.
- Figure 6 shows another alternative embodiment.
- the retaining element 11 associated with the shoe is generally presented as a rib composed of two parts 51 and 52, respectively located at the front and rear of the element in alignment with each other.
- the rib parts 51 and 52 are bounded laterally by lateral flanges, respectively 54, 55, 56, 57. These edges are preferably curved forward and backward to facilitate the market.
- the flanges 55 and 57, 54 and 56 are separated by recesses.
- the element 10 associated with the board is presented as a rib laterally limited by two side edges 60 and 61. Between the edges 60 and 61 in a transverse direction, the element 10 has a longitudinal recess 62. The recess 62 opens out towards the front and towards the rear. The length of the rib is close to the length of the rib formed by the side flanges 54 to 57 or lower.
- the dimensions of a cross section of the rib formed by the longitudinal edges 60 and 61 are complementary to those of the groove formed by the edges 54 to 57 to ensure a nesting of the rib in the groove.
- the sides of the rib and groove are inclined relative to a vertical plane.
- the device also has a locking means.
- the element 11 has in its central part, between parts 51 and 52, a shape 64 which extends in relief according to a longitudinal direction on the bottom of the groove.
- This relief shape is intended to be used in the recess 62 of the rib, between the longitudinal edges 60 and 61. It has in section transverse dimensions smaller than or equal to those of the recess 62 to be able to be engaged in the recess.
- an adjustment of these forms between them is not essential.
- the relief shape 64 has two lateral studs 66 and 67, which extend transversely, so that the distance between their ends is approximately equal to the width of the rib.
- the studs 66 and 67 are the ends of a profile whose central part is embedded in the relief shape 64.
- the longitudinal edges 60, 61 of the rib have two notches 68 and 69, which are intended to receive the lateral studs 66 and 67.
- the locking means also comprises two portions of bolt 70 and 71 which are guided in the side edges 60 and 61. These portions of bolts have the same function as the targette previously described. They can be operated by a pull tab 73.
- the pull tab and the targette portions consist of a section folded in a "U" shape, the two lateral branches are guided inside the longitudinal edges 60 and 61. This is not limiting, and the bolt portions could be operated by a lateral lever or by any other appropriate means.
- the targette portions can be recalled in position for closing the notches by an elastic means such as a spring, the notches 68 and 69 can be flared upward, and the targette portions can be fitted with ramps to facilitate the introduction and automatic locking of studs 66 and 67 in the notches, and if necessary to catch up on games at this level.
- Figures 8 and 9 show another variant implementation of the invention.
- the element 11 associated with the shoe has a sort of rib 90 oriented in the longitudinal direction of the sole.
- the rib is here formed by four faces 91, 92, 93, 94, converging two by two towards the median longitudinal direction of the sole and towards the central area of the sole, like an "X".
- the rib 90 is in two parts 95 and 96 located towards the front and the rear of the shoe. The two parts 95 and 96 are separated by a recess, and are connected between them by a profile 98, oriented in the longitudinal direction of the sole.
- the element 10 associated with the board has a kind of groove 99, oriented in the longitudinal direction of the shoe, the front part and the part rear are flared. These front and rear parts are limited by four sides 101 to 104. From preferably, as shown in Figures 8 and 9, the groove 99 is formed by four studs 105 to 108, separated from each other by recesses. Each of the studs carries a side 100 to 103 of the rib.
- the sides 93 to 96, 101 to 104 are inclined in the same way as in the previous cases.
- the orientation of the sidewalls relative to a longitudinal direction is not limiting, it is for example of the order of 30 to 60 degrees. This orientation can also be different forwards and backwards of the shoe.
- the figures represent flat sides. This is not limiting, and the sides could also be curved or curved.
- the element 10 In the middle of the studs 105, 107 and 103, 104, in the longitudinal direction, the element 10 has a locking means which is intended to cooperate with the profile 98 of the element 11.
- the locking means comprises a bolt 110, guided at sliding in a transverse direction by a transverse support 111.
- the targette 110 can be operated at the opening by a zipper 112 which constitutes its extension beyond of the support 11.
- an elastic means such as a spring can ensure the automatic closing of the bolt.
- a second support 113 faces the first.
- the two supports form between them a recess 115 intended to receive the section 98.
- the recess 115 is flared up.
- the targette may have an upper ramp intended for facilitate the automatic engagement of the profile, and a lower ramp intended to catch the games at this level.
- the locking means does not act on the element associated with the shoe only in a vertical direction, upwards.
- the other degrees of freedom between the two elements 10 and 11 in rotation or in translation are neutralized by the cooperation of sides of the groove and the rib.
- the dimensions of the forms which cooperate by interlocking are not limiting. Preferably, they fit into the outline of the shoe sole and its projection on the board. There is no direct relationship between the length of a shoe and the longitudinal dimensions of the shapes, if although the element associated with the board can be used without modification or adjustment with shoes of different length or different volume. Just plan on these different shoes the same complementary shape and the same locations for the hanging means and the locking means.
- the rib or the groove extends from the metatarsal area to the heel area. So for a defined range of lengths of shoes, the complementary shapes of the elements associated with the board and the shoe extend from the metatarsal area to the heel of the longer foot. However, this is not limiting with respect to the invention.
- Elements 10 and 12 associated with the gliding board and the shoe are made in all suitable material.
- they are made of a plastic material or a light alloy.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for retaining a boot on a sliding board, especially on a snowboard.
The invention also relates to a shoe for the practice of sliding, in particular the snowboarding, as well as a retainer.
Snowboarding is a sliding sport that is practiced by means of a board in the shape of plate, the front end of which is raised to form the spatula. Some boards also have the rear end raised. The skier is connected to the board via two elements restraint that hold each of his shoes. The retainers are generally offset along the median longitudinal axis of the plate and they form with this axis an angle of 5 to 90 degrees on either side of this axis. This angle as well as the distance - between the two retaining elements can be adjustable.
There are two main families of shoe retainers on the board, depending on that the shoes are of rigid type, or of flexible type. For rigid type shoes the retaining elements generally include a plate on which the sole of shoe is in support. At each end of the plate, the shoe is retained by a stirrup which takes hold of the front or rear toe of the shoe.
le numéro 2 669 237.Such a device is for example known from the French patent application published under
Another device of this type is known from the published European patent application under number 396 133. This device further comprises an intermediate plate which is connected to the gliding board by a trigger type link. The shoe is however retained on the plate by traditional stirrups.
Another device is disclosed in
The interface is retained in the seat by retaining cavities located at the front and rear of the seat which cooperate with the front and rear ends of the interface and by a central positioning member which also acts as a vertical pivot between the seat and interface.
Triggering is carried out either by pivoting the seat around the positioning or retracting a lock calibrated by a spring, which is located at the rear of the interface.
We also know, for example from the French patent application published under the
The currently known retaining elements have the drawback of being bulky, either in the direction of the length of the shoe or in the direction of the height. In in addition, apart from adjusting the orientation of the shoes relative to the direction longitudinal of the board, they require adjustments to adapt to the surfer's shoe, mainly at its length.
In addition, the currently known retaining elements occupy a large area of the board, and thereby disturb its flexion and / or torsion during the glide.
One of the aims of the invention is to propose a device for retaining a shoe on a gliding board which has a reduced bulk.
Another object of the invention is to propose a retaining device towards the board which ensures good transmission of the forces produced by the surfer during the glide.
Another object of the invention is to propose a retaining device whose construction is particularly simple.
Another object of the invention is to propose a retaining device which can be adapted without special adjustment to shoes of different length and volume.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will appear during the description which follows to follow, this description being however given as an indication, and not limiting.
The retaining device, the shoe and the retaining element according to the invention are defined in the claims independent 1, 17 and 19 respectively. Dependent claims 2 to 16 and 18 give forms of particular achievements.
In Figure 1, there is shown schematically seen from above a surfboard of
Generally, the
The surfer is connected to
Of course this is only given for information and has no limiting value for the invention. There are indeed many embodiments of such a gliding board, in particular many different, symmetrical or asymmetrical shapes adapted especially the size of the surfer and the sliding discipline practiced.
According to the invention, each shoe is retained on the board by a retaining device. The retainer includes an element associated with the shoe and an element associated with the board. One of the elements has a rib-forming means, the other element has a means forming a groove. The rib and the groove have, in section, complementary forms to fit into each other. Preferably, these shapes provide an automatic backlash. The device further comprises a locking means to keep the rib fitted into the groove.
de retenue 11 associé à la semelle de chaussure.FIG. 2 schematically illustrates a first implementation of the invention. This
figure shows in perspective a retaining
The retaining
Figure 3 shows in cross section the
Preferably, the widths of the rib and the groove are determined so that the fit and the support between the rib and the groove in a vertical direction is done by the relative support of their respective lateral flanks.
However, this is not limiting, and the vertical support between the two elements could also be
produced by cooperation of the top 21 of the rib with the bottom 22 of the groove, or else by the
The device illustrated in the figures also comprises a locking means for holding
the interlocking of the rib and the groove. The figures show for this purpose for element 11 a
The
Advantageously, the
Below the level of the pull tab, the notch in section has dimensions very close to those of the
chaussure. The mode of use of the device is as follows. The
When putting on, the surfer places his shoe so that it fits on the
permettant ainsi la libération du profilé 28 hors de l'encoche 30.To voluntarily release his shoe, the surfer pulls on the
According to the invention, the rib and the groove which cooperate together can have any shape appropriate, and do not necessarily have a cross section of dimensions along their length constants. In addition, the rib and / or the groove are not necessarily continuous according to their main direction.
To illustrate this, Figure 5 shows the retaining
In this variant, the locking means is shown with two
Other adaptations could also be adopted. For example, the rib may have top view of a triangular shape, or have a triangular shape in section on at least one part of its length. The rib could also have several secondary branches, so example to form a "T", a "Y" or any other suitable form. We can also be required to equip locally the different faces of the groove and the rib of complementary shapes making coding office, i.e. preventing the engagement of the shoe on the element associated with the board in a direction that is not the right one.
Naturally the other retaining element has a groove whose cross-sectional dimensions are appropriate to those of the rib.
Preferably, the rib and the groove ensure immobilization of the shoe on the board around a vertical direction and in a direction transverse to the main direction of the rib. The locking means provides a connection around in a vertical direction upwards and in the main direction of the rib. Possibly this longitudinal connection can be achieved by the interlocking of the rib and the groove, because of their shape or, by example, by transverse secondary ribs which cooperate with grooves or secondary recesses.
Figure 6 shows another alternative embodiment. According to this variant, the retaining
The
As in the previous case, the dimensions of a cross section of the rib formed by
the
However, the shape and dimensions of a cross section are not limiting for the invention. It is also possible to implement variants of shape and inclination of the sides such than those previously described.
The device also has a locking means. According to FIG. 6, the
In a complementary manner, the
The locking means also comprises two portions of
As in the previous case, the targette portions can be recalled in position
for closing the notches by an elastic means such as a spring, the
Figures 8 and 9 show another variant implementation of the invention. According to
this variant, the
In addition, the
Preferably, the
In the middle of the
In the example illustrated, the locking means comprises a
Preferably, a
According to the present variant, the locking means does not act on the element associated with the
shoe only in a vertical direction, upwards. The other degrees of freedom between the
two
The dimensions of the forms which cooperate by interlocking are not limiting. Preferably, at the level of the shoe, the rib or the groove extends from the metatarsal area to the heel area. So for a defined range of lengths of shoes, the complementary shapes of the elements associated with the board and the shoe extend from the metatarsal area to the heel of the longer foot. However, this is not limiting with respect to the invention.
Naturally this description is given for information only, and we could adopt other implementations of the invention without departing from the scope thereof, defined by the claims.
In particular, the element associated with the board could also be equipped with any appropriate means
to adjust its orientation in the horizontal plane relative to
In addition, it goes without saying that the invention relates to any shoe intended for the practice of snowboarding. whatever its type, which would be equipped with a retaining element of the kind associated with the shoe.
Also, it goes without saying that the invention also relates to any intermediate plate which would be used. as an interface between a traditional shoe and a gliding board equipped with a restraint of a kind which has just been described. In this case, the intermediate plate would be equipped with a additional retaining element of the kind associated with the shoe.
It goes without saying also that the invention also covers a gliding board which would be equipped with an element retainer integrated into its structure, or attached, of the kind associated with the gliding board.
