Description

The invention relates to a roof window with a folding sash with the features of the preamble of claim 1 and relates in particular to a fitting for such roof windows.

In many cases, roof window sashes are designed as swinging sashes so that they can be pivoted into a position such that their outside can be cleaned from the inside in addition to a normal swinging area for ventilation purposes. For this it is necessary that the frame and casement are fitted into the roof opening so that a substantial part of the roof opening is taken up by the frame parts of the window.

Man hat dies durch aufwendige konstruktive Lösungen zu umgehen versucht (vgl. dänische Auslegeschriften DK-A 14 45 72 und DK-A 14 96 56 oder US-A 4,750,302).In order to avoid this, it is known to install roof windows from the outside into the roof opening in such a way that the window frame parts come to lie outside the roof opening, so that the roof opening largely corresponds to the window opening when the sashes are open. These windows are designed as folding sashes, i.e. they fold outward about an overhead axis. The assembly of such hinged windows from the outside of the roof is not easy and also not harmless. Another disadvantage is that the windows are difficult to clean from the outside. Attempts have been made to circumvent this by means of complex constructive solutions (cf. Danish layout documents DK-A 14 45 72 and DK-A 14 96 56 or US-A 4,750,302).

In contrast, it is an object of the invention to develop a folding wing with simple means so that it can easily be moved into a position that also enables cleaning of the outer surface. It is also aimed to facilitate the mounting of the sash from the outside of the roof by appropriate design of the fitting.

To solve the main tasks, the invention proposes the teaching according to claim 1.

An advantage of this training is that all essential parts of the fitting can be pre-assembled with the sash before it is installed and only a few manipulations are necessary to insert the sash on the outside of the roof into the built-in frame. Above all, all parts necessary for moving the sash from its normal position into the cleaning position belong to this pre-assembled unit. For the transfer of the wing from the normal position of use into the cleaning position and vice versa, the latter is in an opened position in which it is held securely by the spring-like opening elements. By lowering the upper edge of the folding wing comes into a sufficient distance from the upper elements of the frame, so that an opening is created between them through which a person can comfortably clean the outside of the wing, which is then essentially horizontal.

The cleaning position is determined by a corresponding stop, while when the folding wing is moved into the use position, corresponding locking elements determine the upper position of the wing. The elements determining the upper position of use are interacting elements on the supporting parts and the guide rails, so that these automatically snap into place when the supporting parts are moved upwards out of the cleaning position.

The lower stops for the supporting parts can also be designed as an assembly aid into which the fitting can be inserted when the sash is being installed in the built-in window frame. This greatly facilitates the assembly of the wing from the outside of the roof. Furthermore, catch-like locking elements or spring tongues can be provided on the guide rails receiving the supporting parts, which come into effect after the fitting has been inserted into the pocket-shaped lower limit stops when the sash is pivoted into the frame in the final installation position, advantageously the Tongues or catches behind a profile edge of the frame profile click into place. As soon as the fitting has reached its installation position in this way, it can be finally screwed onto the frame using conventional fastening elements such as screws.

The idea of aligning the installation pivoting (around the lower stops) and the operational pivoting of the folding sashes (around the upper bearing elements) enables simplified handling during installation, so that even heavy skylights can be installed by one person.

The invention is explained below with reference to schematic drawings of an embodiment example .

The fitting 1 for the hinged window in the most preferred embodiment is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 . It consists of a fastening plate 2 which can be fastened to the sides of the casement and to which two links 4 and 3 are articulated by means of which the Hinged wing is held and guided in its use position. The other two ends of the handlebars are articulated to plate-shaped support parts 7 via non-displaceable articulation points 8 and 9. The upper articulation of the wing on the other fitting parts can also be done in a known manner other than by the link 3 and 4.

The plate-shaped support parts 7 are guided on / in guide rails 10 so as to be longitudinally displaceable. The upper position of the supporting parts 7 shown in FIG. 2 in the guide rail 10 corresponds to the usual use position of the fitting, in which the sash connected to the fastening plate 2 is pivoted or folded into different ventilation positions or into the closed position, as shown in FIG can. In this position of use, the support member 7 is secured to the guide rail 10 by locking elements. In the example shown, these consist of a latching tongue or locking tongue 14 at the upper end of the support part 7 and a latching recess 13a (see FIG . 7 ) at the upper end of the guide rail 10 or on a part 13 connected thereto. By loosening these locking elements 13a, 14, for example with the aid of a lever or screwdriver, the support part 7 can be moved downwards in the guide rails 10 when the fitting is open, the support part 7 abutting a lower limit stop 12 which is pocket-shaped and which receives the lower end of the guide rails 10 in the manner shown. The pocket-shaped limit stop 12 is fastened at a precisely predetermined distance from the upper frame part to a side frame part, for example by means of screws, before the sash is mounted in the frame with the remaining parts of the fitting. This pocket-shaped design of the limit stop serves as an assembly aid, as will be explained further below. Otherwise, the guide rails are fixed to the frame with screws (at 11) in the assembled state.

Each guide rail 10 has at its upper end a resilient latching element 15 which can be attached to the guide rail 10 or to a part 13 connected to it. Like the pocket-shaped design of the limit stop 12, this latching element also forms an assembly aid when inserting the folding wing.

The insertion process is explained in more detail in FIGS. 3 to 6 . The figures show the wing at 20 and the window frame at 21, which is inserted and mounted firmly in the roof opening before assembly. It can be seen that after attaching the mounting plates 2, the fittings 1 are pre-assembled with the casement 20. Only the pocket-shaped limit stops 12, 16 are preassembled separately on the frame. In the opened folded state, the wing is first inserted into the pocket-shaped limit stops 12, 16 with the lower ends of the mounting rails 10, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 . The position of the folding wing and the associated fittings relative to the frame is thus determined and the majority of the weight of the folding wing is transferred to the frame via the pockets 16. Then the guide rails 10 in the pockets 16 are pivoted into the installation position in the frame. Here, the resilient locking element 15 is initially displaced by the profile of the frame 21 and can then snap behind a profile edge of the frame, for example the edge 21a, as shown in Figures 5 and 6 in detail. The support parts 7 are secured to the guide rails 10 in their upper position of use by the locking elements 13, 13a and 14. In this provisionally secured position, it is no longer difficult to finally fix the guide rails 10 on the frame 21, namely by inserting the screws at the points designated by 11. Now the spring-like extension elements 30, which are preferably designed as gas pressure telescopic springs, can also be connected to the sash frame and frame at the points marked by a template or the like, as illustrated in FIG. 5 .

In this installed position, the folding wing 20 can be pivoted into any desired ventilation position with the aid of the handlebars 3, 4 and is held securely in relation to its own load and wind pressure by the gas pressure springs 30 in each of these positions.

In order to be able to clean the outside of the folding wing, it is brought into a cleaning position that differs from the point of use. For this purpose, as shown in FIG. 7 , the folding wing is only brought into a ventilation position, for example that according to FIG. 5 , the locking elements 13, 13a and 14 are disengaged, for example with the aid of a lever-type screwdriver, and the wing with the supporting parts 7 under the weight of the wing moved downwards along the guide rails 10 until the supporting parts 7 abut the lower limit stops 12, 16. As a result, a sufficiently large opening is exposed above the edge of the wing, through which the outside of the wing is accessible and can be cleaned. After cleaning, the supporting parts 7 with the folding wing need only be moved up again along the guide rails 10 until the locking elements 13, 13a and 14 automatically snap back into engagement. The wing is now ready for normal use.

Figur 6).The locking element 15 and the one locking element 13, 13a can advantageously be arranged on a common slip-on shoe which is attached (and fixed) to the upper end face of the guide rail 10, so that assembly aid and cleaning position can be achieved by means of a (small) attachment piece (cf. Figure 6 ).
